Booked last minute for Sunday lunch, not disappointed. Excellent Sunday menu of starters and mains as well as Sunday roast was good to see so choice certainly wasn't limited like some places that only do a roast on Sunday. Food was excellent, lovely selection with the roast of vegetables and sides, soen if which were unlimited (potatoes, cauliflower cheese etc.). Staff were excellent, very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended.

We went there a bit late, about 9:00pm. The waitress is probably tired; she forgot to bring us plates and and glasses and we needed to keep asking for stuff. The food is fine, but just the service was not that good tonight.

Amazing staff and out of this world food. We had the baguette with dips (highly recommend) for starter and then we had the cornish beef burger and the butternut squash with bulgar wheat salad. To finish the meal of with mango and pineapple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Defo going back again.

Booked here for a siblings get together, the Sun Inn being an equa distance one and half hour drive from three different parts of the county. So glad we found you. Sunday lunch was a real treat - delicious and plentiful. Big thumbs up to the chefs. Service was exemplary - special mention for Tilly who looked after us so magnificently - attentive, courteous and helpful without being the slightest bit obtrusive. Whenever we started to think we wanted something, she appeared. How DOES she do that?! Service from all there (who served us at various points) was just superb - polite, courteous, helpful. The whole team are a credit to the pub. Chuffed to bits to have found a new regular rendezvous spot.

First visit and very pleased with everything - quality of food, drink and service. Cannot fault it. I tried sea bream for the first time ever and it was superb. My wife had the fish curry and others had the gammon steak and steak'n'ale pie. Everyone loved their meals. We live local and have now tried all the Chobham pubs so we will be back!

Lovely pub with a nice garden, perfect for a hot British Summer, they also have a giant deckchair, great to chill in. Food is delicious, highlight has to be the soufflés both the cheese and the pistachio are amazing. Staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. You can always have a great chat with them. All in all worth a visit!

Great food and lovely staff. Only thing letting it down would be for anyone who is gf . Limited menu options; they do have separate menu to their credit. Can't have roast (gravy,potatoes etc). Deserts are the same as non gf but with things removed etc. If you aren't gf then it is 5 stars for me

Well I rarely give 5 stars to pubs because the food is generally average and so is the service. But this is not the case at the sun Inn. The food was delicious and although the staff seemed fairly young with most likely some recent additions they performed really well. Special highlight: the burger, which is really well seasoned and delicious (not surprising its cooked sous vide).

Great place, lovely and welcoming. I could have stayed all night, as nobody rushes you out. I had the fillet steak with vegetables and salad: I can easily say, it was the best quality ever! My husband had the beef Bourguignon and he said it was amazing. My son wolfed down what looked like a class burger. Service was really good too. Will be back soon.

So after my sister highly rated their roasts i had no choice but to sample them. Waitresses were lovely, polite and friendly unfortunately that is where the good experience ended. The roast was awful! Yorkshires like stone that turned to dust when broken, cauliflower cheese with no evidence of cheese or sauce, roast potatoes that had been re-heated, bottom less gravy that came out in a jug half the size of my fist. Shame really especially as it was a 45 mile round trip. The Manager understood our complaint and handled the situation well. We wasn't billed for the roasts

Beautiful food and service with an enviable menu in the lively village of Chobham. Few parking spots out the back but maybe 7 in total but parking nearby easy. Confit duck was epic and they a wonderful range of gins. Perfect for a lunch or intimate dinner, go try it.

Fabulous food at the Sun Inn. You were spoilt for choice with the menu, so many good options. Lauren was amazing! She was great with recommendations and genuinely happy at her job. All the staff were friendly and looked after us exceptionally well. Fabulous experience! Many return visits necessary to try the extensive, appealing menu.

We visited as a family of 6 last week for my wife's 50th birthday. Outdoor area is comfortable and warm and the service was very good. The food however was very expensive for pub food and I don't think it is value for money. We had no starters or puddings and only 3 x alcoholic drinks but the bill was £145. I had a steak which was ok but it came with just a handful of overcooked chips and a tomato - for £20 I would have expected a little more. Burgers for two of our party were £15 each and very average indeed with again only a few chips. It is a great venue and the staff were very friendly but value for money is important to us and I don't think we got that.

Superb experience at the Sun Inn on Sunday for a family birthday. The food was excellent, we all had roasts of different varieties and starters and desserts equally as good. We went there as a group of four, and we all found the food excellent! The variety of dishes on the menu was a nice surprise if compared with other pubs. The interior was cozy and clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. The prices were slightly on the high side, around 35 pounds pp for a starter a main and a beer. I think the starters were the overpriced items, especially given their size. In overall a very good restaurant, definitely recommended!

As Bistro a pub as you will find with a large area dedicated to dining. Really good classic English comfort food along with Mediterranean, vegetarian and vegan options. Generally very good. One of our party felt the steak and ale pie was too salty but otherwise fine. Those serving us (a party of ten) were very attentive and gave the impression they cared. Set in Chobham, which is lovely, though the traffic has out grown the roads. Limited parking. Overall - great!

Second time I've been here. A very pleasant environment with good, friendly service. Both times I have enjoyed dining there, and would return. On the latter occasion we ate off the fixed price menu. The food was tasty, but I think it could have been better - I had a beetroot starter followed by haddock. Reasonably busy on the day we were there, and a courtyard to catch the sun on a warm day.

We went for my husband's birthday dinner and with the few family members we were able to have there, it was literally perfect! The food was phenomenal, the staff were amazing and the whole outdoor setting was arranged so brilliantly to be unobtrusively inline with current lockdown regs ... we'll be back again soon and the family have already recommended The Sun Inn to loads of their friends as a result of how perfect everything was!

First time visiting The Sun Inn for lunch & would highly recommend it. This cosy gastro pub is located on Chobham High Street but has its own parking right next to the building. If their car park is full then there is a free car park just up the road & a right turning- pop it into a Google maps. We had the Chicken Liver Parfait & garlic butter snails. Both were great. For mains, we had the confit duck & fillet steak. It's possibly one of the best confit ducks I've ever had! For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding & cherry amandine. Again, both delicious. Don't be fooled, this is sticky toffee pudding exemplified. The waitress accidentally mistook one of the puddings. It was no bother as it was replaced instantly, however, she offered us hot drinks on the house for the mistake. It really wasn't necessary but her customer service was much appreciated. We will definitely be going back there again...if only for the confit duck 😍

The food is good, though perhaps a little overpriced. I detected no hint of truffle in my £15.50 truffle risotto, which arrived about 45 minutes after I ordered it. I appreciate risotto does need constant attention though. The staff were lovely but seemed like they needed a few more hands to serve all the customers. Including in the kitchen perhaps. They have a good range of beers to suit most tastes.

Service was very good, but 10% still feels a lot when the bill is easily over £100 for 2. We gave up waiting to order extra drinks and went to the bar ourselves as it took so long. Car park is tiny

Charming village pub, excellent quality food and good selection of drinks at the bar. Portion sizes aren't huge, more about quality than quantity. We had a starter each, mains and a side which filled us nicely. We ate from their set menu which was lovely. The outside seating was lovely, beautiful sunny day. The only down side (no fault to the pub obviously) was the amount of wasps around! An absolute pest this time of year it seems especially so at the moment. We were constantly swatting away flies and wasps - we probably should have sat inside! But again no fault of the establishment.

I was expecting something amazing from this place, based on great reviews from friends. Went for Sunday lunch, would happily pay more for a larger portion of Sunday roast. Although the staff explained that more gravy and veg would be complimentary, they never came back to see if the meal was OK. Food itself was good, except for the hard yorkshire pudding. We were served by 4 different people during the course of our lunch, everybody was very pleasant, but is there really a need to introduce yourself if that's the first and last time I'm going to see you? Plenty of room on the menu to explain 2 for £20 deal ( specials not included) and the automatic 10% gratuity - didn't find that info anywhere.

We went for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was stunning. My husband had lobster and I had fillet steak. We had 3 courses in all and every course was superb, we couldn't fault it. Then we went for a sit down in the cosy pub area to let our meal go down. I stopped going here regularly a few years ago as the focus seems to be very much on the gastro side and the bar was becoming increasingly dead and devoid of both customers and atmosphere. I've tried again on a couple of Thursday evenings recently but it's gone even further down the pan - at 21:30 on a beautiful summer evening we were the only patrons in the entire bar area and even then it was difficult to get served as the staff were faffing around in the restaurant and the bar was unattended for long periods of time. I assume the restaurant is very lucrative because the pub side is neglected and seems like a total waste of space. Shame, as it's a really nice pub.

The Sun is a lively and comfortable public house with good food and bar snacks. I visit regularly and enjoy the atmosphere and good selection of beers and wines. Two reasons why this review was not five star... One or two more vegetarian options on the menu would be grand. And, although smoking is increasingly frowned upon these days, I smoke and as it's winter, it'd be great if the sun could provide some heating in their smoking section. If these things could be attended to, I would come here more often for sure! Either way, it's still a lovely place!

We had not been here for a while since moving out of the area and were concerned that the cosy pub that existed before might have been spoiled but the conversions have been done really nicely. We have to eat in the bar area as we have dogs which suits us fine as it's really comfortable with a nice atmosphere. Everything we have eaten has been really good and the set menu is great value. 10/10 for staff efficiency and friendliness and unlike some other dog friendly pubs we have visited, The Sun really is properly dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Extensive menu but maybe too extensive? Would avoid busy times, perhaps trying too hard to be all things? Starter left under warming lamp too long (asparagus dry, tough and rubbery) and main meal served cold and had to be returned. On reflection this was probably due to other dishes on our table's order taking longer to prepare/cook whilst simpler dishes were kept warm? Staff were professional and courteous though and I would maybe try it again but at a quieter time...

This pub can be ok if you haven't been here for a while and fancy a change wouldn't go as far as to use it regularly. Staff sometimes ok sometimes blankness takes over them. I didn't come for the food but that is their main cash cow so I agree with others that no much attention is paid to the bar area I guess staff are told to focus on restaurant.

Excellent place to eat. Parking is a bit of a difficulty as it's so popular but if you are mobile there are other parking locations in Chobham. Had a lovely meal. Mine was Smoked Pork Belly which melted in my mouth. Friends had cheese soufle and judging from their empty plates (they are both vegetarian) it was good. Comfortable, no musak, good service, clean, good value for money Will I go again? A definite yes. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

After a long couple of weeks and a rough evening, I got lost and found myself here. The best soufflé I've ever had, the best beef stroganoff I've ever had - beating my mum's! The waitress was very attentive and showed great attention to detail. The atmosphere was relaxing - I'm lost and a long way from home - and although the food wasn't cheap I felt it was worth every penny. In fact, I'm hoping to get lost near here again!

Main course food was fantastic! Pudding was ok but portions really small and expensive! Prices very high generally, so you can expect to pay top wack. Not very happy with their Jan/Feb 50% off offer - be careful if you still intend to go using this voucher (runs out 2nd Feb anyway I think) - You have to buy from the Ala Carte menu and it is for the main meals only on this - NOT PUDDINGS from the Ala carte menu. Also if you order any item that does not have any accompaniments with it you can expect to pay around £3.10 - £3.90 for every dish. So for instance if you ordered a steak (for which we got 50% off) you then paid for potatoes or chips and any vegetables off of the Ala Carte menue you will be charged the full price so no 50% off for your add-ons so unless you like stake with nothing else, take care.

The desserts, on the other hand, are delicious. (Original) Bonne ambiance, très sympa, j'ai bien fait de prendre un starter les ne sont pas trop copieux. Les haricots verts ne sont pas assez cuits, le poulet était limite. Par contre les desserts sont succulents.
