I was a regular Lounger in the Shirley branch, and I have to admit that the Portswood Lounge is even better. The place is way bigger and the atmosphere is always relaxed, they are dog friendly which is a great bonus, the prices are good and the food is absolutely excellent. The service is also very friendly and the experience of ordering through the website/app is seamless.

Nice and cosy place, great food served in modern style. I had veggie breakfast and it was amazing, loved the original salad and mini fry up. My friends pancakes looked and tasted amazing. Large spacious indoors and big garden. Parking is at the back so didn't worry avout the car. Will definitely go again.

I've been coming here more and more often, as their vegan menu is absolutely huge and all so tasty as well. The quiz nights on Monday are fun too and the staff all seem very friendly. Very cute garden out back.

Food was fast to be cooked, hot, fresh and great portions for the price. Staff attentive and friendly. Would have been five stars but we struggled in the dim lighting and toilets could be cleaner. Avoid Monday nights if you looking for a quiet pint and a meal, due to quiz night.

A really nice place to go for lunch - especially if you have veggies or vegans in your party! Really good menu with plenty of options to chose from. Really busy when we arrived at lunch time, we're told food would be an hour but we didn't have to wait that long which was nice. Staff were really friendly and helpful when it came to needing a change to one of the dishes. You can order at the bar, or use the app to place your order. I took 1 star off for two reasons - I had a chicken burger which had barely any chicken in (I mean the smallest amount) which was a little annoying, but it was still super tasty! Secondly, none of the staff were wearing masks (July 31st 2021). I know masks aren't required by law, but when staff are getting close to you at the door and talking to you, and serving food at your table, and not wearing masks, I don't feel as safe.

Edit (August 2022) been back a few times since Feb but went in today for dinner. The staff continue to be super friendly and the food is still deliscious. Monday has a main and pud/wine offer (we went for puds) and were not disappointed. Feb 2022 - Popped in for breakfast this morning (a perk of Working From Home). We love going to Trago as a family. App ordering makes it quick to get food for children, children's meals come with a snack pot delivered as soon as you order, and it's great for spontaneous meals put as there are no reservations. Food is great especially breakfasts.

Love this place, food good, staff great, ambiance excellent BUT so noisy at times you can’t hear yourself speak. Avoid weekend evenings if you want a cosy supper, go earlier. This of course is my own personal view. Maybe a few soft furnishings might absorb the noise?

My daughter and her boyfriends favourite eatery in Southampton. They introduced me and I treated them. From the outside I was a bit unsure. But once greated and seated I was at home. Fantastic menu, eclectic decor, friendly staff, they were very busy, we were lucky to get a table. Thoroughly enjoyed and have already planned our next visit, can't wait to try more of the mocktails as I will be driving home afterwards.

It has a lovely interior and garden, the staff are nice but some issues with the food. The portion sizes are pretty small, the vegan bacon isn't baconesq at all I suspect they use the Quorn smoky ham slices. The flavour profile is completely different. The patatas bravas tapa are so small, about one potato for more than £4. Avoid the tapas and vegan bacon on the menu. And to top it off the pints are expensive.

We went to this beautiful looking cafe while we were in Southampton. First we looked at the menu from outside the cafe and we liked it. As soon as you enter the cafe, it looks like a you are in a beautiful place. Lots of lovely painting, books, board games, cute little decorations, chairs and tables. Staff working here are very friendly and you feel at home. You have a lots of choices from food to drinks. Ordering the food was very easy. Food was tasty and also the drink, it was quite a big portion. All in all a great place to eat. Some students were working on their laptops, great, lovely and friendly place. If you are in Southampton and want to eat at a good place, you should go to this cafe.

My first visit to the Trago Lounge and I was actually really surprised as I was not expecting to add another great restaurant to the limited number of decent restaurants in Portswood. Being a student haven for cheap food which is also tasty, I thought I'd try it out. The outside does not dictate the inside thats for sure. The decor is great, the smell is very authentic when you enter. There are games and puzzles you can play for all ages which is a small quirk to this restaurant. It does appeal to many ages as I saw when dining here on this visit. The price to me didn't seem that cheap but when the bill came to a total for 2 mains, 2 drinks, 2 extra small sides at £1 and one main side around £2.50, the bill was wallet noticing. I was impressed with that and on to the food we go. The food was great, very well presented and the all day breakfast options is great to see as I'm not sure anywhere can compete for such a tasty and filling meal. I could recommend anything on the breakfast menu and I saw many other meals pass our table and they looked fantastic. The service was just food service to the table. You ordered at the bar so not full table service but that suits this restaurant. The games and food allow you take your time and relax. Isn't that what a brunch or early dinner on a Sunday is about? A birthday was celebrated on the Sunday too so you can bear that in mind too. An extra bonus was the Mulled Cider that was on offer (being Christmas!) and my partner enjoyed it. I can agree with that comment after sipping myself. If you haven't tried Trago Lounge after visiting the local area many many times before hand. I would recommend this really nice, atmospheric restaurant with great decor and friendly faces always ready to help. Food to Recommend: Chorizo & Halloumi Hash, Lounge Eggs with Chorizo, Peppers and Guacamole, Garlic Bread with Cheese and a side of Hash Browns

They definitely deserve a tip for their nice service but I could not add a card tip because they only take cash tips, which is a shame really.....

Great restaurant, we visited with my Daughter who is a regular visitor, we sat in the outside area which was pleasant coupled with the great weather and the decor which I loved. The menu offered a good selection for all. We ordered from the app. Or my daughter did and the service was prompt. I had the halloumi burger and fries with a side of onion rings great lunch choice as the dressing in the bun was lovely and onion rings with decent amount of onion not all batter. Their slaw was great too. I had the homemade lemonade which came with sherbert, what a twist on the classic sweet. Finished with the chocolate brownie sundae ,yum. Great place, excellent service and will be returning on next visit to Southampton.

It’s situated on the corner of St Denys Rd & Porstwood High St. So parking on the road or a car park further down the road. A large venue with a small paved garden, nicely decorated with oldy worldly wood that includes the furniture. It wasn’t busy but the service was friendly & good.

Went here for lunch and enjoyed the food. It was nice and hot, tasty and reasonably good value for money. The only small niggle was that it did not feel that clean, our table was covered in sticky drink residue. This wouldn't put me off going again but in the current climate I wouldn't have expected this.

Good food, well presented, reasonably priced. They took alot of care sorting out my food allergy (lemon juice) and I had a lovely meal. We were able to sit outside under a glass roof which was very pleasant. My only (small) whinge was that the music was a bit too loud for us oldies though in fairness they did try to turn it down. Really enjoyed the brunch here. It is nice that they have separated the smoking and non-smoking areas to front and back. There was a delay and a slight mix up with our meals but the waiter was very apologetic and offered us a complimentary orange juice. So all good. I have been a regular of the pub quiz on Monday nights and it was always a good laugh. It has a vibrant atmosphere and the food is really good. Would recommend to anyone who fancies reading a book, studying or having drinks and a chat.

Great branch of the Lounges in Southampton. Even my picky parents were pleased with the tapas offerings even though my mum (a chef) said that the bravas potatoes were not very tomato based as she expected! Ah, well. You can't please everyone. I'm a vegetarian (I know) and I'm always impressed with the vegan BLT which is my usual order and it's just so good. They have an app if you're feeling antisocial, the service is very quick and the team are incredibly friendly too. We have visited multiple times now with friends and family, so we will definitely frequent this place more.

Food was good but not exeptional (considering the price). We went there for breakfast at 09:00 on Saturday (it just opened) and there were few tables already. It wasn't quiet but not particularly busy. We ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and poached eggs with avocado. The first one just had a tiny strip of salmon and my one was ok. The service was a bit disappointing though, it felt very rushed. The guy was panicking too much and keep walking away when you were trying to approach him. I understand he probably wanted to catch up to avoid the place getting busier but the customers who are already sitting still deserve attention and not to be rushed. Anyway overall it was ok. Hence 3 stars.

Quirky courtyard, nicely decorated. But please, with regard to the menu. Panini is the plural of panino. With your aspirations, you should be aware of that.

The atmosphere and service is lovely. Food quality has gone down hill I think. I usually order the lounge eggs and they used to be spot on every time, until September and now I’ve had 4 orders of them come out overcooked, basically hard boiled. Twisted chicken club was burnt black the last time as well. Should have taken photos I guess but I didn’t think about it at the time. Felt too bad to tell the wait staff when it’s not really their fault how the food is cooked! Maybe they’ve gotten a new chef?

Disappointing that although the outside area was sunny, and has four walls, only about a third of the roof is covered. Obviously, smokers are accommodated out here. Just before our food was due, a smoker sat at the next table, blowing and puffing smoke. We had to retreat inside but it had been nice until then. Food good, female staff very helpful and a nice young man checked we were happy with the food. Just a shame with so much rain that we couldn't stay and enjoy the sun.

I will truly miss the atmosphere of this place, perfect for the morning, afternoon and evening. Breakfast is great and reasonably priced, a perfect hangover cure. The menu is varied but not so much that you cannot decide what to have, food is generally timely unless you come on a sunday (so busy). Nice ales and unique drinks options with a great tapas deal, coupled with board games and mellow music make a relaxing and memorable night with close friends. Trago is filled with very friendly and welcoming bar staff and judging by the quality and presentation of the food despite a basic menu, an impressive set of chefs. Additionally very child and dog friendly despite being a trendy and live bar for both students and local residents.

Went there many times with my friends. I like the outside area where is a little outside garden. I am not sure how it works now but it was the only palace opened late night. I had food there and it was very nice as well. They kind of messed up my order but otherwise everything else was perfect. They also have sustainable straws if someone is in to that. If you around Portswood definitely worth a visit for late night snacks and drinks.

Loved the old world atmosphere, low lighting, lots of old pictures around the walls. Quick & friendly service, Had a soya Latte Coffee which was rich & smooth. I give it a 3 because although the drinks served and food served is actually quite pleasant, there isnt a whole lot of a range in terms of booze. I like my whisky, and there are about 3 or 4 no-age statement whiskies there at over £7 a double. I've tried 3 of them and I was dissapointed. The coffee is great. If you're going here for lunch its fab, but not for the evening. Its got a lovely aesthetic but is accompanied by constant pop music which just doesn't suit the style of bar/cafe. Put on some jazz/soul in background, up your range of booze and its 5.

Seriously busy place when we went on a Saturday lunchtime, with lovely, helpful staff and a really excellent menu with good meat, vegatarian and vegan options. Food was freshly prepared and in the case of the dishes we had (bang bang chicken, lounge hot dog, halloumi burger and vegan lounge dog) delicious. Total cost for four meals was just over 50 quid so in my view, for food of this quality, very good value. Recommended!

Now, just because of the quality of the coffee and how good it was made I will be back in a flash. This place is really cosy and comfortable. I went on a Monday and it was really busy. Often come here at any point of the day, whether for lovely breakfast,tasty lunch or dinner drinks, the outside seating they revamped the other year is gorgeous, beer and wine selection is good. The only thing I would say is that the cost racks up here and they even charge £1 for a small pot of Syrup! Also, I tend to avoid on Saturday mornings as once or twice our breakfast wasn't quite up to the usual delicious scratch just from it being so busy. But when we told the manager some things had been cold/too hard she gave us free coffees, a discount on our bill (as we had been so hungry we still just ate it all !) and a free brownie! I still often come here just for a relax and everyone is always made to feel welcome.
