Took our Dad to Manning's for his 80th last Saturday night and wasn't disappointed. Wow. Absolutely stunning restaurant at this hotel. The food was outstanding. If I could afford to eat here each week I would. Haha. Friendly funny staff made us feel at home and kept the drinks coming. Right in the centre of Truro Cornwall this place can't be missed.

2nd time here. Food is lovely, worth spending few extra pounds though like someone has reviewed, drinks are bit pricey. I spoke to manager in 2nd time visit about service that we have felt rushed throughout the dinner so much so that they came with bill when we were not finished or had asked for the bill. We wanted to pay the bill after we finished our drinks but staff came with the machine. It’s not that we were over staying. We were well within our 2 hours slot and more so there were many empty tables around. Front of house staff overlook on essentials like all tables had water and we didn’t so had to ask, no spoon with the dessert, had to ask.. got a big spoon for a small goblet of dessert. He apologised and gave some explanation and that was that. Would someone not offer something for inconvenience, a discount on next meal or some gesture? After all it’s a well established business. I was reading other reviews after this and there is one from a staff who worked there. Quite a scary one. So not sure if we would go back. It is such a pity as we want food industry to do well in present climate.

Staff are great people all willing to adapt to everyone's needs, whether you want to have a joke and laugh or rather be just waited on, always smiling and the food is superb never had a bad meal in the mannings. I've been staying at the hotel for three weeks and it's been a pleasure every day.

Great food and greeting while quiet. As it got busier staff seemed a bit unprepared. After removing mains no extra drinks order was taken or menus for dessert offered. We waited for 20 minutes and then got the bill. Overall was a great choice but maybe look at the busy times before booking

It felt like the restaurant was trying to be more than it was in reality. The prawn pasta wasn't that great. The pasta was overcooked and far too much to overcompinsate for the few prawns in the dish. The risotto was meant to have asparagus in it but that was substituted with courgettes. The ice cream was nice and a substantial dessert. The local customers were unwelcoming and made it obvious they didn't like tourists in the town. Disappointing as the menu reads well but doesn't really deliver.

Absolutely first class dining every time I eat here. I adore Mannings restaurant and their cocktails are amazing. The staff are all wonderful and I would highly recommend to anyone. Consider that most pub food costs a minimum of £13 per meal or almost £20 for a steak, Mannings is only a few pounds more for their cheapest meals on their menus and the food and service is leaps ahead of anywhere else I've been. If you love dining out and haven't tried here then please do because you're in for a real treat 😍 our starter on the occasion I took this photos, was the tempura king prawns, main was the chef's own take on beef wellington (phenomenal) and desert was chocolate lava cake. Their menu does change seasonally too so always new things to try too.

We have just vome back from a delicious meal at Mannings, it was our 25th anniversary and wanted something special, and this place did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the cocktails huge and the staff were so cheerful, especially our waitress Charlotte! The waitress we had in black blouse was extremely plesent and nothing was too much issue! However the supervisor above her was to be honest rude to other diners and staff.

Great staff and excellent food. The restaurant has a refined yet cosy feel to it and it seems to be popular with both locals and tourists. The service was fast and the food was reasonably priced considering the high quality on offer. Placed at the end of Truro's Lemon Quay, it makes the perfect place for pre theatre meals for those attending performances at the Hall for Cornwall.

Been around for a long time,one of the long established eateries in Truro, not eaten there for a while but never had anything to complain about, varied menu, you can visit just for coffee or a beer in the lounge area, relaxed atmosphere, may pay to book if eating, tends to get busy.
