X. L.Large range of Japanese food selections. You can always find something you like. Very good price match to the food standard. However, the service is the only weakness. (all of their staff seems rather too serious when they work. ) They're doing their job all right, but not surprising restaurant your day off here. I like the young girl who served us even she is not amazing at service. (much sweeter than others. ) Therefore it's a 5-star recommendation! I
S. X.If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant in York that has a huge variety of dishes to choose from, Ipfu is definitely the place to go. The staffs here are all very friendly and helpful, and if you're having a pot of tea, they'd ask if you need a refill (for free). The dishes are in good portions, especially the soup noodles - ramen, udon, and soba to choose from. There's also a sushi bar in the restaurant where you can sit at the bar and enjoy your meal (whilst watching the chef preparing food, if you'd like to)! The overall atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and since it's a big restaurant, you don't generally have to book to get in. I've dined in Ipfu several times and I'll always come back for the good food. Thank you!

Pleasantly surprised, the food and tea were both good. Spacious inside and easy to get a table (though we went late in the afternoon). Tables and chairs are clean, and frequently cleaned. Service is good, no waiting around and very prompt and attentive.
Worth a visit and recommend.
J.We visited this nice little Japanese restaurant around from the hotel 🏨 and I was thoroughly impressed!! Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. It felt quite authentic being in there. The food was divine I really recommend the Bento box selections as you can get a bit of everything. The price was quite reasonable!!!

G. H.Ipfu offers great food and a lovely environment. The sushi and sashimi bar is a great touch for those new to Japanese food and would enjoy seeing how the sushi wraps are put together. The waitresses kindly recommend pairings of food and advised on portion sizes.
The Bento boxes are a solid win for anyone who can't decide on a dish.
My only criticism would be the music choice. It was japanese, but didn't fit the restaurant vibe.
A. C.The food is so good. Sashimi is so delicious and fresh. Recommend beef enoki roll ( forgot to take pictures because it is tooooo good!) price is reasonable and the staff are all so nice. They recommended some new arrival, which are Hamachi sashimi and Matcha Sake, which are so nice as well, the sashimi is fresh and sweet and the sake has a very rich matcha flavour.
