We came for my son’s birthday last month and the meal was great! They described the set up and then we were off to choose the sides to go with the meat. There were plenty of choices of hot and cold side dishes. I wasn’t a meat eater and they gave me a portion of grilled salmon. My family loved the selection of meats that arrived at our table. The waiter would carve a piece for each person. They would keep coming until you had enough. Then they came with grilled pineapple. My son absolutely loved this that he kept asking for more! They event gave him a chocolate cake with a candle and we sang happy birthday to him. Nothing like embarrassing a teenager! They have air con which was brilliant as it was during the heatwave and was 40 degrees outside.

As Brazilians, we can say the non stop meat was superb! We could enjoy the picanha taste and the salad bar buffet very much! The caipirinha was delicious, exactly like it is served in Brazil. Nice and friendly staff! We highly recommend this authentic Brazilian restaurant.

Wow what an amazing dinner we had! I am glad I took the risk to try something different! We ate until we could not eat any more there were plenty of side dishes to choose from! And the meat was very tender the most tender meat 🥩 We have had in a restaurant! All the meat was well seasoned and cooked perfectly ! The atmosphere was fantastic and very enjoyable! I can't eat anymore! I mean ever! I've literally eaten so much I think I've had my calorie allowance till I'm 99 years old. This place is wonderful. Music, style, friendly staff, food is fantastic, long island ice tea was perfect. I had to turn my card red to stop the meat coming. The buffet bar has meats and everything one it you could want. I will literally only eat here when I come back to York. Thank you very much. X

Enjoyed every minute. The food is superb and the meat dishes just keep coming. There is a help yourself area with plenty of choices of side food to help yourself from. The beer etc is quite expensive but you can just have a jug of iced water if you choose. We will definitely return. Also the staff were great!

Absolutely sublime, could not fault a thing. Meats were cooked to perfection, salad bar was full of high quality produce, which at first seemed like the dishes were too small, but every few minutes someone was bringing out fresh. Watch the cocktails, like all the best ones, they are a lot stronger than you think.

Visited this evening, great service, staff were wonderful and attentive, even checking to see if we wanted any particular meat after everything had come round. Such a lovely buffet with plenty of salad options for a start. Also has pasta, rice, the Brazilian dish Feijoada (bean stew), an amazing selection of barbecue coming straight to the table from time to time plus fries, cheese bread, everything you would expect from a typical rodízio but the flavours are spot on! Table service is very good, friendly and caring. I can't believe at the price, considering I visited on a Sunday night and the amount of food I had, 25 for all you can eat barbecue is great!

All you can meat buffet, its pretty nice and a fun experience but all meat appears to be cooked around medium, and there's not much of a selection. We were right by the far side window too so were often missed by the staff carrying the meat. They also had a little "snacks" bar which was okay but a little plain. What i take away from this place is its good for just selling a certain cooked style of meat to a very specific demographic. Btw they do not serve desert here. Do i feel it was worth £33 p/p? (2 cokes and meal) not really. To get your moneys worth you'd really want go there to eat nothing but medium to medium rare meat.

Eat as much as you like both from the sallad bar and the Meat! There is a green/red care that's on the table and when you are ready fir more meat they come to the table and serve you. If you don't want more meat at the moment you just flip the card to the red side. The atmosphere in those restaurant is lovely! The owner makes sure that you feel very welcome and are happy with the food 😃 They have a broad choice of bevreis too all from non alcoholic to the more tipsy side, if you like 🥳 The sallad bar don't just have sallad, they have roast potatoes and rice and stew and there is flavours that is just heavenly! I wouldn't know of this place if it wasn't for the fact that I met the owner at the airport in Sweden. 😃 And to be honest it was a perfect place for my 2 sons and girlfriend and me, to dine and have a wonderful time at the same time! I can so recommend this place to everyone! Location is great too as its on a street close to parking facilities if you are driving. Thank you so much for those experience of a fantastic night with fantastically well met, food presentation and a great welcoming! 100 stars to all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️

After watching Somebody feed Phil my girl friend and i wanted to a Brazilian place with with all the meats on sticks. So as we were on holiday while planning our trip we found this. Was not disappointed...holy hell. Massive buffet of many many things with chips and onions rings included and meats...extremely well cooked meats. Ioved the little red/green cards, essentially meaning nope im good for now and yes more of the meat please. Taking it steady flip your card to red for a bit then back to green when youre ready for more. £25 a head and the only extra we paid for were drinks. I wanted meats on sticks and i got meats on sticks...will be going again. All the staff were extremely pleasant and enthusiastic.

Great rodizio in the centre of York. Staff are friendly, and the main show - the meat - is really good. Salad bar is great, but could do with some extra things added - swapping out stuff like the random lasagne with some Rio-style baked polenta, etc, would do wonders! Caipirinhas are really tasty, but other drinks are lacking - if you want beer, for example, there's nothing on draught, and the bottles are a bit expensive. Luckily, said caipirinhas are 2for1... Overall, I've been to similarly priced rodizio that had a lot more going for them in terms of main and side options, but the things you can get here are super tasty.

Well my wife & I was visiting York & decided to eat here for an early dinner. Glad we did. It was £15 per head. This includes a massive unlimited salad, rice, bread & cold meats along with some speciality plates. It gets checked and replaced every so often as well which is good. Now the main event. Randomly a guy will walk round with a metal skewer loaded with a cut of meat. There was beef rump tail, flank, sirloin, spicy sausages and leg of Lamb. You have a disc, one side red saying NO MORE and the other green saying yes please whereby the waiter will slice off chunks to your liking. The meat starts of as just under medium rare but obviously through time, gets cooked slightly more. The meat is very well seasoned, full of flavour and juicy & tender. You get do much too sd it's unlimited. We tried a bit of everything and loved it. The price goes up to £25 in the evening understandably. The service was good, the restaurant clean and tidy. Nice selection of beers and wine. It got busy so I'd suggest booking in the evening. We will definitely visit again.

Oh dear. This was our favourite place to eat, been many times, raved about it to everybody. went last night and it was hugely disappointing. First the price has gone up, to £28. Fair enough these are rough times but at that they had better bring their best game. Sadly this was far from the case, the menu is dramatically curtailed. All the best cuts have vanished no fillet, no sirloin etc. The rump we had was so tough it had to be spat out, the rest was better but still chewy. The side dishes have shrunk massively pre pandemic there was a vast buffet, yesterday a small selection, and a quality was OK but things like sweet potato fried missing. The pizza selection has all vanished. This restaurant was sensational, gutting to see them struggling like this I hope they can turn it around.

Having been to Brazil, and experienced rodizio style eating, also at other venues in the UK, we very much enjoyed our meal here, and can say that you do get an authentic experience. For those who havnt been to this type of place before, there is a self served salad bar, then waiters come to your table with unlimited skewers of differing meats. You are given a circular mat with a traffic light type system, green if you want more meat, red if you want a break, or had enough. You need to pace yourself in order to try all the different cuts of meat, not forgetting the salad bar, but be warned, dont eat before you go! For this particular venue, everything was good, including the caipahrinias. To get the 5th star, I felt the salad bar could have been a little bigger with more choice, as Brazilian ones have been, but otherwise, an enjoyable experience.

We went on a Monday when there is a discounted offer for the dinner experience - it wasn't very busy but that worked to our advantage as the meats came around quickly. There was a large range on offer and they were all beautifully cooked. Plus, a special thanks to server Daria who spotted that we had turned out discs over to green from red after seeing beef ribs going round and pointed her colleague in our direction. Great service, great food, well priced. I would certainly go again.

What a fun restaurant to experience! We went for a work night out where there were a quite a few of us that had different dietary requirements (halal, several food allergies),but the restaurant manager and chefs were so considerate and ensured we all had good option of foods to choose from. On arrival, Jacob offered us drinks and made special recommendations depending on our preferences. We tried the caipirinhas, which was apparently a really popular alcoholic drink in Brazil, and guarana (non alcoholic). The the bacahloada (not sure if that’s how it’s spelt) was a side but it can be its own meal it’s so good! The meats were all cooked to perfection, my favourite was the picanha 🤤 and they just kept on coming.

Omg! It says it all, the food is absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly to the rarity of your choice, and service is quick and efficient by friendly staff who clearly just want you to enjoy the experience, the salad bar is full of unusual and tasty food which you probably won’t get anywhere else, and the meats are just mouthwatering. There is so much excitement when you see the food coming out of the kitchen, to find out what it is and to try it, and if there is anything in particular you would like to try off the menu, you can request it from one of the staff, for example, chicken hearts, which are very tasty and well worth the try if you are willing. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good steak.

A MUST if you are visiting/live in York. The BEST Brazilian Restaurant I have visited. I originally arranged a Surprise Birthday Party here for my husband and I was not disappointed! The whole experience of trying a slither of different meats was mouth watering. For those who don't like meat, there is still an option. Everyone at the party was left very happy, satisfied and exceptionally full. I have since returned several other occasions with friends. The staff each time were welcoming, service excellent. Overall a fantastic experience! Don't hesitate to give this a try for yourself.

My wife and I visited Casa Rodizio today for a late lunch in York today. First impressions were good, very spacious seating and good sized tables. The staff were very friendly and super helpful! The food was fantastic, we had a selection of the meats, plus mixed vegetables, mixed salad and also the Black Bean Stew. I also had the Brazilian pudding, which was fantastic and light. All in all, very good service and excellent food. I will definitely visit here again, just make sure you are hungry!

Quite underwhelmed by the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful but if this is typical Brazilian cooking it was disappointing. It was a plentiful variety of meats including sausages, chicken, lamb, pork and beef flame cooked. The rump beef was unchewable. The service is based on turning a card over on the edge of your table, green for more, red for hold off for now.

Meat was good, well cooked & tasty, sides are ordered fresh which for us was good and bad. Everyone enjoyed what they ate but the problem came with sides coming and then no meat - as we were hungry the sides got eaten and then we got the meat. We ordered more sides but then they take a few minutes to come and you eat the meat while it's warm and the cycle repeats or you let things like the chips go cold whole you wait for the meat. We went on a Monday night and the restaurant was probably about half full so it was reasonably busy and maybe not as heavily staffed as a popular night. If I'm honest we could have chased the waitress more to resolve the timing and did towards the end of the meal but it was a case of once a skewer of meat was cooked it wasn't enough for everyone waiting so if we got served first the people on the other end of the restaurant had to wait because the meat would run out and they would have to wait for the next one. The night we went there was live music too, nice idea but the volume needed to be lower we were sat reasonably close to the speaker and it made conversation difficult, by the end I would have rather it not be on and have no music. There was 7 of us for the meal, when the bill came it was just short of £200 including drinks, not loads of drinks but still basically £29 for an all you can eat that has tasty food. Overall if the service was a bit better with timings and the music was lower or absent I would have definitely given it 5 stars.

Amazing Meat and cuts. 2nd time we've visited. The first time we visited it was fantastic all around. Fast service, great food and polite staff. This time round I'm not too sure 😞 The meat cuts great.... but overall the service was all over the place. In my personal opinion you had far too many people crammed onto one space and not enough staff serving. We had to wait 30 minute (only after I said something) for the appetisers to hit the table. It took 3 attempt to get the correct servings we had asked for. 1 of the chicken wings was raw pink in the middle and bled on the plate 😲. Staff looked overwhelmed and stressed. I felt sorry for them. It took around 15 minutes for each drink serving to hit the table from order. In 2hrs we didn't get a single slice of pizza. To top it all off, the live music being played was so loud we couldn't even talk to the people sat at our table, despite being sat in the middle of the restaurant. I love live music. As a rock/metal fan I can tolerant loud..... but at a restaurant like this, I expect to be able to talk to my family while eating. 1st visit - 9/10 2nd visit - 2/10 Not sure what happened tonight guys but I dis feel let down :( Meat Fantastic, service not so good.

My husband and I love coming here for date nights. The pricing is reasonable for a meal and the food quality is exceptional. Their Brazilian tapas dishes are really authentic- the feijoada and pão de queijo are favourites of ours. I recommend booking a table, because you don't want to miss out and they're often busy!

We enjoyed meats of all kinds including sausage, beef,lamb,pork,chicken,warm pineapple and even pizza. To accompany this was served rice,mixed veg,coleslaw, black beans,roast potatoes and salad. The food was washed down with a bottle of prosecco and water,resulting in a total cost of £87. For one I thought it was worth it as you quite literally eating non stop from the moment you are served until you leave,so for people with voracious appetites, this is definitely the place to go. With friendly staff and dining in pleasant surroundings, I fully recommend a visit to enjoy the experience.

And my 14yr old's eyes lit up everytime someone passed by with more meat to offer..this is a child that rarely even eats meat. The meat is just amazing.. The waiter (Danny) really looked after us There was 18 of us, we hadn't booked and he sat us down almost immediately after creating a large table for all of us. He explained the concept and how service worked and looked after us all night. It was amazing value for money considering we must have eaten an entire cow between us. We went in for lunch at 12:30 on a Wednesday. It was empty, so we did not know what to expect. The food and service was amazing, in a really relaxed place. The salad bar had both plain and unusual salads, we tried everything ... even those red chillies. There was a whole rack of hot dishes, with some very spicey dishes. The freshly cooked, garlic beef, pork and chicken just kept appearing at the table. 24 hours later we are still struggling to eat anything else, as we did over eat a little. What a refreshing change to find a good feed with just a single cover charge. We suggest you go there hungry 😊

There's a buffet where you can pick up as many sides as you want and then you get this red/green card which indicates whether you want more meat or pause. Food - most of the meat menu reached us over our two hour stay, but it was far too salty. The accompaniments were great and helped to balance the saltiness (although it was still overpowering!). Atmosphere - the atmosphere was lively although too noisy with children screaming and running between tables and adults shouting. A fight broke out in the toilets but was dealt with by the staff well. Tables that were rowdy and swearing were not told to quieten down. Covid security - perhaps we should have guessed but carving meat table side was a bit worrying in a pandemic. As expected with this type of food, the same hunk of meat was taken to each table and so could be a source of transmission. Also, the restaurant was quite packed and loud. However despite the problems, it was an exciting new experience and we still had a nice evening.

Casa rodizio offers the traditional Brazilian rodizio. The waiter will come to the table with different cuts of meat and slice it in front of you. The variety and quality of the meat is excellent, as it is the service and price. If you are a meat lover, this place is highly reccomended. Fantastic place to eat. The good is brilliant. There is so many different dishes to choose from and of course the meat keeps coming until you say stop....we tried it all and was really well cooked, beautifully flavoured and served on the BBQ skewer it had been cooked in with each bit being cut off the meat in front of you. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and I chose to leave a tip which is not always what I do being British. In this case the tip was very well earnt! It's a real shame we are not local but we will certainly be making a bee line for Vaquerios if we make it back up to York anytime..

What a fantastic place. We have been to something similar in Manchester so when we looked up places to eat in York this was on our "hit list" and it didn't disappoint. We went at 4pm to ensure we got a table, as I know if you leave it it later you really need to book. Food was lovely, staff excellent and very accommodating. One of the surprises was that they actually asked how you would like your steak cooked and made sure that it was to your liking when it reached your table ready to be carved. The staff couldn't do enough and despite us annoyingly taking pictures of every course, they always had a smile on their faces. One of the nicest things was that we accidentally left our picture that we had taken at the dungeons but only realised when we were back home the next day. I called them and they had found it on the table, kept it and kindly offered to post it back to us which we are extremely grateful. What a wonderful place and wonderful staff. I would highly recommend anyone visiting York, to make sure they visit Vaquerios for food. Just Perfect.

Wow! What a find. My girlfriend and I planned a weekend in York and booked this place in advance. The concept is fantastic in that you are issued a beer mat essentially which is green on one side red on the other. Various members of staff approach you over the course of your meal with large skewers of different cuts of meat (24 types) and if you're mat is green side up they just carve meat onto your plate, if its turned red they usually walk by. Brilliant! The staff were very welcoming, the price was decent for what we had and the atmosphere was great. We will be back again at some point I'm sure. Well worth trying.

WOW! BEST MEAT EVER! If you like steak and or meat this is the place to try it. The food was amazing, basically you help yourself to salad, then your waiters bring a never ending stream of different meats to your table cooked to your liking. I had lamb, chicken, belly pork, and god knows how many differet types of beef. Each had a totally different flavour from what youre used to eating elsewhere, its £25 and i think you can eat as much as you like. Amazing flavours from the quality of meat and how its cooked. The cokctails were pretty strong too. The only thing i would say is that the waiters need to explain the process a little slower but apart from that an amazing experience.

The waiting staff were quick to find us a table and offer us a drink, the salad bar was quite varied and the food plentiful on it. The staff explained the green and red card system but this was where the service fell down. We waited a long time between rounds of meat being offered. The serving was sexist as I was always given a smaller piece than my husband. He was on several occasions offered more meat which was not extended to myself. The same meats came round again and again. Whilst we were expecting a choice of at least a dozen only about five were available. Overall compared to many Brazilian restaurant experiences this was disappointing.

This is a meat lovers paradise although one of our party is vegetarian (two vegetarian options plus salad bar). Fantastic food including very fresh well made salad bar with excellent variety. No hesitation in recommending it and there are not many places i would normally recommend as highly. Impossible to go home hungry and very high quality too. Update: CASA RODIZIO is the new name for vaqueiros. Visited again 3rd October 2020. Covid restrictions curtailed the salad bar but the quality of the food and service remain outstanding. I have done over 200 reviews and this is my very favourite restaurant EVER! Owner has really thought about service too. Rather than have 5 meats arriving at the same time, he is trying to get us to pace ourselves to appreciate the different cuts and tastes. Take your time and enjoy👍😋

Damn this place is good! I came with my young family. Peppe really looked after us. My youngest is only 1 year old and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The quickly brought out a high chair and even had bottle warming equipment for us to use. Theyre really child friendly, the baby changing equipment was clean and new. Quite a good place, but be sure to know the Brazilian all-you-can-eat tricks :) Get just enough salad, not too much, skip the cheaper meats (probably a lot of those will be proposed before the especially fancy stuff). Also, if you go with multiple people, everyone has to finish the main course before anyone can get dessert, so ideally you would go in a small, dedicated group. :)

I reccomend taking small slices of each and sharing tgen when you getting ffull finish with large piace of your favorite. Its the red and green card system to stop them bringing more but i kept on green and just skipped a dish occasinoly.. worth the price, excellant servuce good standard of food and selction of drinks with a few traditional puddings to fiinish if you can manage it.

There's a few of these Brazilian steakhouses cropping up in the UK at the moment. Fazenda and Estabulo have been kicking around for years in the neighbouring city of Leeds and with great success. This offers a very similar service and standard. Very tasty food, wide range of meats and various cuts. Essentially its a buffet but the meat is carved fresh from rotisserie skewers at your table. If you've not experienced an all you can eat steakhouse and you enjoy your meat, its worth your while. Its worth noting that in these eateries, the salad bar and suporting dishes as it were are incredible.
