Reviews of Lucky Days
K. R.
Nice friendly staff in a warming environment. Lovely coffee and the cake.
The food came after 30 minutes, which isn't bad, but it was pretty standard. The salad on the eggs benedict was a little dated. I bet the Lucky Day's Middle Eastern breakfast is nice but it was out of stock so had to go for generic veggie one.
J. W.
Nicely presented little cafe with really friendly staff. Quick service and a nice menu with plenty to choose from. We visited at 1430 on a Friday and the muffins and cheese scones had sold out which was a shame, but we chose alternatives and they were lovely. We've been here a fee times on our visits to York and always enjoy it!

This was a nice cafe. The hot chocolate and the chocolate fudge cake was very delicious. They also make their own fresh, flavoured scones which are nice. It’s a little small inside, and the toilets are up several flights of stairs. However, the place was clean and well kept. The staff are friendly too. I’d recommend this place, especially after lunchtime when it’s less busy.

Absolutely nothing bad to say about this quirky cafe. The staff were amazing, relaxed and easy to speak to, really positive.
The food options were delightful, portion sizes were great and plenty of gluten free options.
I had a goats cheese and chutney sandwich with gf bread (choice of white or brown) and then you get to pick 3 salads to have with it. All the dishes were bursting with flavour and it was a delight to eat there.
They are independent but have recently opened a 4th cafe (3 in York 1 in Leeds) and I wish them well in the opening of a 5th in the future, keep the ethos though guys!
S. H.
Absolutely recommend this place. Was greeted warmly by staff and promptly seated and our order taken without being rushed. I had the americano with oat milk and lovely warm and melt-in-your-mouth croissant with butter and homemade raspberry jam. Everything was to my satisfaction and would definitely visit again in a heartbeat.
C. R.
Fantastic breakfast and coffee! Lovely ambient, great cappuccino and very tasty eggs! Will definitely come back and would warmly recommend!
A. B.
Lovely tea shop with comfy seats. Saw they do cakes too, but didn’t get to try them. Really cosy space with very friendly staff
N.
Great tasting food, fresh salads and sandwiches. Quick friendly service even on a busy bank holiday. Reasonable prices for central York.
W. W.
We only stop by to have a drink this time (I had a lovely smoothie), but I have visited other Lucky Days in town. It’s a lovely cafe chain for a relaxing stop over.
B. C.
Really friendly staff. Good choice of food and drinks. Deceptively spacious with seating upstairs. The scramble egg and salmon was delicious.
T. W.
We had wonderful lunches at this cafe. As a vegetarian I was so happy to get something really tasty and nutritious. My husband, who's not a veggie, was very happy with his chicken meal too. Highly recommend this cafe for the food and service.
A. P.
Absolutely love it here!! The most delicious food and friendly staff! Definitely have to visit if you’re in York 🌞
G. J.
Popped in for a quick break during our visit to York, the cafe was clean and tidy with friendly staff. The food was good (spiced carrot cake, toasted fruit loaf and a pot of tea for two) though the portion sizes looked quite small on the massive plates! Would definitely visit again next time we're in York.
J. B.
Such a beautiful cafe/restaurant. The service was great and the food even better. Plenty of options, clean and fresh leaving you very with a very satisfied stomach.

Great little tearoom. They have 3 outlets in York itself, and I think 1 in Leeds, and are hoping to grow even bigger but retain that local feel. We didn't eat but the food looked delicious and was home made.
S. C.
The cheese scones looked amazing and they certainly tasted it!! Americano and Late were one of the best we’ve had. We’d definitely recommend Lazy Days… it’s nice to experience something different ❤️
R. M.
Walked past the window which caught our eye, looked busy and very nearly didn’t pop in by glad we did as we were seated downstairs in the back ( looked like a cubby hole, very quirky ) great staff and service. I had Shakshuka with feta, lots of flavour and lovely poached eggs, I ordered extra toast to mop it all up. The bread was fresh and the butter was tasty. My partner enjoyed his cooked breakfast and the fresh orange juice. Would go again
S. W.
We visited on Monday 30th this week, the first day of Half term.
They were busy but we were seated quickly.
We ordered from the breakfast menu a really delicious bacon sandwich we enjoyed a creamy cappuccino just perfect.
Thank you ❤️
R. F.
Dropped the Mrs off at Eric's for a meal with her friend and spotted a car charger in the car park nearby. Sat there charging and spotted this little gem. Hunger got the better of me so I popped in for a takeaway pizza.
Prices were very good, waiting time was approx 25 mins, not bad for a drop in, especially as it was a busy Saturday evening.
If I'm in the area, I will grab another, it was delicious
W. O.
Window Menu looked good and was quickly seated by nice, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere and plenty of customers. Everything going smoothly, customers looked happy, got ready for a great lunch. Went to boys room first and, only down side to the place, it was a long climb up steep stairs for an 81 year old. Made it eventually and settled back to be fed. Unfortunately, I'd been lured in by the breakfast menu (my bad, didn't read it properly) and they'd stopped serving that an hour before. A very capable young lady informed me that, although I couldn't have them, they had the best Eggs Royale in the UK. It's a nice place and I will go back for breakfast -- but be terribly judgey!! Will update when mission accomplished.

We Discovered this on an off chance and felt immediately welcome. Our Rodney (saluki puppy dwag) was very comfie and welcome. The food was great and the staff were very attentive. I need to be dairy free so I asked for them to surprise me. What came out was great. They realy thought about it. If you have the usual diatary troubles you will be very happy with what this cafe delivers. Thank you so much to the whole team. They even recognised us (even while busy) when we returned for tea and cake at the end of our day.
M. M. C.
Fantastic quick service, polite professional staff, me and my partner had the coronation chicken open sandwich followed by chocolate orange cake and pear and almond frangypani and Americano coffee and enjoyed every mouthful, great atmosphere as well. Do not pass it by, go inside, you’ll be glad you did.
M. C.
After a smarmy lady at the Lucky Days around the corner laughed in my wife's face for having the cheek to ask if there was a table free we wandered to this one and were met with an array of happy faces more than happy to accommodate us.
We were quickly seated, menus were presented and shortly after orders taken. Everyone opted for soup and drinks (as unfortunately we just missed the breakfast cut-off) and this was served quickly. Portion sizes could be a little more generous (like the salads are) for the price but the quality and taste was good. Cleanliness on point and all in all a pleasant experience.
Anyone not great on their feet might not welcome the ascent to the toilets on the 2nd floor but thankfully we were OK with that.
Summary, visit this one, avoid the other one.
S. G.
Have visited twice now, once in Winter, once in Summer. Welcoming, friendly service, superb, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Is now on our list of favourite places to eat.
M. G. L.
Good lunch here, but their portion size was extremely meagre for the price though. I’d have been happier with 1-2 more meatballs and a bit more couscous. Service was however not too slow. Recommended for a small bite (emphasis on small) as you explore York.
H. J.
Such amazing food, the staff were lovely and friendly - everything was so good. Especially loved that the staff let us know the toilets were upstairs before we ordered, as my Mum has some additional accessibility needs due to her arthritis; it meant we could make an educated choice about the best place for us.
J. C.
Stopped off just for drink to this small delightful cafe in Church Street York.
I must confess that the Blueberry & Orange with Lavender Jam is to die for so to speak.
Our wonderful waitress Sarah brought our order promptly with a smile.
Well worth a visit!!!
R. W.
Fabulous breakfast, with excellent variety on offer. Staff are extremely helpful and attentive, so all in all would happily recommend Lucky Days.
N. O.
What a find! Staff were excellent. Good choice of meals together with a choice of salads. Too marks for the cakes too!
A. M.
World class breakfast.
Absolutely loved this place. We both did. All the ingredients were tasty and fresh.
Staff amazing and happy and helpful.
Would recommend anyone to go.
F. A.
Vegetarian English Breakfast was below average and tea tasted liked hard water. We were also served in cups and plates that were not clean with tea stains on the side. We went on a bank holiday so not sure what the service is like on a regular day. Staff serving our table seemed unhappy and rushed. The place is otherwise located in a very nice area with a lovely summer view from the top floor window. Toilet was clean.
S. F.
Very nice, good food, good service, just a little expensive, but assume that's a sign of the times
C. B.
Cute cafe, plenty of choice on the menu with items being able to make vegetarian. The 3 salad option is probably the best thing on the menu. Only one loo on in the building made things awkward and the the actual room had a ceiling mirror and was Vegas themed.
I. A.
Great place for food, we had our breakfast (highly recommended the bacon buttie) here but they serve food all day, excellent value, well worth a visit
N. B.
We had lunch here during a day trip to York. The food selection was good with many choices from the Deli and salads soups and sandwich options. We had a tuna sandwich and a Moroccan chicken that both came with a choice of 3 included salad options. It was all good and the service was quick and friendly. They have seats on the ground floor and upstairs and there are a choice of sofas or regular tables with chairs.
C. M.
we came near the closing time so there almost no people. got attended very quickly and the lady was very very nice. very good GF carrot cake, super glad everything in the menu is vegan and some options can be gluten free. the size was kinda small for the price but lovely experience overall
A.
Good food but whoever heard of a cafe that does a fry up without a fried egg?? The only options were poached or scrambled. I asked for a fried egg but was flatly refused. Doesn’t the kitchen have a frying pan?
J. S.
This is an amazing place to meet and eat. Food heaven and staff super friendly. 5 stars all the way!
E. P.
Great choice of salads especially with unusual combinations: all I had were delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!
G. C.
couldn’t seem to handle a takeaway iced coffee and flat white
very uncomfortable
coffee was very sweet
staff just served others and didn’t make it obvious that they were doing our order
wouldn’t go again
D. W.
Nice place for a light tasty bite to eat.
Would recommend, very reasonably priced and lots of seating however with the extra seating being upstairs it's not practical for wheelchair users or pushchair, however they do have 2 other cafes that might be more accommodating.
C. H.
Tea and a cake the best way to finish a day out
R. J.
Really amazing veggie food for a reasonable price. All the salads and sandwiches are really lovely. Just simple food that tastes good and is pretty healthy too. The staff were also really nice and accommodating
M. B.
Best cafe in York... gorgeous food and lovely people.. a must for brekky! and the scones! oh the scones!... I'm very English lol..
D. S.
Went for a walk with my teenage son, spend some one on one time with him, went to lucky days for breakfast and wow, the quality of food was exceptional, the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten at a Michelin star hotel for breakfast.
My son had a full Yorkshire breakfast with freshly squeezed orange.
He can eat and he was full,
Lovely staff and nothing was a problem.
Definitely go there again.
B.
Me and my wife used to have a breakfast here every so often. But we won't again I'm afraid, at least not in the near future. Our today's visit was less than ideal. For starters three positions from breakfast menu were not available, again, they were not available week before too. How about warning customer before they order, like other places do. Next it took nearly 30min for food to arrive and customers who ordered after us got their much earlier than we did. Next was attitude of one of your waiters, who very rudely just dropped cutlery on our table and said absolutely nothing. It doesn't take long to say at least hello. Food was only ok, the poached eggs were solid inside and food was just warm enough. Lastly, there was no interest if we were happy with the food or service, just quick payment taken and run away. I'm truly disappointed, shame.
C. T. (.
Variety of salad to choose. Brilliant staff. Food quality is average. Recommend panini since it is crispy and warm.
L. B.
Excellent breakfasts... Although small the quality of the sausage, bacon and particularly the black pudding were second to none.
d. w.
A perfectly adequate breakfast. Coffee luke warm, but friendly staff and good central location
C. P.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff is here to make your experience as much enjoyable as they can. I totally recommend it
J. o.
Great spot for a hearty, healthy lunch. The food is fresh, well thought out and well prepared and the staff here are friendly and welcoming. Would go again
t.
This is a great place to eat breakfasts are great and the lunch menus are great to the salads are very tasty the staff are very friendly and helpful overall a great place to dine A+++++
W. H. S.
Great staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Me and the wife with had amazing breakfasts here, probably the best we’ve ever had.
Next time we’re back in York we will be back.
S. Y.
Lovely breakfast and nice staff, there was a slight mix up with my plate, I asked for no eggs and recieved poached eggs so asked they please be removed, then when I got it back I noticed I had no mushrooms but they brought me some as soon as I asked 😊 I assume there was just a slight mix up on the order system and it removed the shrooms instead of eggs but the staff were kind and helpful
C. F.
Unique blend of food and tastes! Most original lasagna I had so far. A must!
C. W.
Popped in to see if they had any gluten free options. Any sandwich on the menu could be done on GF bread and at least 2 cake options (which is always a bonus). Had take away order of a sandwich and piece of cake. Both delicious. Staff friendly. Reasonable prices. Will return next time I'm in York.
B.
Great place to sit, relax, eat with friends, lovely place, plenty of room upstairs as well. Food and drink was beyond superb, best coffee I've ever tasted, far nicer than a Costa, we'll worth the money... and then there's the staff. I haven't enough great words in my dictionary to descibe them... Helpful, pleasant, fabulous, lovely, just doesnt do them enough justice. This is definately going to be my 'go to' for food and drink.
L. H.
Really tasty lunch, friendly staff lots of choice for both vegatarian and meat eaters
A. C.
Great food very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and tasted lovely staff were amazing could not do enough for you
S. T.
The staff were very helpful. The coffee was great and the food really tasty.
A. G.
Went here this morning and the breakfast menu was appealing. Chose to sit inside and asked to wait a minute while they cleared table. Tile floor looked as it it hadn't been cleaned in a month! Didn't want to put dog's blanket down as it would have come up filthy. Food (eggs florentine) was nice if only luke warm. 3 stars due to cleanliness - dirty serviette un der the table alongside floor.
C. W.
A quirky food experience but totally delightful.. choosing your main and up to 3 salads entices you to be adventurous and try salads that you might not ordinarily eat... the quality is great and it represents good value for money.
M. H.
Visited today for breakfast, the food was nice despite the fact that the cup's and plates on which it was served were not fully clean but, what upset us the most was the manner in which the guy who work's here spoke to not only members of the public but the girls who were working with him. We overheard that they were short staffed but that in no way excused his quite frankly appalling way of speaking to them. I felt very sorry for the girls working at Lucky Days, they were obviously doing their best in very difficult circumstances.
S. S.
Fantastic food, even better staff. The salads are incredibly flavorful with the ingredients complementing each other really well (The basil, tomato and beetroot and the apple coleslaw are my favorites). The sandwiches are very delicious, the desserts even better (lovely sticky toffee pudding). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.
c. m.
I had the Shakshuka, it was delicious.
This cafe has introduced me to something new for breakfast.
Loved it
S. W.
A lovely Café which I highly recommend visiting. We were looking for an early breakfast and stumbled across Lucky Days Café and decided to give it a try.
I'm glad we did, the Cappuccinos, smoothies were amazing and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the eggs benedict.
A. L.
The hot chocolate and latte we had were fine, but the customer service just wasn’t great, we didn’t feel particularly welcomed by the staff and we felt quite ignored by the staff too. By the time the cake came we had nearly finished our drinks, and it didn’t feel like a place you could sit and enjoy your drinks either.
I. L.
Friendly and welcoming staff the panini was excellent and very tasty
C. B.
Slow service . Other than that friendly staff and good food & drink.
A. B.
We visited 3 times in 3 days. Blueberry Scone was delicious and enjoyed a tasty lunch the day after. Friendly service and a good spot to watch the world go by.
B.
Food was amazing , cannot fault it ! Lots of lovely salads to choose from . But the service staff were quite rude . I understand they were busy , but being polite doesn’t take up any extra time .
We also noticed that they charge an extra £5 per person for ‘eating in’ , even though ‘eating in’ consists of sitting in the rain outside .
P. G.
Excellent service, excellent coffee and tea, to die for blueberry scones with jam and clotted cream but most importantly they were still using proper cups and saucers rather than plastic mugs like most of the 'national' outlets nearby.
G. T.
Beautiful food in a lovely relaxed setting. You choose a main meal or meat such as morocon meatballs and choose 3 salads from the house list (all of which are fresh, delicious and beautifully presented). The service is fabulous and the cost is perfect for fresh food. The baking and desserts are wonderful also, well worth treating yourself while out.
A. M.
Had a lovely meal here served by some friendly, smiling staff. The food looks and tastes fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced.
My criticisms would be that the service, although good, was a little slow and that the tables were to small especially when the large round plates of gorgeous food were served. Not a great deal of room for any sides or drinks!
Aside my little Nik pick, I would highly recommend.
L. H.
Always served delicious food here the salads are yummy.
k. c.
Had breakfast here this morning best eggs Benedict I've ever had, yellow runny yolk eggs with ham hock and tarragon in hollandaise sauce was delicious. Sat outside fantastic social distancing and contact tracing. Happened upon another Lucky Days in the afternoon by York minster, where we stopped to have tea and cake, equally delicious. Fantastic 😁
R. B.
Nice restaurant, we were lucky to get a table and were a bit cramped but the prompt, friendly service and excellent (if slightly quirky) food more than made up for it.
T. D.
Me and my husband visited York last week and we walked pass Lucky Days the day before we actually went for lunch. Very nice little place we sat upstairs, a young blond girl was serving us she was very friendly, chatty and helpful and good knowledge regarding the menu. I had a really nice soup, my husband had a chicken dish and we both had scone after which was really really really nice fresh and tasty. Lot of restaurants or coffees could do with the girl like our waitress she was amazing. Thx
L. D.
Called in, first time this year. We sat outside and had a coffee and cake like we did before 2020 and all it's madness.
Tables were well spaced out and cleaned after every use. The staff were great and made us feel safe.
Although the World is different now, this was a welcome piece of normality.
J. S.
Lovely brunch and great service
B. A.
Fabulous breakfast I had the Posh Breakfast with poached eggs and my wife had the Bacon sandwich with scrambled eggs! We had both wanted Eggs Benedict which was was mentioned on the window menu but wasn't available at Church Street, Pity! It was about 7 hours before we started to feel hungry! The manager and staff were friendly and quite efficient! The restaurant was clean and tidy!
K. “. W.
A different type of Deli/healthy food. Great variety of salads and homemade quiche, pies etc. Well worth a visit. Three stores in the centre of York.
E.
Nice food but a little overpriced. My tuna sandwich was actually one slice of bread with a bit of tuna on top. It came with some nice salad. This dish was over £10.
A. S.
Excellent food and service. Clean and friendly, nice cafe
D. G.
Went in both over our stay at York, had Peri Peri chicken, tomatoes, coleslaw and pasta for a late lunch, Fantastic, great staff, this was on the main street. Had breakfast at the other one In the back streets, really nice, the girl couldn't do enough for me and my wife, put us at her favorite table, was lovely, big thank you to her, plus great music playing at both eateries
N. S.
Me and my partner was looking for somewhere quiet to eat some lunch and came across this restaurant. The customer service from the staff was 100% on point. The chefs rustled us up some amazing bbq pulled pork paninis and the 3 salads was out of this world. The cost was very very reasonable aswell for the large portion of food we received. I would highly recommend this place and will most definalty be back 🤗👌🏻
M. R.
Great food. Great service. Brilliant staff.
B. L.
Amazing place to stop off and grab a bite to eat. The food was lovely, the coffee is the proper deal for coffee lovers and not that cheapo burnt stuff!! Will definitely stop here again next time I'm in York
G. B.
Great little Restaurant's with lovely food and drink at competitive prices
T. G. D.
Really good food here, healthy lunch with lots of choice if vegetarian or not. Houmous open sandwich with roasted courgettes and aubergine with a choice of three different salads. Delicious. Will call again when in York. Doggy friendly too.
M. C.
Really great experience here. Came in for breakfast and we were seated in the potting shed area which was very cute and cosy. Customer service was fantastic and the waitresses did not forget about us even though we were in a more secluded part of the restaurant. Very friendly and smiley. Food was good! Did not take too long even though it was the busy in the days before Christmas. Would recommend and would definitely come here again.
R. E.
We had breakfast at one branch then ducked into another for a late lunch to escape the rain. Not actually sure now which ones we went in now but the food was absolutely gorgeous at both. Their veggie breakfast was brilliant and generous enough for a hungry morning. The salads that come with their lunches are really beautiful and give you a lot of different options too. Top food!
P. W.
Visited it today love this place but not on this occasion a wait was necessary for inside table fine it started to rain and a couple already seated wanted to move the staff member took them inside which in effect took our seat the couple chose to sit outside so in my opinion should not of been reseated as a result we left for another venue
F. T.
Nice food. Unfortunately they had run out of ham, so our 2 orders of ham and cheese sandwiches ended up with just cheese. (Personally I would have popped to a local shop to get some!) Just a bit cheeky though to still charge full price for the sandwiches. We won't be visiting York again, so the offer of a possible voucher wouldn't have worked!
J. H.
Wonderful little cafe. All of the food that we ordered was piping hot (except for the ice cream). The staff were very friendly and catered to our needs well. The Panini's we had came with plenty of going and more than enough salad/mixed leaves. The cakes were all very moist and clearly fresh.
The cafe itself was very clean and the seating was very comfortable. Interior decoration is defiantly something that doesn't follow the traditional cafe feel, yet it still works very well. Very happy to see so many of these independent cafes and restaurants opening in the area. Will definitely be returning in the future.
L. S.
Little restaurant close to the cathedral.
The food was delicious with a lovely selection of salads, plus the staff are very nice.
They have extra tables upstairs.
We went to Lucky Days at 77 Low Petergate St.
J. H.
We had breakfast both days here this weekend during a hen do, food came quickly, coffee was great and the breakfast was also delicious! Very affordable prices too.
D. R.
Really amazing service, and food quality is really great.
C.
Went today to have food here at 11:40 and ordered 2 soups. The soup was nice but then something horrible happened... we asked for extra bread and the young guy brought the bread to us IN HIS BARE HANDS! Instead of putting it on a plate... not hygienic at all because I also saw him clear tables....... won't come back to this Lucky Days anymore.
L. H.
Lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly and efficient, food gorgeous
I. B.
Can't praise lucky days enough. We visit York a lot, this is by far the best coffee shop/restaurant. Food is so tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. The staff are without fail pleasant and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Keep up the good work! See you next time we're on holiday in York.
W.
Just had the most delicious lunch. The salads are fabulous and the blueberry scones were the best we have ever eaten. Looking forward to rolling the dice at our next visit
Would definitely recommend this place, food, atmosphere and service all excellent.
m. f.
Thanking you
Lovely meal, served by a lovely young man Robbie, working very hard making sure everyone was enjoying their experience at lucky days. Team looked very efficient. Smiles all round thank you. Will return.
D. C.
My wife and myself popped in for lunch while staying in York for the week.. we have also visited one of their other places several years ago.
We hadn't booked in, but we were shown to a table very quickly on an upper floor, I chose the squash and aubergine lasagne with a triple salad and it was immense.. I felt fully satiated I can assure you. My wife Jill had their speciality meatballs and triple salad, she too was more than pleased with her lunch.
The staff were very well presented, polite and efficient.
We will definitely use one of their excellent restaurants again, maybe even this week on our break.
Thank You to Lucky Days for making a decent lunch an easy option.

Great staff and beautiful breakfast. Best orange juice in York!
S. D.
Tasty food with good service and nice ambience. COVID friendly with ample of outside sitting.
P. K.
Lovely food, especially the salads. Pity about the loo. The floor had black fluff that had collected around the skirting and behind the door. Needs a good clean. Toilets tend to show how busy a place.
D. R.
Lovely staff and very friendly. Dog friendly - we were stood outside with our puppy looking at the window display and one of the girls called us in saying dogs are welcome. Do try the scones especially the cheddar scone. Glad we decided to eat here
J. G.
Crossants with butter and jam. First rate coffee
J. A.
Not what it used to be. Such a shame. I used to love this place. Always go when I visit York. Very small portions for the price. Food only ok. Gave me Mediterranean chicken instead of Piri Piri. When I said this I was told they’re the same thing 🤦♂️ Not worth the money.
A. A. R.
Delicious breakfast options until 11.45am!
L. A.
Really friendly staff and table service. Loved the decor, alas no fruit scones but fruity toast more than made up for it. Coffee was lovely could have drunk a bucketful. Hubby had soup and roll, and a 2nd roll too! The staff are forever busy. If you need the loo DONT leave it till the last minute as you need to toddle up 2 floors ! A really welcome pit stop on our travels. Really wish sultana scones were on the menu ......maybe next time
N. C.
Dog-friendly and lovely staff! Delicious freshly-prepared food. Moroccan chicken casserole (first picture) and chicken and chorizo open sandwich, each with choice of 3 different salads - very delicious! Highly recommended café on 4 floors of a very old and characterful building. Great view of York Minster through window on the top floor!
F. M.
Excellent pain au chocolat. 👌
Toilet was at the very top of the building but was very clean.
Friendly staff.
A. M.
The sticky toffee pudding is amazing. I also love that we can take our dogs in.
B. C. W.
Have the posh Yorkshire breakfast! Genuinely the best breakfast I've ever had. I had it with a glass of freshly squeezed apple juice, which was also lovely. Lovely staff, nice and quiet. 5 out of 5.
W. m.
Excellent lunch. We had the goat cheese sandwich and 3 salads, roast chicken panini and 3 salads, child's ham panini, diet coke, water and cappuccino. All for £30. A small independent business, thoroughly recommend, lovely friendly staff.
J. D.
A very nice spot with lovely helpful staff. Coffee was very good and had some lovely cosy seats to get out of the cold!
A. D.
Lovely friendly staff and yummy food. We went for breakfast and everyone enjoyed it. Huge bacon sandwiches! The granola with compote and maple syrup is also delicious.
J. S.
Excellent! Our first visit here. Great service, good food, good coffee etc. Done!
H. S.
A lovely little cafe that has a decent choice of lunch options. Not the type of place you'd go for a Full English. I had the Pulled Pork Panini and it was gorgeous. Staff were also very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly.
J. C.
Really friendly little place for breakfast first thing Sunday morning. A little light handed but as it wasn't busy it was not a problem. Pancakes weren't fresh but were saved by the fresh fruit and presentation. With the sun streaming in through the window it was like a summer morning, in November.
E. G.
Really enjoyable lunch today - sandwich and salad delicious. We visited Lucky Days because they are dog friendy and we were made to feel very welcome - Harvey our Old English Sheepdog says thanks for having him. Friendly staff with smiling faces, quirky building and interesting menu - what more could you ask for.
A. W.
My family had breakfast at the Lucky Days Cafe a few days ago. The food was excellent. The only downside was that we had to wait a long time before it was served.
A. H.
Quality flavour just excellent service just what you would want staff very friendly help and knowledgeable of their menu. This will be my 1st choice in future
K. B.
It was an average culinary experience. All the food for around £8-9 but nothing extraordinary. The service was really great though and it's a nice place for a coffee!
A. L.
Great staff and great food. Always head here for lunch when in York. Good price with inside and outside seating.
P. N.
Cozy place in the centre of York with wonderful food and friendly staff. The portions and prices are good with seating indoors and outdoors.
C. S.
It's not bad.... Cauliflower and Stilton Soup great but unlimited granery bread isn't (unlimited... One slice), crisps stale. Overall food quality is good... But owner has gone for profit not customer experience.
M. H.
The food is just delicious (esp. butternut squash & sage lasagne) and the prices very reasonable. The place is just noticeably in need of a spring clean around the edges.
L. R.
Lovely food & service was fantastic been a few times now & never been disappointed 😋😋 yummy
D. D.
Lovely place, amazing food, healthy and tasty! Courteous staff! Could do with a bit of refreshing of the paint but I guess is part of the experience 🙃🙂
J. T.
Lovely place nice staff. Only negative was food was a little tepid, I like my stuff red hot
W. A.
Really tasty breakfast and friendly staff.
M. N.
Good healthy food and staff is very friendly, but can be more attentive. We ordered the Cambozola Panini and asked for red pepper instead of bacon but this was missed. All in all it was great though.
B. L.
Really cute, a bit pricey but such a nice place to chill with lovely cake.
N. P.
Brilliant place. Had a great selection of food and catered for children perfectly! reasonably priced too. highly recommend for a family on a day trip to york.

Breakfast on the outside cafe. Orange scone was delightful.
J. B.
Lovely place for tea and cakes , not to mention their meals ! Good background music , Snug , quick service and content people ! Also outside seating when the weather permits !
M. S.
Really good food, well presented with three different salads (from a choice of six). Drinks including Fentomans and herby sweet-potato fries as a side. Excellent.
T. D.
Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice interior and ambience. Great place for breakfast.
G. W.
I'm sitting outside in the glorious sunshine just having finished their 'Posh Yorkshire Breakfast'. What a treat! The food's great and the service pleasant and cheerful. Come to York people!

Good food and Nice coffee

When the high street is packed with establishments offering heart attack enducing, cheese melted over pastry 1000 calorie snacks that satisfy your pallet for a whole 3 minutes. This place is a breath of fresh air, offering a fantastic and healthy selection of homecooked foods at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere....do yourself (and your cholesterol) a favour and visit this place for a chicken peri peri salad, nom nom!
C. F.
Lovely place, great food and friendly staff.
M. L. C. ,. I. 3.
Great concept - if you roll 6, you can get money off your food and drinks orders, and the food is really really tasty, so it's worth it even with a discount, but the gamble makes it all the more fun :D
Sandwiches are my preferred option here - affordable and quick to get to go.
L. S.
Good service fair prices and competes well with all the many coffee bars in city
Toilets upstairs so not for disabled usage
Lovely spaces on three floors to sit chill and enjoy
R.
Great variety of deli items, sandwiches, paninis and soup - comes with choice of 3 out of 6 salads! Filling, healthy, quick service and delicious!
J. T.
Great little place. I feel I should help keep it quiet and not post about it... but it really is lovely. It’s a bit of an effort but the little room at the top is particularly quirky and you get a nice view of the minster.
A. H.
Amazing food and great vegetarian options, service was great and didn't have to wait for anything ☺ great place
A. T.
