A real gem of a place. Hosted a romantic secret birthday meal for the mrs here and they were very cooperative and helpful in receiving the cake from the supplier, looking after it and presenting it with a song on the day. The food itself is a beautiful mixture of Nepal and India. Being raised on Indian food, it was a great experience trying somewhat familiar dishes with Nepalese invention. Every dish landed with vibrant colours, fragrant spices and deep rich flavours. The staff were great, super considerate and the fun type of chatty. We had a fantastic time. Thanks for the memories Yak & Yeti!

It was my first experience here although my friends I dined with come often and I can see why. Everything about what I ate and drank here was perfect. The meal was delicious and the sauce my particular dish came in was divine! If you want an authentic and superb treat of Nepalese cuisine eat here!

The best onion bhaji in town, by a country mile! Ordered food for delivery, early on a Wednesday evening. Arrived very promptly. All very tasty, no complaints about a couple of free papadums. Main courses are quite large, you'll have someone to share with if you're lucky. I have vague and blurry memories of sitting down to eat in the restaurant a few years ago. Great views from the rear courtyard of the old BT building. Staff were friendly and accommodating, up to a point.

We called in for an early dinner before seeing a show at the Hall for Cornwall. The food was first class, in fact it was one of the best Indians I’ve ever had. First class service as well means it’s an easy 5 stars from me.

Staying in Truro for a holiday - we were excited to find a Nepalese and were not disappointed! We ordered 5 mains to share and every dish was fantastic - particularly recommend the Machha Fishtail 🤤. Staff seemed super friendly when I collected too, and stopping on the doubles temporarily (as long as you don't block the buses) nearby seemed common for all the takeaways there so pickup was easy. If we're in Truro again, we'll definitely be back 👍👍

First time visiting Yak & Yeti won’t be the last! Delicious meal and lovely service. I had the Chana Masala which was super flavourful. They have so many veggie options and you have the option to request a curry if they don’t do it on the menu. Reasonably priced and big portions 👍🏻

Amazing food, and superb service. We ordered for 9 and every meal was fantastic. One of the best curries I’ve ever had. A mistake with the Just Eat app meant we ordered 12 onion salads instead of a selection of chutneys, the restaurant phoned and let us know and called the deliver driver back and swapped the onion salads for chutneys, amazing service, thank you. The food and service was amazing. We were a group of three and we couldn’t decide what to order. We were recommended a selection of dishes. Three different curries , side dishes , rices and breads. The quality of the food was the best I’ve eaten in many years. The service was so friendly and efficient, I will definitely return the next time I’m in Truro.

Such an awesome place, food was great! So good and perfect amount of spice. And then the owner took us back to our accommodation free of charge so we didn't have to pay for a taxi! Also made a stop at sainsburys to get supplies. Phenomenal service. What a legend!

Simply the most delicious Nepalese food ever. A beautiful family run restaurant. Fortunately for me almost on my doorstep, I'm Blessed. Best Nepalese & Indian Restaurant/Takeaway in the area by a long way. Great atmosphere and delicious food (the Kathmandu Jeera in particular is always amazing). Sunny and his team always provide a great experience and I always take family and friends there when we want to eat out in Truro.

I've been coming to the Yak and Yeti for 10 years now and the food has always been absolutely incredible and delicious! The staff are so lovely and Sunny always makes us feel extra special. Easily the best Nepalese restaurant in Truro! I cannot highly recommend this place enough. I will continue coming back to this place for many years to come the food here has never disappointed and has always been delicious. Thank you for always cooking amazing food and big portions!

If you want bog standard same old - same old Indian food then don't go here! The only Indian restaurant worth it's salt is Yak and Yeti. Fresh ingredients, inventive menu and old favourites just well cooked. Not oily, not what they THINK you want, it's actually how it should be. The staff and manager are so friendly and chatty, it's almost as much fun having chat as it is eating the food! Whether you eat in or takeaway, there's no difference in quality. Well worth a visit 👍

Wonderful Nepalese food. The staff are welcoming and relaxed, and the dishes I ordered were highly enjoyable. There was a fair wait on the food, but this was reflected in the ‘homemade’ quality. Some things were hotter and more chilli-packed than described, but that might just be a cultural thing!

I went to place an order in restaurant. The lady that served me was extremely friendly and told me the food would be about 10-15 minutes. So we decided to go and get some food for our little one. A pleasant surprise! The staff were incredibly accommodating, despite being rushed off their feet with many other tables. The starters were delectable, and for the main I had a monkfish curry which was fresh and beautifully flavoured - the waiter even took the time to explain what spices were used to me. If you favour non greasy, interesting curries I'd highly recommend this place!

Delicious food. Called in without a reservation and were fortunate to get the last table for four. The staff were very friendly, we were able to adapt meals (paneer instead of chicken), the menu choices were plentiful, the food came quickly and best of all, it tasted great! I came to Truro for work and this was the first place I walked into looking for an evening meal. I'm working in the area for 8 days and this is my fourth visit. If that doesn't tell you how excited I am about the food here then nothing will. I have even saved it as my final dinner place. Staff here are super sweet and non intrusive, as a lone diner it's hard to find a good eatery where you aren't questioned throughout your meal. If you are in Truro I strongly suggest at least one dining experience here. Happy eating. x

Friendly and helpful staff who helped me to decide on what to order as I'm not very good with too spicy food but wanted to experience the Nepalese flavours. Quick service and we didn't feel rushed at all. As I'm a smoker it was extremely handy that out in the back was a table and chairs, it can be embarrassing standing in the street to smoke! Price was reasonable considering that we were there for 2hrs, a bottle of pino grigio was £15 & I can't remember the exact bill but it was around £50-£60 for 2 people with starters and the wine. I will definitely go back & have recommended it to friends already.

I thought that I won't care about the reviews, and I'll forget about that one time, they took almost two hours...but ... this time... again...and no discount, nothing. I even asked the driver how much it was and thought that he'll say...something like.."sorry, for being late, we give you a discount.." or if they knew it will take so long, maybe they should give something extra, like a side ?!? I even phoned them... to ask if everything is ok, and can the driver find my address.. I must admit that yes food tasted good, nothing fantastic, but yeah very good-but than I guess it would taste exactly the same if it was homemade from scratch. food was hot..so I reckon they just made it, and thought that the takeaway customers are less important.../unfortunately...after two years ...it happened again... Was ich besonders gut finde ist, dass die Menükarte auch Angaben dazu macht wie scharf die Gerichte sind. Auf Wunsch kann aber auch ein scharfes Gericht in abgemildeter Form bestellt werden. Immer wieder gerne! (Translated) The food was great. The service too. Definitely choose the bread as a side dish next to the rice. What I particularly like is that the menu also gives information about how spicy the dishes are. On request, a spicy dish can also be ordered in a milder form. Always my pleasure!
