Reviews of The Furnace Kitchen

What a wonderful venue! We arrived for brunch on a Sunday, the menu was full of options. The food and coffee were very good and enjoyed by all. The atmosphere is great with great decor and attentive, happy waiting staff.
The venue is very disabled friendly with a flat entrance with no steps, an electronic door and plenty of room between tables. Parking is right outside and although chargeable, can be paid via a website without having to get to the payment machine.
Highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

Lovely friendly place.
(menu a little on the pricey side) but the salmon salad that I had got my taste buds working overtime. Such a combination of different flavours that all went together.
Went down well with the pot of mint tea.
ANPR pay as you leave car park.

Great food options for adults and kids, nice lay out and decor. Service was fab, really helpful, friendly, quick and personable. Place was reasonably busy and had a good vibe. One of the best eateries we have been to at a museum type place. Son enjoyed nearby Enginuity and Parents enjoyed nearby iron museum!

Not as good now they have rearranged the furniture - it doesn't feel as cosy. But the food is still good and they do one of the best coffees in telford! Staff are always friendly and polite.

Great breakfast, been many times. Worst thing is you have to pay for parking even though your not visiting the museums. Needs to be addressed, would of given 5 *

Food here is great and the menu offers a good choice, although I think some of the options on the menu are a bit overpriced. When we went there restaurant was not particularly busy and we waited about thirty minutes for a sandwich order to be prepared and served. Staff were friendly and helpful and served our drinks order really quick, but kitchen staff seemed to be taking a long time to get food orders out. Sandwiches were excellent.

It’s really nice in here, nice clean cafe with pictures etc. but . . .
It’s a bit confusing. You have to wait to be seated even though there’s plenty of space. They do table service but the cakes are next to the counter so asking for that pastry is actually problematic. Interestingly, too, we are too late for breakfast (stops at 11:00) and too early for lunch (starts at 12:00). It’s too late to change our minds, too, because we’ve already paid to park. This kind of sitting and waiting for coffee and cake seems too much.

Loved the decor and how it is laid out. We only had coffee which were very good. Nice toilets.

Stopped here on a walk through Coalbrookdale. Nice that it's open to anyone, not just museum visitors. Very friendly and helpful. Really nice setting in the Museum of Iron, modern and clean with indoor & outdoor seating. We only had coffee and scones but these were very good and would be happy to go back again.

Excellent food full of flavours good vegetarian selection too.
Lovely atmosphere great coffee ☕️ and milk shakes.

A bit pricy but the food was good and there are gluten free options for burger and pizza lovers although GF cake options are limited to the ubiquitous brownie, sigh! Plenty of space and lots of parking but not free as it is linked to the museum.

I had a bacon & sausage roll last Friday + a coffee and paid£10.45.I thought l must be in London.

This is a nice restaurant. The food is good and high quality whilst not charging stupid prices. The coffee is good and the Pizza we had on the Friday evening was outstanding. Don't expect a Pepperoni or Hawaiian tho, if that's your jam. The staff are super friendly too. As a downside parking isn't free as it's part of the museum. But it is pay by card with numberplate recognition and will likely just cost a couple of quid if you're only eating.

Always enjoy the food here, service good too. Advisable to book at lunchtimes.

Amazing venue, great service lovely food, overall a freat night

The food here is delicious. Perhaps it's the pandemic but it is clearly suffering for want of experienced staff as the service is puzzlingly slow even when nearly empty and the coffee is pretty awful - good quality coffee used but there is no discernable difference between a cappuccino and a flat white when ordered and both served burnt with next to no foam. A pity as this place has so much to offer. Outside seating cushions also pretty grubby.

Good coffee and very pleasant & helpful staff - set in the historic setting of Coalbrookdale just a few steps away from the Abraham Darby 1 furnace which changed the world.

Consistently good service, friendly staff and lovely food served in a great place. Really like it here as does everyone I've recommended it to.

Warm and friendly staff. Food was hot and tasty. Plenty of parking, or you can walk from Ironbridge and take in the views on the way.

Lovely location and food with very polite staff but I got to say service was very slow and they got it wrong 3 times and that meant another 10 minute wait t while they came back.
Also, they kept turning people away as they hadn't reserved but there were loads of free tables and we found it impossible to book on the website anyway.
I rarely give less than 5 stars but service means this only gets 3.
Probably deserves less but they we so nice I couldn't do it

Some of best food, service and atmosphere. Thank you for a fab Sunday family gathering in a perfect setting. Well done to Marcus and Team

Great discovery. Following a superb breakfast we returned for lunch on another day. Who knew that Gnocchi could be that light and delicious? Wonderful cooking, good ideas, seasoning and sure touches. Friendly staff and modern restaurant. Could possibly have a dessert/pudding of the day.

We came for breakfast, arriving at 10.50 to be told that breakfast was served until 11am so we could not order breakfast and would need to wait until 12 for lunch. The staff were very polite about it but we're perplexed about how to deal with an influx of people coming in at this time. As we have paid for parking we stayed for coffee and cake. It is such a shame that we felt badly treated as the cafe is beautiful, clean and wonderfully presented. The coffee was very nice and the cakes were lovely too.

We had a great meal in the Furnace Kitchen, the slow-cooked lamb special pizza was excellent. The atmosphere and interior are really nice, and it's nice comfortable place to chill out. The staff were very friendly too, so would definitely visit again next time we're in Ironbridge.

Delicious food, great coffee and friendly service in a bright, modern and stylish venue. Really good location for meeting up with friends for brunch, lunch or coffee but as its next to Enginuity and part of the Ironbridge Museums its also great as part of a family day out. Can't wait to try one of their evenings - pizza nights etc., sounds amazing and the pizza is gorgeous!
G. F.
Lovely breakfast and extra hot latte requested! 😁
A. W.
We enjoyed an outside break here eating lovely brioche buns with portabello mushrooms and Appleby's double Gloucester cheese with spinach, along with a bottle of ginger beer. Pleasant experience and Covid safe as well.
R. E.
Always good quality. Inside and out door seating. Lovely staff. Just need a wider variety of cakes on offer !

B. W.
Very stylish! Great food and fab service - we loved it. Lunch was delicious, service was excellent - really friendly team - and we finished off with a scrummy white hot chocolate. Highly recommend.
J. D.
Fabulous place, really gorgeous interior and very stylish. We shared a deli board which was very tasty. The other options looked very tempting too - particularly the stone-baked pizza’s. Great coffee too.
R. B.
Concept great just happens to be in the wrong place. Given that families will be visiting from the various museums (as we were) the menu does not really cater for the audience. I was having lunch with a client in a place like this in London the week before with prices being similar. In summary if you don't mind paying 8.00 for a sandwich and over 3.00 for chips near Ironbridge then go for it. Not good value for where it is I am afraid.
D. K.
Wonderful takeaway food (bacon and egg sandwich/fresh soups/pizzas/chicken sandwiches) and friendly brilliant staff. Excellent coffees too.
Really recommend.
M. R.
Friendly service, coffee was reasonably tasty, the best feature was the toilets. They were nicely appointed, very clean and smelt lovely. This place sets the benchmark for café toilet facilities, bravo!
J. A.
Good coffee and scone set in lovely setting very industrial in keeping with the area sadly service lacked a bit of warmth and we had the dreaded wonky table that the manager fixed by screwing the leg adjusters why you wouldn't do that pre service otherwise pleasant

What fabulous staff. Boxing day birthday.. but ful.of cold. Excellent attentive staff, who confidently and politely advised of being busy and short staffed...but still delivered 100 percent . Thanks for making my day ❤

Think of a place where people go to chill after a walk or just sit and read the Sunday Papers... This is it...
R. H.
Sandwiches are absolutely huge and seriously good fillings. Great atmosphere with a relaxed vibe and super friendly staff. Recommend even without a museum visit.
