A. W.We were so pleased about our eating experience at the rifleman inn. After booking at short notice they were able to accommodate us (a party of 19) celebrating my wife's birthday. The ladies made us feel really welcome and the food was not only delicious but it came out hot and was well presented. Compliments to the chef. Definitely worth a visit.

R. B.Booked ahead with the Covid restrictions in place. Got a text message as email confirmation was bouncing, which is great service.
Food was nice and portion sizes were good. Hunters chicken was cooked well and the chips had a great taste to them. It was all done via table service and everyone was very efficient and on the ball. No waiting around for drinks, which can sometimes be an issue with table service.
A nice afternoon in the beer garden, nice weather, with nice food and drink. What more could you ask for on a bank holiday?
k. n. w.on a trip to Staffordshire we found this great little pub and restaurant by pure chance. Alex and Andrew looked after our group of 10 with wonderful homely care. The food was all cooked fresh and everyone from the youngest to the oldest was impressed and had only good things to say about the quality of the food. This is not your typical chain pub food that's fired from a freezer bag to the microwave this is proper home cooked food.
j. v.This was my second visit to The Rifleman and to be honest I didn't really enjoy my meal. Think everyone else did that we were with on this occasion but I just think I chose the wrong meal. The lighting in the dining area is very dark much darker than I would like it to be when eating a meal. I do like to see what I'm eating. The desert however was delicious and the service was really good.

J. H.Amazing food, and pretty quick service too! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Meals were cooked exactly how you requested and piping hot. Did seem a little packed out though, as though we were close to other diners....but this is not a complaint, just an observation. Definitely we would go again, brilliant place!
r.This pub has always been great value in the past but our last visit was a bit of a let down. The gammon steak my wife had was very small compared to previous visits and so to was my steak and ale pie , after i removed the gravy boat from my plate i was left with a whopping great space where more veg , chips or extra pie could have been. A wonderfully presented, spacious pub.
The food served is tremendous, and cooked to perfection. Dishes are well presented and mouth watering from the first sight. A wonderfully presented menu greets you as you are seated, the menu itself caters to all tastes, the selection is spectacular.
Waiting staff are well coordinated, polite, and accommodating.
Truly one of the finest establishments in the area.

j.Such a shame i had heard so many good things about the food here which i am sure some of it is, i went in on sunday 17th april and had lasagne but unfortunately i could only eat 1/4 of it due to having a thick layer of potato or cheesy potato on top ! This tasted awful so all i managed was the salad, garlic bread and a few chips. Unfortunately i won't be returning as i don't eat anything else off the menu when i eat out !

The tables were a little too close together for my liking but as mentioned I didn't feel unsafe at all, with hand sanitizer available throughout the facility and one way system in operation.
We took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out facility but would have supported one of our local pubs anyway.

T. O. L.The food wasn't the best I have ever eaten, but it was certainly good. A nice place to have a nice meal. When I visited it wasn't too busy, and the waiting time was very good, but there was still enough people for a good atmosphere. Pretty average restaurant all in all, and had good television coverage of football if that's what you're looking for. Only complaint would be the male hand-dryer being sub-par, but that's such a menial complaint it hardly matters at all.

J. P.My husband and I went for lunch today. Been once before for a retirement do and were very impressed then. This time, as good as we remember..better in fact. Hubby had mussels starter and I had minestrone soup both delicious. Large portion on the mussels, Tony thought it was a sharing dish for two. Mains were Steak pie and the chicken stuffed with garlic mushrooms. Both meals again were divine. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive and its a very relaxed (no rush) atmosphere. No room for cake though 🙁 but we were kindly offered a cakeaway..extremely tempting but we declined because we know we will be going back soon. Thanks to all and extra bonus is very reasonably priced too.

M.Disappointed with the service on my second visit. Turned up just after 3pm, stood at the bar, picked up a couple of menus and then proceeded to order a drink. When I went to order food I was told no chef for another 2 hours or so... For a cheese toastie too! Surely it makes sense to tell me as I was watched picking up menus and seen to be holding them while ordering... Great customer service!

I had steak & ale pie and it was the nicest I've ever tasted, really deep and packed with melt in your mouth steak. The chips are real, and you get a 'proper' gravy boat...not one of those little tiny ones! All the other meals were lovely too and no one left anything! We moved into the bar for drinks afterwards. D.This is not for me good 3 course Sunday lunch menus but food plentiful but not appetizing at all roll for soup was nucked and couldn't cut it when finally opened it it was rock hard veg not cooked hard I mean rock hard meat fatty so much you tasted the fat not the meat plus meal cold only thing to be hot was the dessert which was nucked so much the pie was soft and unedible so possible might have had a bad experience so upto you to try but I won't be rushing back

The Rifleman is a privetly run pub and restaurant and offers a relaxing atmosphere with a personalised service lacking in many of the branded opposition. The menu is quite wide ranging with a good choice of starters and main courses. Our food was excellent and portion sizes more than adequate. Overall good value, friendly service and a nice local feel.

Well received by all the staff a slight slip of a spoon from the serviette and no need whatsoever to change it , but instantly fresh cutlery was proffered . Sirloin Steak not difficult to do but done as good as anywhere,the trout a nice twist with a salt and pepper crust and a sweet chilli dip so a bit of Thai fusion going on . Tasty potato and leek soup , so easy to make floppy this spot on good flavour texture and viscosity the other meals I saw served to table all well presented and from the impression I got all really really good . Well worth a visit
