Reviews of Bridge Barn Beefeater
R. B.
Good restaurant next to the canal in Woking. We had nice salads and the children liked their food. Reasonable price. Slow service and loaded fries were quite small. But good otherwise.
M.
Great food and really friendly staff, occasionally a bit of a wait but I would rather that than and have a quality meal.
S. K.
This visit the steaks were spot on, has to be said it is a bit hit or miss, as sometimes we go and its all great and other times food is being returned as steak not cooked to order or reduced quality of the meat, but we always come back eventually.
staff are great i think the servers name is Sue we seem to have her all the time and shes great, more than helpful and friendly.
Always top notch service fast and efficient and they dont rush you constantly like most places, so we have plenty of time to chat and enjoy are meal without being pestered.
H. H.

The service was excellent but delivery problems caused some items on the menu to be unavailable. That's the only reason for 3 stars.
Our meals were nicely presented and delicious and I am certain you won't be disappointed. This Beefeater is picturesque, nicely converted from an old barn.
Recommended.
P. S.
Absolutely brilliant service from the excellent Katie B. What an outstanding team member, as nothing was too much trouble. We had booked a table downstairs as one of our party has mobility issues, and Katy was so helpful and patient.
We had a great meal, attentive service and a really great way to enjoy a birthday gathering.
Will we be back? Without a shadow of a doubt.
Many congratulations to Katie B and the kitchen team too, as well as the other team members.
Great onsite parking too.
J. E.
Went there excited for their roast dinners only to be told they'd sold out.. although we were gutted they more than made up for it with excellently attentive customer service and delicious food. Highly recommend
M. B.
Excellent food and service. Bar manager didn’t have the wine we wanted, however, came to our table to apologise and discuss what red wine he had to offer. Sunday roast is excellent and amazing value for money 👍🏻 The waitress Sue is excellent and always goes above and beyond to make your visit pleasurable.
S. B.
Brilliant restaurant! Arrived today, hadn't pre booked but wasn’t an issue. Food was amazing, really well cooked and came out piping hot. The staff were friendly and welcoming and all requested tweaks to our orders were dealt with without any hassle.
Lovely and quiet location next to the canal. We will definitely eat here again!
P. P.
Had a delicious breakfast - poached eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, baked beans, English muffins with syrup. Food was good, but I'm reviewing our server - Josh. What a sweet, friendly, attentive, polite and welcoming young man. Thank you for making our experience such a pleasant one.
B. S.
My local hangout for dinner. We go here often for family celebration. The food is of good quality. Always able to assist with allergies and cater well for individuals needs.
The staff are respectful and understand any changes that need to be made to an order if you suffer from allergies or intolerance or personal preference.
R. W.
I drink and eat there reasonably regularly and it's good, standard pub food. However I went there last night and ordered the nachos. Whatever you do, don't order the nachos! Sure there were some corn chips with melted cheese, but there was no salsa, no guacamole or sour cream. Instead there was a "brown sauce" (which was somewhere between BBQ and HP sauce), mayonnaise and a teaspoon of chopped red peppers. I won't be ordering it again.
W. L.
32 of us ate last night in this restaurant and I must compliment the staff on how welcoming they were.
We didnt make it easy, requesting to be all together then everyone moving tables but this didnt phase them.
They accommodated everything nothing too much, service with a smile every time, food was great too.
D. B.
Lovely service but below average food. Our lunch was served on the brink of being cold and our starters for dinner were a bit grim and tasteless sadly. Only here for 2 nights and this was the only place we knew to go. But even though its nice for a drink. I'd skip the food.
F. O.
Apart from waiting time of between 30 to 45 minutes, it was worth the while. Real value for your money.
a.
Ordered drinks at bar at around 21:40, only to be told after we'd got them that pub was shutting at 22:00!! Would normally rate higher as this is a nice place for a drink, but would of gone elsewhere had we known before ordering that we would be ushered out 20 minutes later.
J. G.
Very friendly staff, but not intrusive.
Doom Bar on tap and the menu really good. Right next to the canal across from a Premier inn.
We left nothing on our plates, that good. Recommended.
j. n.
Usually good. Suits a lower budget too. They have £5 meals on the daytime menu and desserts for £2.79. Outside seating and a slide for the kids.
Option of refillable Pepsi is good value.
Loyalty card gives points that you can exchange for a voucher that is either £5, two starters or two desserts. You can use more than one of these.
I.
Ordered food for a garden table and waited 25 minutes for the starter. Food ok. Another 35 minutes went by before the mains arrived. Food ok although slightly overcooked. The pub wasn't particularly busy and appeared under staffed.
D. W.
Very nice place to go to eat the food is top class have been a few times now not had a bad meal we have booked for Christmas day and boxing day the prices are very good go and see for yourself it will disappoint staff are very helpful and friendly
D. P.
The Bridge Barn is set in a lovely setting next to the Basingstoke Canal. In the summer its nice to sit and eat outside on one of the many tables provided. There is also a small play area for kids.. which keeps them occupied. Inside there are lovely beams and old fireplaces which at the character. The food is sometimes great.. sometimes poor. But at least they seem to of sorted there staff problems. Look out for Beefeater deals.. this can make your meal very affordable.
G. T.
I have my breakfast treat at the Bridge Barn Woking every Tuesday on my day off and it a fantastic eating experience, staff very friendly and polite, all u can eat and all the juices and tea and coffee you can drink very well priced £9.50, food cooked to perfection and just how I like it, I always leave happy, Thank u Bridge Barn.😀😀
M. K.
Lovely little restaurant/pub with delicious food 😊 had a late dinner but all the staff were lovely and we were nice and relaxed. We will definitely visit again in the future. Thank you 🍽
D. R.
Came here with our baby and sat downstairs in the bar area (buggy couldn't get upstairs). The Manager who showed us to our table was absolutely professional. He warned us being in the bar area we'd need to go to the bar to order food, but shortly after the bar staff came to us after noticing us with the buggy and served us at the table for our entire stay. Nothing short of perfect service which is a rare value nowadays. Food and drink was delicious. Would recommend in a heart beat! Thank you to all the staff at Beefeater 😊
C. T.
Haven't been to this Beefeater for a while now and its my closest one. Its right next to a premier inn and its in a really nice old style house. There is an upstairs and downstairs. Bar is downstairs which is connected to a nice front garden then upstairs is the restaurant. Same menu as any other Beefeater. Variety of cheap set menu offers or even early bird too. Have a look online for discounts, if you miss these times of course!
The food is always nice with unlimited chips on some dishes (you can ask for any dish with chips to be honest!). The burger was really nice and the ultimate chips will fill you up also! I have always enjoyed having a cheeky Beefeater every so often!
l. m.
Had a meal here with a friend. Was okay for the price but staff were not very knowledgeable and the vegan option was much smaller and less appetising than the other options. I would go back to try again for a quick lunch
S. W.
Lovely place to eat and spend time with the family. Food is excellent and the service is even better. A little pricey but well worth it.
S. M. W.
Popped in for a quick drink the other evening, plus a portion of chips. Very pleasant sunny evening, but they get very busy with children etc over the weekends, not a good time to go there for a quiet, quiet drink.
O. C.
A place that I have enjoyed every time I visited. The location, the no fuss place & people, delicious food and well chilled pints. Lovely all the way🥰
M. M.
Food was lovely and the pudding was lovely, the lady who served us was fantastic helpful and a credit to your company and the place was nice and clean and welcoming
C. F.
Food turned up a bit tepid, big shout out to Rochelle our waitress who was attentive and not smothering and did what she could to resolve the problem supplying fresh chips, ribs still tepid and over cooked though, lovely place to eat
L. F.
Food was nice service was good, t bone steak was on the small side as was the other portions.
S. C.
Very friendly staff food hot and fresh well worth it best breakfast ever had
T. W.
Had a lovely meal here. The reception and staff are so lovely, friendly and welcoming. The food was spot on and thankyou Mark for being such a wonderful host. Will return for sure.
A. W.
Great meal. Staff were very helpful and kind.
M. G.
I know it was mother's day but it was not over busy and we had to wait quite a long time to get our starters. To make matters worse they forgot one and to rush one through which wasn't the best. When our mains were due we waited almost an hour; when we went up and enquired hour much longer our steaks were under the lights and we were told they were waiting for chips (skinning fries really).
The only saving grace was most of the meals were ok and they gave us the desserts free. Would we go again maybe another chance.
D. p.
The food was extremely average. Everything was a bit over cooked and the portions were small for the price you paid. And what about some vegetables? And garnish. Chicken goujons with barbecue sauce was literally four bits of chicken slung in a dish with a little pot of sauce. And absolutely nothing else.
P. B.
Fantastic in every way. Great service, hot tasty food.
J.
Myself, my partner and daughter visited here on the 14th to drink and dine. We were greeted by friendly and professional staff. Food was amazing and it was a really nice friendly and relaxing environment. Nothing was too much trouble and Sue our waitress was lovely and efficient when serving us. Would definitely recommend visiting.
K. S.
Excellent service, food well cooked, value for money.
K. S.
Lovely staff..clean surroundings...service was very slow and food was cold..Shane...but would give it another visit
R. C.
Had breakfast for the first time and found it great value for money, totally full after leaving.
J. B.
Jamie ……barman / server excellent service ……professional , efficient , knowledgeable ……full marks to a young man giving his best
D.
Excellent service, good quality and great value. Considerable plus, air conditioning in restaurant.
C. P.
Not great if I’m honest. Food was edible at best and really expensive. The layout of the pub just seems all wrong. The staff were helpful and friendly though!
M. P.
Good seating the staff were very good. The food was okay but not the best I have ever had. Reasonable value for money though.
j. m.
It is set by the canal and we sat by the window so it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was very nice but there were a few things not available on the menu that I would have liked to order. I had a very nice time on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
J. C.
Matt and Ian provided fantastic service on my birthday today at Beefeater Bridge Barn in Woking. My husband Phil was able to use a good value mains coupon and the food was excellent.Well done Bridge Barn and we will be back soon
.
Z. C.
Sheila was lovely. She was so helpful. I can't same the same for the breakfast servers. None smiled. Dessert menu was very limited. Kids dessert menu was disappointing as all contained egg. So no good if you have an egg allergen or are a vegan.
S. W.
Nice place to eat next canal if you want to eat outside.
S. H. (.
Lovely place for a catch-up with family. Food was ok, atmosphere was nice. We sat upstairs in dining area and had the place to ourselves.
Staff were very friendly and courteous!!
We sat outside after our meal and had a good natter.
J. N.
We visited for a meal after a day out nearby and had prebooked a table.
The staff were very attentive, despite being an outside table it was clean, no other tables were left uncleared (often the outside tables are neglected, so it's a good indicator as to how everything else is run).
The food was well presented and our waitress kept the drinks topped up, we'll definitely be revisiting.
J. C.
We have just had a very good meal. There weren't many people in there, so we where served quickly. The staff, (and manager) where great and helpful. We do use the bridge barn quite often and have always had good service.
V. M.
Good place to get drinks and the people working there are nice but the food could definitely be better. I ordered a rack of ribs and my expectations were definitely higher than what I ended up recieving. Chips were hot but the ribs looked as though they had been sitting out all day and I was the only one who ordered them. The barbecue sauce on top looked as though it had been there for a while so I can tell it was sitting out for a while and considering the exorbant price for it it was definitely not worth the money. Good place to get drinks though.
m. g.
Could do a little bit better
C. A. C.
Had a lovely time at the Bridge Barn Beefeater.. We had Steak of course.. let's face it.. Who goes to a Steak Restaurant and doesn't eat Steak.. it was cooked perfectly. All Covid friendly, plenty of gel for the hands, tables adequately placed, Small groups respecting each others space..and not too much intrusion for a nice quiet meal.
J. L.
Staff are so friendly and helpful we had amazing meals and a great time, staff took there time to talk to my nephew who has autism and in a wheelchair and went out there way to make it extra special.
All of you are amazing 👏 and thank you so much we will be definitely be coming back.
M. G.
Great service and staff well presented food
J. h.
The bridge barn beefeater in Woking is excellent. Always welcoming and friendly. The food is lovely and the new menu is excellent, as was our very efficient waitress Sue. Had a great time.
W. P.
Really slow service, food is ok when you eventually get it, half empty but you get turned away if you haven't booked!! Probably 1/4 full just 2 staff serving and the the greeting on arrival was less than welcoming!
J. S.
Had an evening meal whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. Reasonable prices and a lovely old building to sit in. Good garden area next to the canal with a decent number of outside tables. Menu is good and in line with the usual Beefeater brand. Staff were very helpful and Covid restrictions well explained and managed.
R. W.
I have not been to The Bridge Barn for about 12 months. The food and service are still good, but the hostelry needs an uplift. It is sadly showing its age and needs some tlc!
C. N.
First Christmas Dinner of the year 😋 yet again friendly staff met all of our requirements. It's a place where we go on a regular basis with people like myself being a trans girl 👧 and being treated on equal status
J. C.
The service was brilliant. Everyone very friendly. Food was well cooked, hot & attractively served. We had a great evening. Was concerned for one of our party that he might not manage the stairs so having a lift put in would be great, tho he did cope on this occasion. Toilets need a bit of attention. 1 door in the ladies had no lock.
K. C.
Lunch menu really good value.
Great service. Thanks Gilly.
R. S.
This site is new to me but still the good old standard steak house. Two of us and we both had Steak and thick chips followed by a large creamy desserts. Just perfect!
L. J.
Good pub food at a reasonable price. Staff polite and professional and hard working. Could have been abit warmer, we felt cold sat at the table. The dining area upstairs could do with a better clean and was showing signs of wear. An old building with old character and fixtures. If the place was warm we would have stayed longer and given 5*.
M. T.
It’s a beefeater you know what your are getting. Would say however that this is better than the average beefeater.
j. l.
Have a easy lunch. Chips is among the best I have had. Too bad that had to wait long for the dishes.
H. W.
Lovely eatery, though timings are confusing as the restaurant does close between breakfast and lunch. Mensing when we turned up early for our booking we had to just sit in the bar where we couldn't get a drink. We had a lovely time though, the food came out promptly and we were checked in with by the staff regularly to make sure everything was okay, but not too much as to feel harassed.
A. H.
Had a good breakfast with my son's partner and granddaughter. Really enjoyable, sausages well cooked, bacon really good and great scrambled eggs. Only 1 letdown was the hash browns they were a little cold but other than that the service was great and the continental side was good too. For 9.50 per person and all you can eat you can't go wrong with that.
G. J.
This bar/restaurant is very big, spacious, clean and tidy, a pretty good selection of food on the menu and the standard array of drinks for a beefeater. The food that we ordered was ok, it was very very quite when we ordered, food took about 30 minutes to come out and when it arrived it was ok. Defiently nothing special but did the job for pub grub. The staff were nice enough, the young lad behind the bar was a little less professional then most but still done his job.
r. w.
Well run and well presented. Even on a busy Friday night the quality of the food really was excellent and so was the service. I noticed other diners plus my self didn't have to wait long to order and the food arrived in good time and really tasty. On another note the building has a quirky lay out which is relaxing to spend time in. Really well done beefeater
C. G.
Hadn't booked. Sun night we were staying at premier Inn and went for early dinner. Very busy but they fitted us in. Friendly staff. Long time since I have been to a beefeater of you don't like steak or 'fancy' food. menu is a little limited.
Breakfast next morning was great!
d.
Can't really fault the food or service tbf. I would have given a 5 star rating if my food came with the thing that made me choose what I did. I chose the mixed grill for £20 which was supposed to come with 'Bone Marrow' onions. I was interested to know what they were but I'm still yet to know what they taste like. I did enquire about it and I'm sure the lovely lady in there said she was going to ask the kitchen but never did. I would have liked to have given a 5 but I wasn't completely happy so a 4 it's going to be.
M. B.
Off the beaten track such that you start to suspect you've gone wrong, but good service, plenty of room between tables and we'll cooked and presented food. Ideal for a full English if you are playing golf at Foxhills or Woking.
K. W.
Nice little pub with a restaurant upstairs. We were seated on a particularly busy day suffering from staffing issues but still a lovely meal.
My complaint is that we both ordered a Lobster burger but there was a distinct lack of lobster.
Regardless the rest of the meal was delicious. We were seated upstairs in a nice little quiet area, waiters were attentative ensuring our drinks were replenished regularly.
j. w.
Staff extremely polite top service 👏 would use again.
A. P.
Very enjoyable for a family meal. Staff are always helpful. It would be nice to see more vegetarian and some vegan options on the menu though
K. L.
Good food in pleasant surrounding
a. s.
The food was pretty good, we needed 2 tables but they gave us 2 that weren't in talking distance (not near each other) the service was nice the person was really lovely however when paying they gave us the wrong table and when we were about to leave there was some cuffufel seemed to be resolved within 20 minutes or so wasn't that great but I'm sure this isn't a regular thing. The price was a big much too.
A. L.
Have been going to the Bridge farm for the last few years purely for the breakfast deal with my kids, there is no other reason to go, upstairs is cold in the winter and it also souless with no atmosphere, the staff lack warmth and do the bare minimum.
Before Covid you could help yourself which moved things along, now it is completely table service, croissants arrived cold etc.
Won't be returning any time soon
C. H.
Nice time out at the Bridge Barn. Lovely food, great bottled ale and outstanding service from Matt. Would heartily recommend going to the BB.
A. M.
Prior bad experiences forgotten, the trip to the restaurant this lunch time was a million miles from the last one. The food arrived together and was very tasty. The staff were friendly and polite and the garden was well tended and clean. A much better experience than the time before. We'll done Bridge Barn.
T. P.
Good food if a little expensive.
A. M.
Pleasantly surprised . Lovely meal
S. C.
Sue was amazing today. We weren't told on arrival about the roast dinners not starting until after 3 even though the menu says 12 she went above and beyond to make our Sunday dinner one of the best. Credit to the team there and she deserves a thank you today. Hope to see you soon.
D. M.
Your average Beefeater. Food is ok, premises quite cool later in the evening, as heating not on yet. Lots of dust and cobwebs as well.
C. M.
Really lovely accomodating staff, happy to serve us after a very busy evening. The food was delicious and served with a smile.
L. M.
The food was ok but nothing special. The server had a great attitude and her boss supported well but they just didn't have the man power to be fast. They genuinely did their best, but we were a bit out of the way.
T.
Service is very standard depending on who is your server. Food can be really slow to come out or can be quick depending on who is cooking and which servers are in. Food is mediocre, nothing worth writing home about.
Overall, an easy place to go for a meal but lacking in service quality.
G.
Superb Breakfast!! We booked for 11 hungry building team members, and got placed in a room already set out with a huge table. The spread on offer was amazing. All you can eat hot & cold breakfasts. But unlike many buffet style breakfasts all of the hot food was taken by order & cooked fresh. Tiffany our waitress was super efficient & faultless. Could not have done better. We will definitely be back
L. M.
Went with the kids for a quick afternoon meal. Nice and empty and seated in a nice booth with a view of the canal. We were served by a lady called Chantell who was lovely. She interacted with the kids to help them choose their food, suggested options on the menu and filled our drink's regularly with no prompting. Great service. Food was also really good. Nice hot spicy sauce for the crispy chicken wings and a pretty decent steak. Mud pie dessert was lovely but filled me right up.
This place is only let down by the outside area which is a little bit run down. Has a tiny kids area and half gravel half grass.
K. P.
Good service and the meal was actually better than I thought it would be. The waitress was really friendly and helpful even when my hubby wanted to substitute his steak for a better quality one as part of the meal option he wanted. This wasn't a problem and the steak was cooked exactly the way he ordered.
M. P.
We had a large gathering, the staff were so accommodating, polite and very helpful. The food was very good, and the place was clean, tidy and of good decor. can't go wrong with a beefeater, now fully converted from the Harvester
R. m.
My wife and I are vegetarian. Found plenty of nice options. Food was well prepared.staff were nice ( even happy). The two carnivores, with us, had a equality pleasant time. Will be returning.
k. b.
we held our grandsons 21st birthday here and booked a table for 16 people, nothing was to much trouble for them, every thing was ok, the service was A1,and for the food it was cooked perfectly and was all served at the same time , all still warm , no waiting just the right amount of time between courses . we also was not rushed to go. we will not hesitate to book again for a small or large party.
J. J.
Good food, if you go at the right time it's cheap, service can often be slow, but usually polite. Free refills on pepsi/lemonade.
Only pub you'll go to where people queue rather than stand art the bar. Nice place, been many a time. But mind your head on the low ceiling when you visit the WC.
J. O.
Went for a wake. Good food selection provided and ample tea and coffee. The area provided was big enough for a large group but it didn't have disabled/buggy access and there were lots and lots of stairs so not ideal but overall a nice place.
L. J.
Food good, service slow but good, drinks expensive. Single vodka and coke £9 odd I can get a double vodka and coke in a pub in town for a lot less. Only had 1 as a treat with my meal. On whole good place to go.
S. d. c.
Beefeater's are one of those places where you know you get a good steak and chips and a beer or cider but the other food can sometimes be a bit variable this Beefeater is no different. The salad was rather disappointing as were the starters. They are just a bit basic and not much love and care put into them. However the staff a kind and friendly the restaurant was clean and you know what you're getting with a steak.
D. H.
I have been staying at the premier inn while on business in the area and have been using bridge barn for my dinner all week. The steaks I have had have both been outstanding. Service has been phenomenal and I havent found a single fault. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful food. All round very impressed with my stay and BBB. Well done guys!
Y. E.
Was served by a lovely lady called Gilly, whilst supporting a group of people. Very nice, helpful and polite.
S. L.
Went their for my son's 21st birthday family get together on Saturday night was 30 off us .we pre orderd from the menu so didn't have to all order on the night the food came out about 30 mins of us sitting down which was perfect and not a single thing wrong with that many diffrent orders the food was perfect. and the staff were amazing the manger Matt and Sheila were more than helpful to cater for us all. and a big THANKYOU to Jenny/sue/Lou Ann for serving us all !!!! would highly recommend 👍👍👍👍👍👍
J. V.
Good food, Good locality, BUT terrible service - you need to wait a long, bring your cutlery to your table, sauces are only available in small portions bags, tables were not clean. You can get better value for your money when burgers are priced 12 GBP and steaks 16 - 20. Beer over 4£. It would be a great place if they would do just improve the service a bit
M. M.
Food OK, a bit overpriced, some attention to detail is required from the manager of this well located pub. The fire doors should not have bolts on them, the condiment area needs to be lit and also the serviets need to be there as well. Bar staff were very nice and helpful.
L. B.
We do enjoy stopping here for s meal after work but was disappointed in the rump steak very tough on this occasion. We had a discount voucher which made it a bit better that we were not paying full price. Service was good. No complaint there.
N. C.
Food quality was not bad considering the price but we have noticed that they have reduced the portions could be hotter
p. c.
The staff are welcoming , the food was tasty and good value for money and good atmosphere. Would recommend
r. m. C.
Staff are very nice and attentive. My steak was nice but not as juicy as i expected it to be. I ordered medium rare. The asian beef crispy salad was superb!
A. H.
Good range of drinks, friendly staff, enjoyed breakfast on both Sarurday and Sunday and they are managing the covid regulations as best they can , no complaints from me

Food was quite nice, service ok. But they refused to do individual bill for a larger group meaning after several beers a round of maths was needed to divide a bill between 6 families accounting for 40%off on just main meals etc. Staff found it confusing too as some paid cash, others card. Left feeling irritated rather than just satisfied by the food.
Sort it out.
A. A.
Nice setting I was disappointed with the Sunday roast web page has from 10.99 picture definitely does not match what I got meat is not sliced and small portion of beef 13.98 you cannot add extras to plate only chicken beef or lamb not impressive with food
A. H.
Good value food and beverage in a quieter location away from Woking town centre. Convenient in that part of town with a well sized outdoor area and upstairs restaurant
S. C.
Went there today just for a pint.
Queued to get served and not really onlybusy at 6.30in the evening. One person at the bar. Several others taking orders out to people outside. Person spilled my beer as in a rush did not offer to top it up. Shouting of staff to each other to get them to help out. Shortage of glasses. Beer not cheap food is standard pub chain food and expensive for what it is. Bird poo on outdoor furniture. Certainly going elsewhere for a drink. Beefeaters no better and more expensive than wetherspoons.
Another chain that will be in trouble soon if this is anything to go by .

Stayed at neighbouring Premier Inn for one night due to proximity to Farnborough. I ate in beefeater both for dinner & breakfast taking the meal deal combo. Service was ok at dinner appeared under staffed. Cooked breakfast was prepared to order so was piping hot and was straight from the kitchen. Food was very good. Would stay again.
J. B.
Very good ,with food and price . Thank you ,I love it down the Barn ,just can't wait for the sum to come out , and get in the garden.
C. H.
Lovely breakfast, main is cooked to order so it is hot! Very busy, we should have booked a table to sit with others in our party as tables allocated to the number in the room which is understandable.
S. T.
Really cosy place, great food and friendly staff. Prompt service and great vegetarian and vegan food available! I ordered the Vegan bbq burger and Chocolate churro sundae and what can I say! Absolutely delicious. I will definitely consider comming back.
E. C.
Good food and nice portions
T. A.
Good food , manager was very understanding about a mishap on our booking , was sorted out very quickly 👍🏻😀staff were great .
D. K.
This place is a classic!
I've been going there since I was a child.
The daytime saver menu is fantastic.
Is a good cheat meal and you get what you pay for, no complaints at all.
C. u. C.
Staff were ever so lovely, Manager & Asstaint manager were over loaded with work due to staff sickness, as were all other staff members, it happens all over the world;
so the large group I was with & myself did not let that effect our time there; they did their best, sadly need a little more training for Celiac suffers like myself, however they were truly sorry & made sure I was not at risk once aware, included discount, so of course we will be returning. I hope to see a well trained & staffed team on my return.
C. D.
When there for wife's birthday with son and grandson .and myself.
J. B.
Great food and nice spot next to the canal. Service was friendly but a little slow. I think there was a function going on in the restaurant.
J. F.
Lovely family meal with good service.
A. O.
A standard beefeater, nothing too special. Not the quickest service, but the staff were polite and did their best considering it was busy. I will likely return next time I'm visiting family that way, cheap, easy and has free parking
A. A.
Nice place along the canal in summer. Could be child friendly if you didn't have to wait so long when they already are hungry.
Over the last year or so there has been some obvious cost cutting going on and it is not as good as it used to be.
S. C.
Fully booked, short staffed and still managed to accommodate us thank you to Matt. Meals were fantastic.
S. I.
Woking beefeater saved our day. We arrived at Bagshot Beefeater their grill not working and ran out of roasts should have closed their doors today. Went on to Woking Bridge barn and duty manager sorted us a table even though they were booked. So helpful lovely efficient waitress good service, mixed grill.suf n turf and roast lamb all excellent
j. i.
Good location, not badly decorated and food is not bad, nothing to special just ok. If you going there for dinner, is good idea to give them a call beforehand as if they have function on they dont serve food to someone who just pops in.
G. “. W.
This is a warm, cosy restaurant which serves good tasty meals. They have a ' daytime saver ' menu 12pm-18.30
which has a great selection for around £6 per main. Highly recommended.
A. R.
Food lovely but could have been hotter
V. K.
Food is good, but the service is getting slower every time we go. Took an hour for our food to be delivered to the table, then we had to wait more than 20 mins for the bill, which was incorrect.
H. T.
Lovely friendly staff. Fantastic Tuna steak for Dinner but wasn't so keen on the breakfast but I am a fussy mare 🤣😂 xx
J. S.
Amazing only thing is it's a bit expensive
A. W.
It's a Beefeater so don't expext Michelin dining but the canal is nice, the beer is cold and you won't go hungry. A good stop-off on a canal walk or cycle ride.
M. B.
Well what can I say, it's a beefeater. It does what it does perfectly adequately. We visit regularly when we just want a no nonsense local eatery. 8/10 on Mr Browns foodometer. Find me on YouTube, search "Mr Brown in Rome" to find the channel.
J. B.
Fantastic staff could not do enough for us ,Sue was excellent, thank you Sue 😀 😊
Food was great too
S. B.
Excellent meals for all 3 in our party including steak and ribs. Waitress was very friendly and service was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
E. B.
Great breakfast, staff friendly and helpful. Cannot fault.
M. B.
The food here and location is good , free parking and easy access to Woking Town Centre. Rooms are nice but could do with a bit of an upgrade beautiful location right next to Basingstoke Canal with outdoor seating so ideal for summer drinks
M. B.
Pleasantly surprised - ate here last Sunday with the family. The food was very good and the service was excellent - looking forward to re-visiting. Would recommend.
J. C.
It is a good place for food. Totally rubbish if your struggle with stairs and require a restaurant meal. This is a listed building so no alteration can be done. You can get a bar meal, lf thats ok,
r. f.
A good place for a meal, just by the canal. Usual beefeater food, staff a always good. The garden is always popular in the summer. Plenty of car parking available.
C.
Service is amazing and friendly. Food is well presented and food is lovely. Came here twice now and I love it so much, better than all the other beefeaters. 👌❤️
G. A.
Lovely place to eat. Service could be better. Long wait for food but all made up for by the surroundings
T. S.
This has vastly improved since my last visit and staff are friendly and helpful. Still very reasonabley priced and you can still get the unlimited refills on some drinks along with unlimited chips on certain meals
S. S.
Very friendly and polite and lovely by canal but 4 stars as given that it's next to a school and has a Premier Inn attached, a larger play area would be good as it's suited to a few littlies playing.
D. B.
Had breakfast here for two mornings 17th 18th Aug 2019 and i must say it was quite poor (cooked b'fast) as if made with no real care or professionalism, it may only be a breakfast but i expect certain standards.
G. H.
Nice pub.. Good staff, normal Beefeater food (which I rate quite highly). Large outside patio and next to the canal. Nice and quiet location the perfect end to a canal side walk.
V. G.
Staff not that friendly not very accommodating.
T. F.
Friendly service, very helpful even though the restaurant was very busy, we eat in the downstairs bar area. Food came very quickly and we were very happy with the quality.
W. E.
Really nice steak cooked to perfection
T. R.
Food was good. Had to clear own tables from previous group. Had to request that the waiter wipe over our table which he never did.
G.
Good service and food was good as well.
Even better as on the app mains were half price £50 for a family of 4 with drinks
S. S.
Quaint!!! Lovely location on the canal.
T. P.
Service is slow but worth the wait, food good and hot. Poor staff have to work hard up and down the stairs, as kitchen is upstairs.
J. H.
Amazing as always. Visit here every Sunday. Amazing service, amazing food. Ask for the waitress Sue if you visit. She is a 10/10 waitress.
B. H.
went here for chips after cycling. very good lovely people i recommend
G. C.
Since becoming a beefeater this place seems a lot friendlier. The staff were nice and polite. The food and service was great.
C. C.
We had a lovely meal and the staff were brilliant.
T. A.
On 1st impressions this is a stunning looking restaurant inside & out that is situated along a picturesque canal & is adjacent to the premier inn where I am currently staying & who kindly made my booking for me, there is ample free parking & once you arrive, you go up the stairs to the reservation desk where somebody will then take you to your allocated table, I didn't know where to go & felt very uncomfortable just standing in the bar area until a member of staff assisted me.
Once I was seated I was told that several items were not available from the menu which wasn't a problem as I already knew what I wanted, i ordered a glass of wine & then the Canadian scallops with crispy bacon which is a favourite of mine plus the grilled salmon with skinny fries, when my starter arrived I was instantly disappointed as i could see the bacon was very undercooked & not how it is served in other Beefeater restaurants, I tried a tiny bit thinking it can't be that bad, WRONG as it was like eating fatty cold jelly, the scallops had no heat to them either, such a shame & when my plate was taken away with the bacon virtually untouched, I wasn't even asked if it was ok as I was ready to explain that it was not.
My main was much better in terms of heat with the exception of the hollandaise sauce which was gloopy & had split, the salmon was nice but tiny & I have NEVER seen such skinny chips, sorry but they were not even frites & NOT Beefeater standard, I did try to take a photo in disbelief but it didn't work for some reason, overall a big disappointment as I left there still starving & I'm not even a big eater, I really do hope that breakfast is of a much better quality in the morning, maybe with a different Chef cooking the food??
R. S.
Service not particulary fast, ok food. Staff were pleasant enough. Place was empty but took 2 hours for a 2 course meal.
M. B.
It's... Ok. If you're stuck and desperate then it has a grill, your night isn't ruined, it'll just be generic and bland and 'meh'. It names its garnishes so watch out for that ('sprig of mint'). It has Doom Bar on tap, your reaction to that will probably determine how you get on here in terms of food.
D. W.
Good food and friendly staff. Perfect for family meals and sunday lunches. Although there are a lot of low beams so be careful if youre tall.
L. N.
Very nice and friendly staff.
Food was delicious. Covid safe. Will visit again.
C. E.
Nice big pub. Food ok. Service ok.
d. t.
Always good value, friendly staff
K. A.
Right next to the premier in and canal, good location. The food was good and the atmosphere was also nice .service was slop but overall had a nice evening.Would recommend sitting outside near the canal! ,
A. W.
Great food, lovely place to visit. Great value with a £5 menu. Kids menu has a good variety. Definitely recommend it.
K. W.
We visited there as a large group it was very cosy, limited choice on the menu but food taste good. Services was ok need to want customer says.
M. H.
Perfect food for six, good service from Sue and team. Reasonable value. Easy car parking. 15Dec2018
B. B.
Eaten there many times over the last few years. Food is always superb - especially the grill. Booked in there tomorrow for a family birthday meal. All you need to know.
L. T.
Everything was fine apart from the man vaping next to the table inside even though it is not allowed. We did tell the manager but the man was never told to stop.
J. N.
Stayed in the premier inn here and eat in the beefeater 5 days last week. Food was decent, nothing to shout about, nor did I have any reason to complain or send anything back
M. A.
Lots of Sunday lunch, might be better to concentrate on quality.
A. R.
Had to wait at the bar 10 minutes to order food and then wait 40 minutes for the food to arrive and then no cutlery available had to ask twice for cutlery whilst food was on the table batter on the fish was wet and soggy understaffed
j.
Excellent customer service and great tasting food. Overlooks the canal and had a large outdoor seating area for nice sunny days.
K. M.
Excellent food, excellent service really cannot fault it, would gladly visit again.
J. C.
Very nice. Great choice on menu. The chicken curry is tasty but nunn bread was a little dry was all.
S. S.
Fabulous food, great friendly service and good value for money. One of the few places where you can get a proper blue steak
D.
Stopped here after a walk along the canal.Staff were friendly and food was fab.Had a £5 meal which was spot on.
A. H.
Very friendly pubs.Only. So relaxing for any occasion. Been here 3 times and always had a good meal.

A. C.
Great food very friendly staff. and at a reasonable price 5 stars from my family
R. W.
A good place to eat, I had a half rack of BBQ ribs and sauce, with fries and coleslaw, great food great price.
J. P.
Good service. Good food, quirky atmosphere and they don't cut you off till you knock yourself out on the way to the loo.
F. F.
Went to sample their newly released menu. Definitely have raised their game. A much varied and improved menu for the impromptu meal out.
R. G.
great for a pint and a quick bite, or a larger meal if you prefer to dine in the restaurant part of the establishment, lovely surroundings and a premier inn next to it
L. C.
Good food selection. Daytime menu prices are ok. Other menus are expensive. Free Wi-Fi available.
N. E.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Can't fault the Manager who is always on the ball, and very professional.
R. B.
Very nicely turned out place, staff friendly. I had a sirloin stake for lunch very well cooked, I would go back again
R. S.
We booked for 10 prior to a funeral .Their kitchen was hampered by overrunning service visit but they rustled up a great selection of dishes with prompt smiling service and that deserves recognition!
B. F.
Typical Beefeater, lovely location next to the Basingstoke canal, prices high compared to Brewers Fayre. The attached Premier Inn is really great.
K. M.
Visited the Beefeater restaurant at the bridge barn on probably the last hot sunny day of the summer before winter closes in. We ate outside, the food was perfectly OK but maybe the selection was a little limited
C. C.
Can't wait to go back it was lovely great food and great staff
g. H.
We had an excellent meal recently with our family, service was excellent especially as it was so busy on this particular evening, couldn't ask for a better service.
W. C.
Called in for Saturday lunch. Quick efficient service good food, hot, sat by the canal and watched the world drift by. Perfect
C. M.
Service is rather slow, even when not busy!! and that's at the bar too!!
food pretty much what you'd expect from a beefeater! Ok if your hungry
N. S.
The food was great, but the customer service is outstanding. The whole team were amazing.
P. B.
Please see my review of the Premier Inn, Woking West, which includes a review of Beefeater. Excellent, simples!

E. W.
We were served by Sue and she was wonderful. Food was great at a good price
D. T.
Constantly ran out of food for breakfast and had to wait for them to refill and there was a lack of staff. You HAVE to book a table.
S. A.
