This was an old pub which has been tastefully converted. Food saved was lovely on this occasion we ordered a little bit too much or eyes bigger than or belly, to my surprise they parcelled up what we haven't eaten 2 take home. Reasonably priced and worth a visit.

Second visit here - this time for Christmas Day lunch. Food was again excellent and although it was a carvery based meal the staff attention to detail was first class. The price was so good and the restaurant was well ordered on a very busy day. This is a place that is well worth your time and is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Stoke on Trent. Good first experience. The former Pub building doesn't quite work, too open plan. Also the menu looks like something from a sizzler pub with a whole side dedicated to English food. So not a good start... But go behind the first impressions and it gets better. From the friendly and attentive staff to the freshly prepared food, it was a positive experience. Perhaps better for groups than date night, good parking and sensibly priced. Just been back (2 weeks later than first review) and again the staff and food excellent. The chicken dishes are excellent and the homemade Paneer also.

We went here for the September 2022 Two for One curry offer (only available mid week). We both had the speciality Tawa Tak-a-Tak curry, one lamb and one paneer. The curry comes out on a hot skillet and served on top of a bed of sizzling onions and peppers. Both dishes were well cooked, extremely tasty and a very good portion size. The meat in the lamb dish was lean and tender. We also had sides of coconut rice and chips to share, both cooked nicely. I have a big appetite and I was very full afterwards. The lager is reasonably priced. Service is very good. Overall, a very nice visit and meal. Recommended.

Clean, nice decor, space to just sit & have a drink whilst people wait for a takeaway. Staff attentive & polite. I had the chicken tak-a-tak & there was loads of chicken. Garlic & coriander naan was lovely (not too thick, but flavoursome). The £11.99 mixed starter was great. Could possibly be a sharing starter for 3 - 4, not a large starter for 2. Would recommend this place if you live within 5 miles.

Lovely meal. Both my wife and me had great meals. We went for the Indian side of the menu tonight and was not disappointed. You can also have English food here as well on the reverse side of the menu which does not happen in many places. A lovely clean place with very friendly and pleasant staff. Also has a great range of beers to choose from. An all around brilliant place. Went again last night (19th of March 2022) and it's still a lovely place all as before. This time a family meal for six people. We were all happy with our meals and service we received. The place was pretty full from 6pm when we arrived until 7.30pm when we left, so a very popular restaurant.

Went to the Golden Keg yesterday evening with my wife and had a lovely meal, it exceed all our expectations! We are vegetarian and were very pleased with a wide variety of options available and the Indian home cooked taste. The chefs / owners are from India and this means that compared to other local restaurants this has proved to be the most authentic Indian meal we've had! The restaurant was also well presented, clean and efficient making the whole experience great :) Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Pleasantly shocked at real ale offering in both quality of the lines and choice. Food service was outstanding: on our seconds visit, the waitress was able to recall our original visit according to reach plate and accompaniment from 3 weeks previous which saved my father from ordering the wrong dish. The highlight is the menu - half English, half Indian and each dish is well explained which makes it easy for a novice to select the right curry with zero prior knowledge!

I don't usually like Indian food very much, but this was excellent . I had Tak a Tak ,you could taste all the flavours and spices. It was nicely presented. the only negative was the peshwari nan was very small and it cost £3.50 so we had go order another. The plus side was it was best one I've ever had. The tables have a nice big space between them so you don't feel crowded. Very nice friendly Staff. Nice atmosphere. I had forgot my glasses but that was sorted as they have several pairs you can borrow so you can read the very extensive menu. Plenty of English dishes too for those who might not like Asian food but you've gone as a group.

Good food and choice, reasonable prices. Service far too slow. Our meal was booked for 7.30 pm but we didn't get a menu until 8.15 pm. Poppadoms arrived at 8.30 pm and mains finally reached us at 9pm. Far too late for a substantial meal. Disappointed.

We went on Sunday for a carvery. Nice enough place, cleanish. Friendly staff. Strange thing was the starter was Indian food. Which was very nice but then a carvery after didn't taste the same. The roast veg was rock hard in the middle and the Yorkshire puds were the 12 for a pound out of asda type. The meat was pork , beef or Chinese chicken. Chinese chicken with a roast dinner doesn't seem right to me unless you don't have gravy. Personally I wouldn't go again for a carvery but might for an Indian.

Visited during christmas. Excellent service, meal and drinks on offer. Probably the nicest pint of plum porter I have ever had. The food was fantastic not extra hot but well spiced and flaversome, the best Indian I have had in a long time. It makes me want to return and try the rest of the menu. Good meal, good service. What's not to like? Desserts a little chaotic. Go to the dessert counter - the dessert list is somewhat inaccurate. On the whole though, an extensive English and Indian menu, good for all tastes.

Tried an indian/English restaurant we've not been to before (Golden Keg, Draycott). The food was lovely, hubby had some kind of lamb curry and trimmmings, I had Chicken Fungi which was Chicken breast in a creamy mushroom sauce with Potatoes and steamed vegetables...really lovely! I didn't like... The waitresses who were slapdash! No tablecloths or placemats and only paper serviettes. Everything was brought out higgly piggly in non matching dishes! 2 plates plonked down for us to eat our Poppadom starters off and I had to ask could we please have some cutlery! The main course was cleared away after we had eaten then we saw the girls get their coats and they went home before even asking if we wanted a desert! I know we didn't arrive until 9pm but it was fairly quiet in the restaurant area with most guests having finished their meals and leaving shortly after we arrived. At least it was a cheap night only cost £37.00 with drinks! It would be lovely with a little attention to detail as the food was really nice! We'll come back and give you another chance as we couldn't fault the food or the friendly man behind the bar but spraying tables and leaving spray on my seat (which I had to wipe) and not asking if we would like deserts or coffees was really poor and you lost money! Therefore 5* food and 1* service 😱

Booked a table for out 5th wedding anniversary. 6.30pm on a Friday night, ideal before the early rush. Warm and polite welcome. Comfy chairs. Wide ranges Menu. Chicken Pakora is delicious. Tomato Soup is tasty. MooDog Pie with Real Mashed Potato, Mushy Peas and Gravy is a filling meal. And the Indian Fish and Chips is different, but tasty. The Masalla Chips, I found, was a little too salty for my taste, but still spicy. Highly Recommended. Will be visiting again soon.

The Sunday buffet is well recommended. The price is reasonable. Food quality is good and the staffs were helpful too. I m hoping they will add a few more authentic selections such as briyarni, poppadoms and etc. A small selection of dessert included for customers to complete their buffet meal will be great. Since most buffet restaurants are offering to their customers. It just my personal opinion.
