Visited on Friday as in area , I originally booked for night after but staff more than happy for us to change. Atmosphere super friendly and relaxed, decor really nice and authentic. We ordered lager and the sharing platter for 2 , presented nicely , was really tasty definitely be going back 😋

Food was really good, I had chicken wings and mutton curry. The wings were definitely my top 3 best wings I ever had. Very disappointed with the curry, it left me with a lot to be desired. My friend had a chicken burger apparently it was his top five burger he ever had. He said better than Bookoos. 🥹😆 Service was quick. Friendly customer service and staff. We were lucky to seat down without booking, must have been due to to England v France game.

Fantastic family-run restaurant. Laura & Shane found a table for us at the end of a busy Saturday evening, and they were still able to provide a wonderful atmosphere. First time eating freshly cooked South African cuisine; everything in the sharing platter was excellent. We left full and happy, with a bottle of homemade sauce and a reignited love for Amarula.

A really nice and cosy restaurant with a friendly staff. I've been already two times and the food is amazing, never had south African food before and I love it. I just had one of their vegetarian burger options, one of four. I was pleasantly surprised it was very good. There was another vegetarian option that also sounded interesting, I have to visit again just to try it out. My wife and daughter had ribs, they were both very pleased with their meals. I feel like one of the last people to discover this place but what a find! The food is excellent and the service beyond excellent always. My husband and I have tried a few of their burgers so far and they are sublime. We have a little boy and the staff are always so thoughtful of his needs - which we appreciate so much. A few tables available so very cozy and booking is a must. We got the smothered chicken and vegetable bunny chow. The chicken was perfect and the rosemary chips were fantastic. The curry was so flavorful and huge. We had a great a meal.

First time we had visited and we were impressed! We both had Bunny Chows, which were curries in half loaves. They were fab, tasty and the right amount of spice to them. They were very filling, which sadly meant we had no room for dessert or to try an alcoholic milkshake, but it has given us an excuse to go back! The owner who served us was very friendly and took the time to chat to us about the concept and history. Definitely recommended.

Absolute beast of a burger, The Hornet jumbo'd with added bacon! Just picked the whole filthy lot up and mauled it. Both 12oz patties were delicious and the heat was just enough to know that you were playing with fire if you wanted it. Another friend doubled up on the Fire Blade (which had a heat warning notice) and also smashed it. The service was very welcoming and friendly, would ten out of ten come back for more and recommend to any food lover! Cream cheese oozing out was superb, and a welcome cooler from the South African heat, the cheese stuffed burgers were superb and the meal as a whole was to die for, washed down with a few Savannah ciders and the whole experience was a real winner. Finished that lot off with the Brownie Ice Cream Sundae with some crushed mint aero, what a beast of a meal! Job well done Chorley's! Top spot well deserved!

What a great little unexpected treat!! This little gem of a restaurant, tucked away down the side of the cathedral, is by far one of the best places I have eaten, EVER! From the exterior you would never know what delights await you. The interior is clean and minimal but the welcome could not have been warmer and the food was so unbelievably good, there was not one thing that was not spectacularly tasty. We will be going back and taking family and friends with us. I suggest you do the same, you will not regret it!!

Enjoyed a wonderful evening meal for two; the food was delicious, the portions generous and the family run business vibe was super friendly and genuine. If you're a first timer to this eatery, choose the plater. You will have the best experience of South African food The bunny chow was by far the best,the curry flavors were outstanding. Basting sauce on the chicken wings was another hit. The sausage (boerevors) was a big big disappointment 😞, very dry like desert sand and the ribs were the same, both obviously pre cooked . Would I eat here again?, Maybe not.

Amazing South African food, I had the Vors hotdog and my wife had the Bee burger, best food we have had on our trip to Cornwall (and we have eaten a lot of good food). Our 2 young kids liked their chicken and chips. The owner was very welcoming and accomodating. Seems very popular as most other customers seemed to be regulars.

My wife was looking somewhere to go for her birthday but sadly a lot of places in Cornwall close on Tuesdays, but she came across Chorley's which has been described as similar to Nando's but this is a one off and not a chain. There was 4 of us, and we all couldn't fault the food, my mate had a Veg Bunny, we never heard him talk for the rest of the meal as he was loving it so much, I wasn't so hungry so just had the chicken breast and rosemary fries (hmmmmm YYPB)which I couldn't fault at all, except for it being bigger than I was expecting, sadly none of us had the corn fritas but they looked good, and several people commented as such. I would wholey recommend the Don Pedro's aswell as who doesn't like a alcoholic milkshake? The staff were so friendly and helpful it made the place so welcoming and we'll definitely be going back. Make sure you phone ahead though and book, as this place is EXTREMELY busy, and they were taking bookings all evening.

Only small down side is you have to go out and around for the loo which isn't a massive issue it's just a little cold in the winter. We were so happy to have found this little gem on the last day of our holiday in Cornwall yesterday. Having lived in South Africa for 28 years we grew to love the traditional food of the country. The food and service was excellent. One member of our party had never tasted South African food before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We cannot stop talking about our experience. The staff are friendly and made us feel 'at home'. A big big thank you to Renè, Laura and Susie for making our Grandson's birthday so special. Went here on 11th September 2018 with a favourite human of mine, who is South African and confirmed that the food here is authentic. In fact, I've never seen him so excited over something! Great food and fabulous service, reasonably priced too! Genuinely nice people who are enthusiastic and passionate about what they are doing, you can hear it in the chaps voice which is refreshing! Admittedly the place is small BUT you have to give them credit for running a restaurant serving authentic cuisine which is different to the 'norm' (like Chinese, Italian etc), making the size of the place justified from a business perspective, taking into account their location also. One of two South African restaurants in Cornwall I do believe. So, fair play to them! We went on the Tuesday which was quieter for anyone who may prefer it to be, despite the closing time there was not even a wiff that we had surpassed it, very relaxing vibe! Again I cannot stress enough just how genuinely fantastic people they are and I wish them all the best with the future of their restaurant as they indeed deserve it!

We came here based on the strength of the reviews and were not disappointed. The restaurant is tiny, so definitely advise booking a table in advance. It is family run and everyone is super friendly and welcoming, and know their dishes inside and out because they created them! My husband had the half rack of ribs smothered in the Chorley's BBQ sauce and said they were the tastiest ribs he's ever had. I had the bunny chow, which was a veggie curry served in a hollowed out loaf of bread. Also very tasty and with the right amount of spice. If I was to give one piece of constructive criticism it would be that I would have liked to have had a bit of vegetarian protein in the curry. It was very filling being served in bread, but if I had just had it with rice I think it would be great to have some chickpeas or jackfruit, or even quorn pieces thrown in to 'beef' it up a bit. We then had a traditional South African dessert to share and you could tell it was home made. Just be aware that the traditional desserts, because they are made in house, are not all permanently available. We weren't fussy about which one we tried, but if you are craving a particular one it may be best to call ahead and check. Finally, we picked up a bottle of the famed Chorley's smokey mild BBQ sauce. Since bringing it home we have used it on practically everything, it is just that good. And this comes from someone who doesn't like traditional bbq sauce! Yes, the food is good here and it's something a bit different, but I think what keeps people coming back are the family who run this. They genuinely care about their customer's experience and it shows

This evening was our first visit to Chorleys in Truro and what a lovely few hours it was. We were greeted and seated by the owner and offered drinks whilst looking at the menu. The food itself was absolutely amazing, full of flavour, nice and spicy and at a great price. There was alot to choose from but we went for their curry... simply delicious! Often walked past here when in Truro. Wasn't really sure how the bal maiden would cope with roast warthog or wildebeest ribs. After all fish n chips aren't fish n chips unless they're from Lewis's. Needless to say we didnt have roast warthog etc. But we had their light bite lunch a hotdog kind of sausage and chicken wings. Covered in a choice of sauce, that's where the connection was! I've heard of chorleys sauce just didn't make the connection to an eatery. Anyway dishes come with fries and salad. Really very very tasty. Pudding was a treacle sponge and something akin to a frappe. Again very nice. Friendly folk who for the eco minded recycle everything and use biodegradable straws, they also put money into saving rhinos back where the family originate. For the community minded, they sponsor a local school and support the children's ward at RCHT! For the rest of us flavour, flavour, flavour. It is a small place so I would book ahead and you most definitely must come and try their menu. (What am I talking about?...no don't visit here). As popularity grows with these guys they may have to move to larger premises. If your meal isn't tasty enough, they also sell their sauces too!

Looking for somewhere different to eat in Truro, found great reviews on tripadvisor, for chorley's South African restaurant, gave it a try, and wasn't disappointed, we had a meat platter for 2 and whow we struggle in the end, ha, very pleasant owners, have no issues in recommending it, look it up give it a go.
