S. O.First time at this Nando's. Ordered a half-chicken and 2 sides. Apart from the chicken being a little on the small side, it was great as usual. Service was pretty good if a little not interested.
G. I.Fun spot to grab a quick bite to eat. There chicken is great and you definitely get what you pay for. The sauce is really yummy to. Unfortunately they could do a bit better on the sides. Some of them were bland and boring. Other than that it was a great experience overall and I would come here again.
A. H.I visited this evening with my girlfriend for Dinner, and we couldn’t recommend this Nando’s enough. She has allergies so we put her food through as an allergy order, assisted by the manager. I ordered a wrap for myself. When the food came, there was no indication that my girlfriend’s food had been prepared as an allergen order. When I asked about it they were so apologetic, and went and remade the food as an allergy order. We then discovered that there was something wrong with my wrap too, so I asked if that could be remade also. I would have been perfectly happy with a remake and would still have left a glowing review, but the staff went above and beyond, giving us a full refund for both of our meals. It was Saturday evening and was so busy, but we felt truly cared about. We then ordered some desserts, which the staff wouldn’t take any money for, despite us repeatedly offering to pay. I couldn’t fault the customer service, and once the issues with our food were sorted they were lovely. Overall a very happy customer, would recommend this nandos to anyone!!

We were seated upstairs which was spacious, clean and fully stocked with plenty of sauces.
The food was excellent, the spict rice was spice than I've experienced before - thankfully the drinks are bottomless.
I ordered the Peri-tamer as I love the BBQ flavour which isn't on the main menu.

S.As someone who's not a fan of nandos food, this is a review of the experience but not the food itself. The inside was very cosy, and clean. The staff were polite and very helpful. One of the bets things about a nandos experience is the large amount of sauces you can get, and nandos york did not hold back, woth a good 10 random sauce flavours available. On top of this you have refillable drinks and who dosent love that. The nandos experience was very well delivered.

It's also split between two levels, I say this because I saw a few people look in and walk away as they thought it was full.

Nando's prides itself on a level of consistency other chain restaurants can only aspire to and it's this comfort found through familiarity that keeps us coming back time and again. It doesn't matter how far you find yourself from home you can be sure of two things, you will find a Nando's nearby and once you enter you'll be home again. The odds that you're reading this review as a prospective, new Nando's customer are very slim, you likely just want to know how this place stacks up compared to the others and in all honesty it's about the same so by that metric I have to give it five stars. On the off chance that you've read this far and are a Nando's newcomer, know this, it is okay, you're not going to be blown away gastronomically and there are nicer places to eat in most towns and cities, including York, but it's alright and you'll probably have a decent time. That being said I always think it's quite impressive when someone says they've never been to Nando's before, and is it worth giving up that interesting little part of yourself for a bit of chicken? That's a decision only you can make.
W. A.Excellent restaurant, very family friendly really good atmosphere. If they're isn't a table ready at the time of you're request they usually have one available within the hour just give the waiter you're number and last name. Food was delicious so many choices, 5 different spices from mild to very hot. Shall be looking forward to our peri fix next time.

However，there are something confused me：We waited for about 15min and the staff said the table is available and we can go upstairs. We went to the upstairs as following the staff‘s guide，but there are no staff showing us the table. After we found a table ourselves and ordered the food by scanning the QR code on the table（about 5min after that），an another staff came and asked us if we are in the queue.
I have no idea about why that staff did not show us the table and asked us that question. This confused me a lot.

It is not obvious how to "check in" as it is via a small notice on the window that resembles every other covid qr code, he was rude when we returned to take our table and didn't even bother to thank us on the way out. Everyone has a bad day but leave it at home if you are the face of your restaurant. 5 stars to the two young staff members upstairs.

Wheelchair/buggy accessible entrance. Disabled toilets available. Great location, very clean and tidy environment plus toilets well monitored.
If you haven't tried Nando's I highly recommend the Afro - Portuguese chain restaurant serving flame grilled chicken in mouth watering spicy chilli sauce yummy. Good for the whole family.
P. C.My all time favorite restaurant. At least 7 times got full free chicken with my bonus loyalty card.. made me fall in love with chicken. Peri Peri sauces yum.. I prefer medium spice chicken . Out of sauces lemon , wild herbs and medium spice one.. ample seating in 2 floors..

E. G.Nando's is a firm favourite, but this was the first time that I have visited Nando's in York. Not disappointed at all. Food was fresh and tasty as always. Our group of 7 was easily and quickly catered for. The staff were very helpful. The decor and building was different to the usual Nando's layout as there were 2 floors and features such as a fireplace and mantlepiece, but this fitted in well with the old, beautiful surroundings of York centre. Can recommend for relaxed eating.

ブ.It was absolutely wonderful time. It was my.son's bd day. He always like nandos just like other boys. We took cup cakes to celebrate his birthday. My favorite staff there who I guess she is Spanish or poss Portuguese did really good job for us. She prepared cupcakes with candles for us and sang for us. Thank you.

Nowhere is home anymore, the sky is consistently grey, life an ongoing description of melancholy with no end? Well boys, let me tell you the pain does seize, and it's when you walk into this Nando's, because in Nando's- you are home.
"You been here before?" The waiter chimes redundantly, she knows your response. You're escorted to whatever table you want, menu in hand, what heat you feeling today? Personally, I started with mango & lime (stay away from lemon and herb unless you're a normie.) I've since climbed the ranks, settling at a medium for a while before climbing up to my current state of HOT. I hope to eventually graduate at Extra Hot, but your Nando's journey isn't a sprint, it's a leisurely stroll through a world so perfect, no description I could muster would suffice.
Half-way through this banging meal, waiter comes over, grabs your chicken stick (cheeky) and banters with some "everything alright for you guys?" Of course it is, it's serene. I will ask for some mayo though, soon to be produced in a small pot because apparently, we can't be trusted for getting our own mayo (not applicable to ketchup and other condiments.)
Overall, Nando's is your home. It's the residence of your late, that you wish you could go in 'just one last time.' It's a house of everything you need and more, averaging at £14.00, depends if I get an extra garlic bread (classic.)

B. m.I can not count how many times i have eaten at nando's and everytime the food was excellent as can be expected. Unfortunately we decided to have a sit in meal at the York Branch, all i can say is never again. Ordered chicken breast fillet burger and not only was it over cooked-dry but the size of the chicken fillet was half the size as it usually is, the bread roll bun was hard as if it was left too long in the oven or left out. Staff was great but i could not be bothered to explain as we got into York early and was hungary but left very dissapointed. Never again for that price and quality.

The so-called "piri-piri" chicken brings the flavours of the Iberian peninsula to the damp shores of Albion. However, a potential diner must beware, for the "piri-piri" spice bouquet can be overwhelming for an unprepared English palate; I would most certainly recommend that one begin with the milder flavourings, such as the delectable "lemon & herb" dressing.
The South African influence is also clear; it shines through most clearly in the fine contemporary artwork adorning the walls, smoothly integrating a "trendy" global edge with a venue in the heart of a beautiful Medieval city, and the music playing at a tasteful and refined volume, much to the pleasure of many a satisfied diner.
Of course, while Nando's is most highly reputed for its chicken dishes, the vegetarian options are equally impressive; my own Medium mushroom & halloumi burger was a seamless global concoction, blending perfectly the flavours of the eastern Mediterranean with Iberian spices while staying true to the establishment's roots.
The service was prompt and helpful, never short of a smile, and we were pleased to receive attention from the waiting staff throughout our visit.
The price was more than reasonable; indeed, the same dishes served in a restaurant of greater repute could command a much higher price. When combined with the presence of a clever reward scheme, which we of course signed up for immediately, the value for money of the dining experience as a whole is difficult to understate.
I would highly recommend Nando's to anybody in search of food that transcends global boundaries to effortlessly create a distinctive global dining experience.
