Reviews of Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant & Bar

Very large restaurant nearby to the city shops of Burton. Staff friendly and helped with finding a suitable table for a disabled person. Good value for money. Lots of dishes, starters, mains and desserts. One downside is most dishes have ginger added which gave my friend a bad stomach, also would like to see more vegetarian/vegan options.

Having been to Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant over 20 years still great place to go .The food section is very good and they are loads of different foods to try
Plus the price is different on the night time but you get more for your money . Went in about 12pm got a table didn't have to book order my drink staff are helpful and only ways cleaning your empty plates away when finished then get refill of foods off the food counter plus .then it's the pudding can't eat enough. Great place to eat 😋 👌

Tasty food. Loots of it! And the desert bar is amazing!
Overall had a great evening here. Also, the restaurant is quite nicely decorated.
Perfect for a dinner with friends, or even with your loved one.

Very nice and tasty food with a massive selection.
I'm quite surprised there are lots of reviews saying the food is cold, it's always been red hot or cold if its chilled foods.
Hygiene wise, yes the holders on the tables could do with being cleaned but other than that it's fine. Out of 2 visits so far the first lady to seat us from reception was very happy and polite but Friday gone was a different lady who was cold and not really happy for us to come and spend money. However this will not stop us from coming again, the Asian lady on the payment desk was very happy we enjoyed our food. Most of the serving staff are quite young but they all are very polite.
People seem to rave about Cosmo in Derby being good, but i hope I'm qualified to say since I've tried a few places and also been cooking Asian food and learning from them but not yet been to South East Asia that Wing Wah is really good. The flavours are strong and we have had nothing yet which seems watered down. What you do have to remember places in the UK have to cater for white people (that's us) and most do not like to much spice or strong flavours. I already know some Nepali places serve a spicy chutney which is nothing like the what they cook at home because most do not like it despite it being very tasty and I've had first hand experience of eating the right stuff.
There is a massive selection of food, too much to try in one visit and its all high quality way better than Cosmo Derby or May Sum Nottingham and as good as our local takeaway and The New Water Margin Derby. The sushi is real its not the cheap stuff, and the deserts are amazing too. No cheap synthetic cream its the real stuff which for a buffet restaurant is a real welcome surprise.
I think Burton is really lucky to have this place there, this really is you pay for what you get. It costs more than the other eat as much as you like places but its worth it. There are flavours i recognise from authentic ingredients i use for certain dishes so i know its got good stuff in it.
Thanks so much will be back again.

The food was very nice, plenty of it and kept topped up constantly. It was very busy, but that just shows how popular it is. We booked and I think this is best as I think you would have a long wait if you just turn up. Found the drinks expensive, and that was just for soft drinks. Total cost for meal and drinks for 4 adults and 3 children was £170, but the quality of the food made it worth it.
