This place is gorgeous! I've never been in here before even though its fairly local but I'll be going over and over now I've found it. It's small and intimate inside but the staff are really attentive and lovely. And the food, just wow!! We asked to take what we couldn't manage home because it was way too good to leave behind

Went here on 18th June 2022, party of 7,for 7pm very disappointed, took a while getting drinks served,starter took an age, bought out dips and waited further 20 mins for popdams, which had to ask where was,2 of us choose fillet steak ,certainly wasn't!! It was pale and full of water ,that steak had never seen a frying pan,( think it must of been boiled) out of 7 only 2 actually able to finish meal as it was dry and lacked flavour,on the upside waiter's where very pleasant, sadly won't be useing again,:-*

Attended the Maharaja on the recommendation from a very good friend having moved to the area and not knowing a good restaurant to go. I love Indian food and have to say that the food here was first class. The starter was exquisitely presented, with attentive yet discreet service with the restaurant providing a serene ambiance. The mains that followed were of an equally high standard. I would thoroughly recommend the Maharaja as a dining experience and will be planning a return visit shortly. 10/10

Always a warm welcome here with hard-working staff. Food is always of top quality so you don't mind paying that bit extra. They do a cheaper set meal on certain days of the week. Best to phone up and ask as the days may vary. Overall a 5 star Indian restaurant for a good meal.

This reviewer went with two others for dinner, whilst on holiday. We parked in the restaurant's car park, from where one of us observed the kitchen for a couple of minutes before pronouncing herself satisfied with the hygiene and handling. We went in nevertheless without elevated expectations, which were not raised by the wait we had to go through for a table on a Saturday night. However, we started chatting to a local couple who also were waiting, for their take-away, who told us that this was their regular restaurant with which they were very happy. We observed how well the restaurant dealt with a pair of tipsy ladies who entered for a meal at what seemed to be their regular restaurant. Before and after we sat down we ordered, a process which took a bit longer as there were items which were not at all usual. We ate several items, all of which were very good, but I have to give special mention to two non-standard items we ate: mushroom stuffed with minced beef and chicken cooked in a mango and coconut sauce. We all agreed this was one of the very best meals we ever had had at an Indian restaurant. The staff were well-mannered and friendly, and we chatted with one of the co-owners, who informed us that the restaurant had been started 34 years previously by his grandfather. It was obvious that someone at least in the family was a perfectionist, judging not just by the food and by decor (which was a cut above most Indian restaurants), but by what one of the party said about the cleanliness of the male toilet he visited! The meal ended with the offering to us of hot serviettes and mint chocolates, which was a nice touch.

We dine here on a regular basis. The service from the staff is warm and friendly they are very attentive to their customers needs. The food is second to none by far the best Indian in the telford area. Yes it maybe a little bit more expensive than some others but you surely get your money's worth. Always a pleasure to dine here.

I ordered my food to take away, I had to wait for 40 minutes. I think the best option next time would be to phone my order through first. The food was good, so I will return.

Arrived on time a nd there was no record of booking (re checked phone was booked 8 days before),fair play they got us in.sat by kitchen and when the door opened we all got coughing fit from the smoke. Popadoms were soft not crispy, all starters were very nice.main meals were nice flavour but they mixed some up so I ate mine very nice but not what I ordered,my brother him law had mine didn't like it so had to wait for another to be cooked.my father inlaw paid the bill without our knowledge and didn't get anything knocked off the bill,he says he won't return even though it's close to home

first time we have been, had two relatives over from america that had never tasted Indian food before, as soon as we walked in we had a warm greeting from one of the waiters who showed us to our table and seated all 6 of us with no problem, we then were asked quite promptly what drinks we would like and the starter arrived quite quickly too considering it is all homemade, the service was excellent, the waiters even served our food onto our plates as and when we required and they gave recommendations to our american relatives who did not know what to choose as they have never had Indian food before, overall the service and food was outstanding, we could not fault it one bit, we will defiantly be back in the future as we only live in aqueduct
