J. 4.I had been to this bakery every day I was working in York. The pies, pasties and rolls are always hot and fresh. The sandwiches are fresh that day. As well as sweet treats are just to perfection. Best time for availability would be anytime before 11:30am.
The interior is qaint. Mystic one might say. With being from the bussling city of Manchester, its not very often I stumble across such a place. The staff are very friendly and the bakery is very fair priced. I would visit again indefinetly when next visiting/working in York. Well worth checking out!

J. M.This place is awesome. Their sandwiches are literally amazing. A lot of students go here because of its location, but a lot of other folks go here too. I’ve often driven out of my way to get much lunch here when I’ve wanted something different, delicious and filling. They also have hot pies and pizzas, and the front of the shop has all kinds of jars of things and some regular grocery items. The sandwiches are the main attraction though!

It's not in the City Centre but you can easily get there on the 44 or 66 bus in 15-20'. £3 for a Tuna with corn sandwich (they have just recently increased the price) and it filled my stomach up. It was sweet and tasty. The best one I've ever had.
Don't miss it if you visit York. Highly recommend!

I. A. F. i. P.Overall a very good shop. However For the 5th time now I have bought a pasty that has been mislabeled. I cannot eat pork and once again I have unwittingly bought a pasty with pork in it as it was labeled as beef. Just write the type of pasty on the bag and don't rely on labels, as people just move them.
C.This shop is awesome. The sandwiches are consistently worth it - for the most part. So much other things you can buy also - chocolate, pastries, drinks, fruit, etc.
