Last visit was probably 5-6 years ago.
Love this kind of old style beams building.
Service was quick. Roast beef meals were just the right amount. Really enjoyed …

Went York for the day stopped off here for lunch (said Sunday dinner so why not) 😁 bit outdated inside but kinda went with the charm and character of the building. Friendly and inviting, didn't have to wait to long to get served and the meal itself was very nice lots of meat and gravy with roasts and veg on the side. Really enjoyed it would recommend and go again.

Arrived with a group of 8 very nice food in a traditional building. I would have preferred more sides with some of the meals as they felt incomplete. A salad or garnish to go with pie and chips, mussels etc. The food did taste good though!

Loved the atmosphere, the ancient building, fish&chips was amazing, the staff is so kind and welcoming. Had to wait to eat here, but it was so worth it!! Totally recommend it!!

enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast. very welcoming and professional staff. prices were ok. Situated in an old building so there are steps to different floor heights, if you are at all unsteady.

Picturesque timber-frame building nestled in the shambles market. Nice atmosphere and staff, although one might be slightly betrayed when you're handed a perfect scone which is complimented by a cheap jam. Being a national favorite perhaps one could invest in richer condiments, really... a little effort would go a long way, especially as these items are charged. Also clotted-cream not whipped cream.
Alas I can't put one to sword enough without high points, great coffee and the menu looks diverse and scrumptious!

Dropped in for a latte, it came with a complimentary donut. I looked at the specials board for the day and as soon as I saw spaghetti carbonara, I knew where lunch was to be had. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and the lication adjacent to the award winning Shambles Market makes for an ideal stop off with ample seating both inside and out. A very well deserved ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 10/10 Borderline Eleven 😎 🌞 👌

Such a lovely coffee shop/cafe. Called in because we saw the coffee and donut offer. Lovely fresh donuts. It looks like they do a full selection of meals too.
