We had a couple cocktails in the newly opened pink room, our waiter was lovely and attentive even though he was looking after several tables. The cocktails were averagely priced and tasted great presented in an array of different glasses. This was exactly how I expect a cocktail bar to be; fun colours, good music and great drinks!

Went for an afternoon tea for today for my mums birthday. It was fantastic. We particularly loved the Yorkshire Pudding with the horseradish creme fraiche. I've been before for Dinner and the food was amazing. Such a great atmosphere too. Thank you

Creative and fun cocktails, food was excellent, atmosphere was luxurious and service was top notch. I walked up to the bar for salt and pepper for my steak and six employees made eye contact and went into action. You give our hometown (Vancouver, Canada) a run for its money. I highly recommend. Absolutely can't get enough of this place!! The decor is beautiful and the staff were amazing. The service was top and the way they catered to my very fussy children was a bonus. Cocktails were so good and the food even better. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a perfect night here for my sisters hen! There was a group of 17 of us & the service was amazing from start to finish, staff were so friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were also delicious and we were able to pre book the meal which was perfect for a large group! Thank you

It was the only place with availability in York centre. The outdoor seating was good. Cocktails were kind of ok. Food was a bit hit and miss. Certainly the sharing platter was pretty poor - some very cheap or old cherry tomatoes. Chicken and cauliflower cheese was good apparently but I didn't try them. Overall it was OK I guess. I wish I had dragged the family towards the cathedral as there are a lot more places there.

Smart friendly staff, and well presented delicious meals. Unfortunately the pot that my tea was served in hadn't been washed out properly before i came to use it. Also the table that we sat at had a broken leg that spoiled the otherwise beautiful decor. But the polite lady that served us, apologised and replaced the tea with a fresh pot, and offered us a different table.

Very disappointing, shame as it’s such a lovely location. The member of staff front of house is very abrupt and not friendly and the toilets are appalling. Only a couple of spotlights working so virtually in the dark, water all over the floor, one broken toilet and the bins overflowing. The member of staff I spoke to about it was not interested at all and just said they’ll be fixed tomorrow?! Not what you expect at such a nice venue and selling overpriced drinks.

A nice building to sit in, that has been very well fit out. Food is not too bad but the service is truly terrible. All the waiters/waitresses are completely disinterested, not once were we asked if everything thing is ok, we had to ask for one of our missing drinks 3 times and sat waiting a long time at the end for someone to clear the table/wait for the bill. A shame, as with a lot of places, massively let down by the staff.

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea here last week - the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so accommodating! Our party included a couple of people with specific dietary requirements and this was no problem at all, they still really enjoyed their selection. The sandwiches were really nice and the cakes were simply divine. The only negative comment I could make is that there was a little too much horseradish with the Yorkshire pudding! Overall, a fantastic time was had by everyone and we would definitely go back!

Loved the place. They got our food order wrong and then the bill wrong. They only do Americano and not proper black coffee. And I was nervous about the gluten free-ness of my food as they gave me gluten free bread but also fried pickles - and I checked and I couldn't eat them! The gluten free bread was so nice I was nervous to eat it which is... Good?

This building takes me back to a distant memory of sweetness, amazing building but whoever controls the heating and vibe check needs to go back to level 1. Hasn't got a grasp of mood lighting or warmth. Great attentive staff and cocktails were banging but yeah I'd avoid, as it's missing a couple of key elements, not vibey.

Called in on a whim for breakfast today and didn’t expect to get in as it looked busy but very glad we did. The food was outstanding (get the poached eggs with salmon!) and the service from everyone was friendly and attentive. Jack the on duty manager was only too happy to help and let us know of the plans for the building going forward. Definetly going to be a regular visit for us now!

What a fantastic atmosphere! Staff, especially Danny, were on point when it came to ordering drinks, didn't have to wait an age and were friendly and approachable. Prices are dear(ish) but with the live music in the evening, it's almost like being at a concert so you have no quarrels paying at all. The only issue I personally had was that smokers have to go out in the square as there is no terrace or quiet corner outside the bar but it is what it is. Will definitely go again

Very good quality food (would have given 5* for food alone), but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Waited 45 mins for three cocktails, which were then served at the same time as our starter. Could never catch to attention of the waiting staff. Only once asked if everything was OK (at the end of our meal) and then had the nerve to add 12.5% service charge to the bill! Badly in need of some customer service training.

The drinks were nice and we got a great table in the sun but the service was very disappointing. We were expected to order from the app/website but the internet connection in that area wasn’t good, when we brought this up with the staff and management we were met with rudeness and dismissed. I get that it was bank holiday weekend but the staff made us feel so unwelcome. That being said, Jordan was absolutely fantastic. His service was 10/10 and made up for it all.

Wonder bar and tea room, wonderful it is! Served by Aga who was outstanding! Greeting us as herself, just being friendly, that bit cheeky that I loved and not going through the motions (like a robot) Aga went above and beyond making sure we were got what we wanted and was happy. The food was amazing! Honestly, I would recommend and come back cause the overall experience has been amazing.

The young waiter was very thoughtful when he saw my husband was emotional he asked if he would like water. He did not only come back with one glass but two glasses with lemon and ice in them. This happened when he brought us our main order of tea and orange juice. I thought that is what you’re looking for a little extra on the service that is not on the menu - compassion, empathy and common sense. Thank you very much for you kindness.

Had been dying for this place to reopen after lockdown after hearing great things about the food and cocktails. We visited over the weekend and sat in the sunshine in the square enjoying a selection of small plates and cocktails which were TO DIE FOR! Great location to sit and people watch. Food was ok. Service was not ok. Paid £60 for lunch and drinks. When food arrived there was no cutlery, we had to ask for napkins and no condiments were offered. Wouldn’t hurry to go back.

Nice place to sit outside in the sun with a coffee listening to the buskers. You can only get served by using the app outside which meant some customers left without being served. They really need to reconsider this for the older generation. Many left thirsty and disappointed which wasn't nice to witness.

i came for lunch yesterday . we good greeting by a lovely girl at the door , then seated at the table . our waitress came to our table . i cant remember her name . but she had dark hair . its a french girl . she asked us about allergies and all guidelines about the covid 19 . because we were wating for 2 people to join , she asked us if we wanted any drinks or any nibbles while we were waiting . when the rest of our table arrive she came back . mentions all guideline with covid 19 , and what a substancial meal . she recommend a meal . i was surprised because she didnt recommend the most expensive meal . she recommend us to us the roast dinner . they were all lovely . well done to all your staff we will definetely come back to try all ur cocktails . we didnt have alcohol yesterday as were hangover so he only had soft drink

I came today. I got served by a french girl . I think she said her name was vanezza .
