J. S.Great vegan restaurant that even the meat eaters enjoyed! One even said it was there favourite meal of our holiday! We are a group of 6 so booked ahead for a table and they were lovely on the phone to help accommodate us. Service was good and the food was great! As a vegan it was brilliant to have the choice of the entire menu! I went with the pasta of the day, which was mac and cheese and it was lovely. Two of the meat eater went for the chicken burger and loved it. Also another member who really enjoyed their had the mushroom fusion. Also a shout out for the gravy too. Everything was lovely, would recommend for all not just vegans.
P. V.So myself and my wife came away from our birthdays and as my wife is vegan she researed somewhere to eat. The Cornish Vegan jumped out in front of her so not to be disappointed she emailed ahead to guarantee a place, Wow she did good.
The food was second to none and the staff were very knowledgeable and made us feel welcomed, when we asked a few questions the chef came out and even should us some of the foods and brands he uses. Thank you guy's you both made our weekend very memorable 👍😍 Paul and Mandi (Cardiff )

But more importantly, owners (Rob and another man - I didn't get his name) were keen to check in with everyone who came to the restaurant to see if they were enjoying the food. Beyond that, we really resonated with their ethos as they just wanted to get more people to try plant based food.
They were so happy to chat with us about their journeys too - whatever they're doing, they're on the right track. The next big vegan thing! Definitely recommend you hit them up for a night of good food, drink and vibes :)
S. V.We searched for this place I'm advance as it had both vegan and gluten free options. We didn't expect such a warm welcome from the owner we felt like we were at home. All the staff were so kind and helped us with our twins throughout. We would have eaten here every day of we could. Best fish and chips and the Ruben. All better than anything I've had in a very very long time. They even gave my husband a birthday card. Just the loveliest place.

Z. C.Excellent Vegan Restaurant! We had travelled all the way up from Oxford and sadly could not find anywhere that would cater for our requirements. The Cornish Vegan however, put our minds (and stomachs!) at ease with their range of mouth watering vegan dishes.

P. H.So there's a small step up into the restaurant, it' has a quirky and welcoming vibe inside with plenty of menu choices. Really good food, really great food for vegan. Try those super delicious cakes... I defy you to tell them apart from regular great cake!

Even though we are vegan I’d definitely recommend to non vegans or vegetarians.

Went for my birthday and the owners Graham & Rob gave me a card, which was a lovely gesture.
The courtyard at the back has been done up nicely with heaters for those cold evenings.
I cannot speak highly enough of the food. As a family of non-vegans, if you want an introduction to vegan food then this is the place for you.
PLEASE utilise a commodity like this as independent eateries within our local communities are what make Cornwall such a wonderful place to live.
Don't let it turn into so many other stand alone establishments that are only ever talked about when they've closed down.
Put money back into local independent businesses and you won't be disappointed.
The effort this small business owner put into helping us feel welcome, explaining any questions we had about the food and taking the time to talk with us really stood out, and looking forward to visiting again in the near future.
R. K.Wonderful restaurant! We ate four different dishes and enjoyed all of them! You couldn't tell it was vegan. The garden in the back is very cute and servers were kind.

It was quite warm inside but there is a garden section at the back, which I wish I remembered about!

Accessibility wise there are some steps to toilet, and most areas are fairly level. Child friendly atmosphere and no music is playing.
I was so pleased with the customer service, nothing was a problem and they were very warm and welcoming. I just wish we had more of this where I live.

J. C.Friendly staff but poor quality of food. The flavours were basic and unimaginative, a lack of love and passion went into the making of the food I felt!! The restaurant allows dogs and the garden terrace is a quiet and creative spot. They offered a dog water bowl and vegetarian treats which was lovely!

J. P.Popped in on a Sunday for a lunch and it is a delight to have so many choices on the menu! Salad was fresh, tagliatelle carbonara was so full of flavour, Reuben burger was delicious. My 2 year old loved the food too and staff were so calm and friendly even when they were not fully staffed, we didn't have to wait but if we did it would be worth it.

M.We visited Truro from Rock for the day on the hunt for some vegan scones as it was "national cream tea day" (shocking how little choice there is for vegan scones in Cornwall... but food choices are improving every year so that's nice!). We bought the scones after we had some lunch (the hot reuben and the hot dog with the cheese fries) and believe me when I tell you that sandwich was one of the best I've ever eaten and I've added sauerkraut to my shopping list to recreate it myself. The cheese sauce on the fries doesn't harden when it cools (what is this sorcery!?) and it's made of vegetables (!!), not ultra-processed junk. It was SO GOOD. The staff were very friendly, prices really reasonable and the actual place is really cute. The atmosphere was nice and we will hopefully be able to pop in again on our next trip. Book a table - so many people got turned down while we were there as it fills up quick, which is a testament to how good it is. Also, grab a blondie while you're there. Yep, we really filled our boots. Thanks guys! :)

O. B.The best vegan restaurant in all of Cornwall. Since the new owners Rob and Graham took over we have had both a sit down meal in the 'Greek taverna' inspired courtyard and also a takeaway, and we have been absolutely blown away by the quality of all the dishes we have tried (and we have tried almost all of them!). The portions are a generous size and the flavours are terrific. Our favourite dishes are probably the tofish and chips, the Reuben sandwich, and the poutine, which we haven't been able to find a vegan version of since our year living in Canada....but really you can't go wrong with any dish! If you can manage it, do what we do and just order everything on the menu haha.
On top of everything the owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet. In fact all of the staff are lovely. They are always happy to have a chat, are very responsive to customer feedback and just can't do enough for you.
I highly recommend this place to everyone, vegan or not.

The food was delicious (best vegan fish and chips in the South West, fight me), the service from Graham and the team was excellent, friendly and fun, and the newly built and opened outdoor seating area has a cosy, yet summery feel to it. As someone who loathes vegan cheese normally, it really means a lot when I say their carbornara wss incredible. My partner had the mac and cheese, which was equally incredible. They didn’t have any clotted cream so they made us some fresh after saying how much we wanted to try it. R. R.Visited Cornish Vegan this weekend. Service was good and easy to book table online. I ordered the vegan burger and fries. Chips were nice, but I didn't like the vegan 'cheese' used with the burger. It seemed to have been seasoned with onion powder (or something like that), so I wasn't overly keen on the taste (or after taste for that matter). Personally, I think a vegan cheese slice would have been better and there are a lot of good products out there. I believe they now use the 'Beyond Burger' and I like these burger patties. I would also have toasted the bun on the inside (unless this was the case, but I hadn't noticed).
Flat white was okay, I think my friends had the better made ones; but it was good to see that they use Oatly barista milk for the coffees. Overall, I found the food was okay. My friends enjoyed their food though, so my score reflects my personal views.
A lot of the food on the menu was what I would call 'junk food' (e.g. nachos, a hotdog, 'fish & chips' and a burger) whereas it would have been nice to have a couple more 'healthier' options, such as the Thai red curry option on their menu or perhaps a mezze board with hummus, falafel, etc.?
I do a lot of vegan home-cooking, so I am quite fussy when it comes to eating out, and I have quite high expectations when it comes to all-vegan cafes and restaurants. M. N.Upon planning my trip to Cornwall, I decided to look into vegan Cream Tea'. The first result that came up was 'The Cornish Vegan' and so I put it in the planner.
After arriving, I was warmly greeted into the cafe by the friendly staff. After being sat at a comfortable table and chairs, I briefly browsed through the menu for myself and my two picky children. Whilst I was viewing the menu, the staff brought over colouring books and crayons for my kids.
The staff came back over, orders for food and drink were placed and the staff helped to advise on kids food and drink. The hot chocolates with marshmallows for the kids, and pots of tea arrived for the adults along with the scones with jam and clotted cream, all of which was very morish and delicious! The kids nuggets and chips arrived which they both happily tucked into! After that, the kids munched through a slice of brownie, we paid and left happy.
The staff were very friendly, the food was very tasty and the prices were very reasonable! Would recommend this to anyone with an appetite for vegan food!

What a spectacular venue!
We were met with a beautiful table by the window with a view of the Truro street scene.
We were quickly seen by our waitress who was very helpful and assisted in making sure we had everything we needed. The venue is beautiful. As a vegan it was well set out and had a beautiful arrangement of cakes set out. There is also further information about vegetarianism and veganism set out nearby. The food was amazing. Best vegan restaurant I have visited. I had a 'fish' and chips which was the best version I have ever had. My wife had a sandwich called a 'grilled ruben' which was well presented and she tells me was fantastic! The children had 'chicken' and chips which they adapted for my 3 year old who fancied toast instead. No issues at all with the slight menu change! We were kindly prepared a anniversary dessert of 4 taster chocolate brownie which was incredible and hard to believe is vegan (converted in the last 5 years so hard to convince me normally!). We shared a cornish tea as a dessert (we decided to go all out today). Children highly rated an ice cream! The cornish cream tea was the best ever!! We did love the clotted cream which was well produced. I would wholly recommend The Cornish Vegan as a venue. Best vegan restaurant we have visited to date! Thank you so much to the team for making our day!!

R. D.What a treat to find this restaurant on my day exploring Truro. My first visit was on my way from the railway station when I stopped for cappuccino and pistachio cake. This was so good I decided to pop back for lunch when I had the bbq pulled jackfruit (messy to eat but delicious), coffee and cake to take away.
They are a great advocate for veganism as they take exceptional care providing great food, efficient service in a spotlessly clean and friendly environment.
My only gripe is that they have no plans to open an outlet nearer to my home town.
