Fancy a steak at Beefeater so spoken to member of staff and order a t-bone steak then was asked how would I like my steak cooked .which I requested blue which was great good size t-bone for the price and was Cooked how I ordered the t-bone. Plus I will recommend to friends and family off the good standard 👍

So we were at the Beefeater last night. As soon as we arrived we could see that the atmosphere was a little tense. Staff seemed a little stressed. We noticed that there was a lot of lads running about, making noise and doing whatever they liked. We were greeted by Emily who throughout the whole eve was lovely. Very nice waitress and trying hard. In fact, she never stopped working her butt off! I don’t know if because of a few big group bookings or not, maybe staff issues, but wasn’t the quickest service. However the attitude of some “parents” I say that as getting drunk while ya footy kids run around doing what they want, was awful. So rude to staff. Rude to the manager. Complained and complained and even when offered solutions, still complained. And also LIED about what was going on. Was it the best last night. No. But these are people trying there best and just doing their jobs. I didn’t catch the team involved, but someone colts maybe beginning with S. As I left at 22:10 a bunch of these kids are the side of the road shouting down cars while parents? Coaches? Who knows watch on and keep drinking. Your manager was very good trying to deal with it! Again, our food was good, service was slow. But, I will give 5 stars for effort of the staff dealing with horrible customers around them.

overall service was good. The young women that served me and my friend was very polite and friendly, sian i think her name was. However the manager was beyond rude, Jo her name was, i made sure i got that! We had asked for the bill from the waitress and the manager then proceeded to make rude comments towards our table and hinder me and my friend paying, ultimately saying other customers were more important, ruined our lovely meal and overall experience of the beefeater! will not be returning

We had breakfast there 3 times over the Bank Holiday weekend and I cannot thank the staff enough for the way they made us feel at home. From the manager Andy to the waitering staff, especially Jo. Average food but really bad service. Staff weren't helpful, we didn't get one of our meals until everyone else had finished, staff had no knowledge of products on offer and we had to ask for everything. For some reason they have us 10 menus for a table of six?

Went for lunch yesterday as a treat. Food was lovely. Unlimited refillable triple cooked chips on offer but you don't need it. There is plenty on the plate without extras. Staff were friendly and seated us pretty much straight away. Cauliflower cheese was amazing! Steak was cooked lovely. Edit Oct 2021.... so disappointed! Food was awful this time. Limited menu and half the items not available.

Great place to go for a bite to eat. Jo, who has looked after us on two occasions now, is exceptional and is a credit to Beefeater. She alone makes it worth the visit but the food is great value and large portions.

What can I say but had high hopes for the place and food ? Very nice staff but for what you pay ? Very small handful of chips with the steaks and then did'nt have the " prawn n lobster topping " Lucky we had forty per cent of vouchers or it would have cost a fortune , glad to say that things have now changed from are first visit ! Brilliantly situated within an industrial park of several hotels, restaurants and food venues with a local supermarket within reach. The sign for this one sticks out nice and clear from the roadside so easy to find. This Beefeater, cutely named the merry monk is a medium sized venue with good access to individuals of varying needs as there are no steps and from the main pavement you can walk straight through. The only concern I would have is the doors are manual and heavy so wheelchair users / people using walking aids will need assistance. We were greeted in a timely manner and I had contacted the host previous to warn of an adjustment to our arrival time as I had booked but there was traffic en route. This was no problem and we were then led to a clean well presented table, the host then informed us of our servers name and that she would be with us soon. Our drinks order was taken quickly which was great as we were both quite thirsty! We ordered two thatchers haze cloudy ciders, which came with brilliantly clean glasses with a good measure of ice. My partner had the fillet steak stack with salad and the other order was a fillet steak with salad. Food order was cooked perfectly, both medium rare and the salad was nice and fresh with a requested French dressing that was a tasty addition. It did get quite busy and we had to wait for a salad top up as it was unlimited, but with a bit of patience (as both of us have worked in the food industry) we were served by an apologetic server - I assured her that given how busy things were a 10 min wait is no problem!! Paying was easy and a quick process and we were left with a trip advisor card to fill out, which is always nice to know that they would like your feedback regardless of it being good or bad 😊

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here on Easter Monday however the service etc wasn't great. Firstly, we arrived at 1.30pm, it wasn't busy. There were probably 6 tables full. The speed of the service was very slow. Took ages to get drinks and then took again ages for them to come around again to then ask for more drinks. They should get a refillable unit for the refill drinks. Especially if the waitresses are too busy talking about their weekend and checking their phone instead of looking after their tables. I had a mixed grill. Although the steak on the plate was only a small steak, I asked for it to be cooked rare. It came out medium well. The rest of the food was good but the bad service let the place down. The speed of the food coming out was very slow too

We booked .but we're told they were fully booked but there were at least 40 places unoccupied from 6pm to 8pm why lie? Waitress was very polite but very young and inexperienced so didn't get timings 100% right but did her best. We were sat by the kitchen and impressed by the chef who was very calm and well organised but let down by the slowness of the waitresses Overall 3/5

This was my second and last time at a Beefeater. The service was slow and not just us but there were quite a few customers waiting for staff to assist them. Then one of the meals was forgotten in our group so he had his food ten minutes after we did. Also when I look across to what looked like the service and prep section there was rubbish on the floor just sweeped to the side and the units were dirty. On a plus when we did get our food and pudding it did taste good

Stayed overnight at the adjacent Premier Inn. Had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. We were served by the best members of staff we've ever encountered at dinner, especially Emily who is a credit to the restaurant. The food was very good, and the cocktails/mocktails went down a treat. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely pay a visit 👍

I stay at Premier Inns a lot so know the Whitbread brands quite well!! Normally think they're not that good and expensive for what they are. However found this one to be a cut above. Nicely laid out inside apart from the usual questionable wall art (veggies beware!!), good food and friendly, efficient staff both in the evening and at breakfast. If you're visiting for both dinner and breakfast and haven't already booked it online, ask for the meal deal at reception. Currently available at £24:99 and includes two courses and a drink in the evening and a full breakfast next morning (normally £8:99 in it's own).

Massive thank you to all the staff. Very polite professional and accommodating. We stayed for 3 nights with breakfast and evening meals. Breakfast was always nice and fresh with plenty there and refreshed as needed. Also our evening meals were always nice and fresh and value for money. We never felt rushed and the staff would observe our table and attend when needed for drinks or the next course. This was so much of a refreshing change as we didn’t have to try to get somebody’s attention. Big thank you to all the staff who went out there way to accommodate us late back for our evening meal due to our car breaking down and arriving at closing . Myself and the family had the most fantastic time and thank you all. We have eaten in many beefeaters in past but this has been our best by far. Definitely recommend and looking forward to returning again very soon 👍

Food was lovely, service good. It was a cooler day, both lots of entrance doors were open, we had a 5 month old baby with us, therefore we were cold and sat eating the meals with our coats on ! I think they could have offered us different seating, as there was empty tables and we would have still been within social distancing ! Most staff wore masks, but a couple didn't !

This was the perfect place for our family party of eight. The staff were fantastic from taking our booking and through the whole of the meal. Some of the best food you can find at a chain pub. The breakfast here used to be really good but has gone considerably downhill as of recently as all of the food is now help yourself and there's often things missing from the counter. Still pretty cheap breakfast and makes for a good breakfast in the mornings with family. The evening food is nice, and always tasty, much better quality than harvester. Occasional iffy service but this is more due to understaffing than because the waiters / waitresses are bad or rude. Lots of space, normally not too loud and nicely designed on the inside.

We only go here for breakfast, complicated story, but it's usually pretty good. Depending upon how busy they are breakfast can be cooked to order or from the buffet. The food is usually good and the service variable but decent overall. Disabled parking and access are fine too.

I have not been to this place for two years and today I realised why. I was once again disappointed with the food. My burgers were good, but my partners chicken was dry, both our chips were flabby although they were hot. Another niggle is that despite being a lunch time and very few people in we were not deemed capable of deciding where to sit on our own. It is highly unlikely that we will be returning.

Not very clean. The staff is not very nice with everyone; except Rick a nice young man. Obviously they don't really like foreigners. I ate there for a week (Stay in Premier Inn for business reasons) I felt just as not really welcome. The food is not too bad, expensive but correct. Very good salmon, very good cheesecake... The breakfast is excellent. Pains au chocolat; croissants, toasts, juices,tea, coffee....plates and thermostats not clean that's a shame. It could be a very good restaurant but they need to improve cleanliness, organization and they should be more welcoming with everybody. I could see they were really friendly with most customers ...not all customers. Rick has been very nice and came to apologize. This week the team was better. Better service. Food is not perfect but it was better with this team as well. Still need to improve cleanliness but at least the staff this week was nice.

Free parking. Lovely staff. Great food. Great new menu. Happy with the beer. WiFi. Opens early enough to work from laptop remotely. Not too busy to cause distraction. One bloody lovely female chef took the initiative to ask and remember my name. Several other members of staff are quick to greet and welcome every time I visit. I wish I could name the several staff members that make you feel so welcome and human. Will be back. One negative comment is that on some rare occasions (usually when service is changing from breakfast to standard service) there are times when you must wait a few mins to get served as the staff have numerous jobs e.g. tidying away breakfast service. The staff are a credit to the establishment. More flexibility on breakfast options/costs would be ideal but adjoining hotel might dictate the options. 10/10 for the staff who are always making themselves busy.

I’m not keen on chain restaurants as the food is often generic and nothing special. But during my 10-day stay at the Premier Inn next door, I’ve been able to eat a very different meal each night from full-on steak to calamari to veggie feasts, and all perfectly cooked so hats off to the chef! Also the service here is amazing - I’d particularly like to mention Kyra and Ellie, who are friendly, efficient and just go that extra bit to make your meal even better. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone - been in Michelin-starred restaurants with less tasty food and stuffy staff!

Been for breakfast a few times usually really good, however this time asked for a cheese and mushroom omelette for the vegetarian in our group (as we usually do and is on the vegetarian menu) was told they don't do omelettes. I asked what was the vegetarian options the waitress then begrudgingly ordered us some vegatarian sausages. the coffee was barely warm and kept running out of smoothie but everything else ok.
