The atmosphere is great, it's located by the marina and very short walk to the shore. The decor is very warm. When you going during twilight or sunset hour its a great place to be with friends or family. There is a plethora of fish dishes to go around as well as meat. The food is always good and well presented. You get a good serving with your starters. The mains (though sometimes have a bit too much sauce) taste great. The tiger prawns although pricey are very big. Food is fresh and local. Would give it a try if you're in Swansea.

Tried El Pescador this evening, on strong recommendation. My wife had been several times before, but I had never been. Within minutes of being there, I had already decided that El Pescador was my new favourite restaurant in Swansea, one of my favourites in Britain and even in my top 5 Tapas restaurants, in Europe. The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was fantastic. The selection of seafood was amazing and with so much locally sourced fish and produce available, I was very impressed. We had planned on having a starter, main and desert, but after studying the menu, we decided to order 10 different dishes on the menu, as tapas, to sample as much as possible. Each and every dish was out of this world. There were no dishes that made me think ‘I wish I hadn’t ordered this’. Also, our deserts were absolutely amazing. The desert chef really knows what people want. I’ve never had a cheese cake like it. My wife also enjoyed the Mahon gin and the way the Gins were served, with actual juniper berries and different herb garnishes. Amazing. I felt like I was having dinner in Menorca. Especially as from our table, we could see the yachts and fishing boats in the marina. Lastly, the bill came to half the price, that I expected, certainly a lot cheaper than other Swansea restaurants, for superior food. Next visit, we will try all the dishes that we didn’t try on this occasion. We can’t wait to go back. Definitely one of the best restaurants around. Strongly recommend to any seafood, steak, tapas lovers. My only regret, and it’s not a complaint, I didn’t get to try the oysters. Oh well.. A reason to get back there soon.

I really wanted to like this place. The staff and ambience were good... However the food didn't quite live up to expectations.. Everything was rather slaked in sauce.. The Gambas and garlic was rather grey and slimy. The scallops were not really seared enough and were tepid. The meatballs were a hit with my son but nothing much was exceptional.. bottom line... If this was a local restaurant (I'm on holiday). I would not got again or at least not often..

Wow, what a treat after a very long, overdue date night! El Pescador did not disappoint. The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. My husband and I had a couple of starters each (calamari, meatballs, whitebait and olives) - he particularly enjoyed the meatballs and the salsa sauce on the olives was gorgeous. For the main, my husband chose the lamb shank - again, he commented on how delicious the sauce was. I chose the roasted cauliflower dish, extremely filling and a yummy option for vegans. We shared the white profiteroles for dessert - heavenly and even though cocktails aren’t on the menu, the lovely bartender made me a gorgeous cocktail called sidecar. Many thanks El Pescador - can’t wait for the next (hopefully not overdue) visit!

Starter was incredible, being the Whitebait and bread with roasted garlic cloves. The Bailey's coffee was also spot on. Onto the mains and that's where it fell apart. Roasted lamb was indeed soft and luscious but unfortunately characterless with little spice resting in stodgy gravy resembling a shelf mix. Lemon sole with olives was good and the helpings of oil really add a richness to the fish. However, the two prawns added for £4.95 came overgrilled and were burnt. They were hidden away under the salad which is disappointing in terms of presentation. While the flesh was edible, the prawn shells were messy, crumbly, and it was difficult to eat without mouthfuls of carbon and burnt flecks getting everywhere. For £4.95 extra this was an overreach and so we requested it to be removed from the bill. While the waitress at first tried to assure us that the prawns usually reach the table in that condition, the manager inspected and agreed on the poor quality so all was resolved and the prawns were removed from the bill no hassle. Minus the above and our water being forgotten, the service was generally good. Overall though, this establishment feels pretty overpriced for what is actually received. If it came to around £18-22 per head with three total drinks versus the £26-27 we paid per person, four stars would be more fitting.

Stopped over for tapas. Fantastic culinary experience. Very attentive and friendly staff. I must mention, we ordered a selection of cheese among other things, the presentation and tantalising mixtures of apple, passion fruit, walnut and certain cheeses can be. Great atmosphere. My advice, book a table in advance. This place is a hidden gem for seafood lovers.

Lovely restaurant, and delicious food. The only down sides were that starters took a very long time (almost 1hr) and also they seem to be very stingy with the bread for some reason (were very adamant they had to charge for a whole basket of bread rather than providing just 1 or 2 extra slices to go with the garlic bread) - just put a bit of a dampener on the experience. Otherwise, lovely!

I have been to El Pescador twice over the past two weeks. The first time I had a three course lunch menu with my wife and friends which was very enjoyable. The second occasion my wife and I took my daughter and her husband. The meal was OK, the service was slow due what appeared to be a shortage of staff. I will give it a while before I try again.

The food was GREAT. They can bank that, no problem. The food was HONESTLY GREAT. The STAFF, however, were super polite...on the rare occasions you could get their attention. It was a bit like all of them were on work experience and not entirely sure how to do this brand new thing called work in a restaurant. Also, and not sure if this will be a thing long term, they still have up the COVID barrier things between tables. If they want the safety measures still, fine, I won't be mean about that, but if you do go GET USED to the barriers being a talking point because JESUS, you'll be doing a LOT of chat about it whilst waiting for someone to take your order. I came here once previously and it was fantastic. I went back with my family to celebrate my birthday and the service was incredibly poor. It wasn't a busy evening and everyone just seemed to pass off tasks to someone else so nothing was being done with any speed. We had to request mayonnaise three times before it came. They gave us vinegar twice rather than the mayonnaise but finally got it right. I ordered a glass of sauv blanc at the beginning of the meal. I was given a glass. Then as mains came out I ordered another glass of sauv blanc. This took a long time to come and then the waiter came over and said that they didn't do sauv blanc by the glass. I told him that I had ordered it previously. He disappeared and avoided the table. I had nearly finished my main meal when he came back and the manager got involved. The person who gave my first glass had clearly given me something different and hadn't told me. They gave me a glass on the house but tbh I doubt I would go back now purely because of how shoddy their service was. Shame because the food is great.

4 of us ate starters, mains and desserts. Food overall was high quality and well executed, although the Halibut should have been cut thicker. Oysters and caviar were excellent, sardines a little on the small and dry side (overcooked). We had an excellent volcanic wine from Lanzarote, unique to this restaurant. Desserts were delicious, especially the baked cheesecake. Service v attentive and gracious. Hygiene excellent. Def worth a visit.

Wow, what can I say, what a wonderful place we have at the Marina in Swansea, we went to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary & it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, I had a meatball starter, followed by lamb with paprika chips, my Wife had the pate, follow by the steak with paprika chips, we both sampled each others food, which was just constantly followed by 'yummy' noises! The staff were lovely, couldn't fault them at all, very polite & a lovely bunch of people who look to put smiles on there customers faces - they certainly did ours. One of the best fresh seafood eats in Swansea. I had the calamari starter and it was a home made recipe of the owners mum. Real calamari with the sauce. Not the usual rings and Tarte sauce. Followed by the monk fish. Wow. Presentation is Very knowledgeable on the wine. The owner is always very hospitable and has time to say hi to everyone. A lovely personal touch. Just like in Spain. What a friendly place to eat. They seem to have a regular client base going by the banter exchanged. The menu is viewed via their website, plenty of choices to choose from. Lovely staff, very welcoming. Great location by the marina. Starts were lovely. My partner ordered seabass fillet which he enjoyed, however I ordered grilled gambas (prawns). 1. They where not grilled they where ovened and they where extreamly over cooked I had a very hard time peeling them as the meat of the Prawn was sticking to the shell, it took me so long to peel each Prawn I didn't even feel like I was fall even after 10 Prawns and portion of paprika fries.

We travelled from Cardiff just to have food here as we had only heard good things about this place so decided it was about time to pay a visit. It certainly didn't disappoint us in any way: Service was excellent, with all members of the staff being genuinely friendly, polite and very attentive, special mention to José who was our waiter and made sure all was perfect for us (Thanks mate👍🏼) Food was brilliant, we had the Garlic King Prawns (spicy) and Mussels as starter, and both were delicious, followed by a perfectly cooked Lemon Sole and Calamari as mains. Good sized portions with their mouth watering "Patatas a lo pobre" and salad garnish. Finished the venue with Churros and hot chocolate and a very nice Cheesecake that was recommended by the manager, which was a great suggestion btw😅 Conclusion: you get what you pay for, great quality products and service. I went to this restaurant yesterday with my mum. I was disappointed with the starter since the meatballs did not taste fresh but the sauce was very nice. But when it came to the main course they turned it around I had very nice chicken with goats cheese, bacon and padron peppers and had some very nice chips that taste absolutely wonderful with a nice range of flavours and spices. The churros I had very good with sugar, cinnamon and dipping chocolate which is a very good combination. If you live in Swansea or visiting friends or family I would recommend this place but improve on the meatballs. The staff are very friendly to me and my mum and they gave us nice food with good customer service. Well done El Pescador you deserve a pat on the back.

We couldn't have gone on a worse night. Storm Dennis was in full flow but there was a warm welcome inside. Our server was a delight: she was knowledgeable about the menu and so pleasant. Portion size was generous and the garnacha wine delicious. It was a shame we were seated next to a very noisy party and near the door but that's the luck of the draw. Maybe next time we'll have a better table...and we will go back again.

Staffing level was perfect and nice to see a restraunt not afraid to employ extra staff, perhaps another reason for the slightly higher price but it all adds to the experience. We were a party of 4 and had the Gambas to start, probably the best I and other members of the party had eaten for some time locally, the other member had the tapas ribs and was also very happy with them. For mains. 3 of us went for the sea bass special, and it too was exceptionally good. One of the party would have liked the bass filleted to avoid the faff you sometimes have with doing so at the table, but perhaps we can ask if this is possible when ordering in future. It didn't detract from the meal. Being top quality though. Another member of the party had fillet medallions and the portion was spot on along with it being perfectly cooked and very tasty indeed. Desert was a sharing affair and we had ice cream and a chocolate tart, both equally good and a nice way to bring the meal to a head. With a few bottles of Cava and a few coffees to finish, the meal came in at £43 a head give or take. And it was worth every penny. I'm glad to see Juan back in the driving seat, and if he keeps this up, he will be very busy for many more days to come. Thanks for a brilliant evening and I look forwards to my next meal with you.
