Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice food, but the desserts were slightly disappointing; as we were using a voucher from Buy a Gift I can’t really complain as the price was amazing. A lot of veggie options even on the limited set menu. Will definitely visit again.

We were a “walk in” / no booking, but good timing as got seated straight away (approx 4pm on a Tuesday). Great initial polite service received considering the waitress was working the floor alone, however we felt this service lessened towards the end of our meal, as the restaurant got busier - even despite an increase in waiting staff! Food was great too.

We were visiting the area and staying in a local hotel. We were not overly hungry but my wife needed to eat for medical reasons. We chose Prezzo. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a clean table. Emma was our waitress. She ensured we were well looked after and answered questions on the menu with ease. The food was as ordered and very enjoyable. Despite being very busy Emma ensured our visit was enjoyable even supplying a complimentary drink as she realised it was my wifes birthday without prompting. Excellent restraunt with excellent staff leaving us with excellent memories.

I visited on my birthday AND when they realized they reimbursed my glass of Prosecco! Nice gesture! The lasagna was.excellent, AND The fetuccini carbonara as we'll! The king prawns were not that "king" but the sauce was very good. Nice wines, good Prosecco, AND a acceptable cheese vale AND expresso completed our birthday dinner! We were wounderfully waitered by very proffessional staff! Italian food well served! Let' say 4.5 stars! Thanks for a enjoyable night!!

We came across the Prezzo Italian Restaurant by pure luck , but we know realise we had all the luck . The front of house member , the waitress , the chef and the food were in a class of their own . Was our our first but not the last visit .

Very good quality food despite it being a chain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Decent selection here ranging from pizzas and more traditional pastas all the way to burgers. Little bit on the pricey side of things, cost us £60 for a three course meal for my girlfriend and I, with one round of drinks. Bit quiet in here as they don't play music anywhere other than the kitchen which is a bit odd when it comes to the later stages of the night and there isn't as many people in filling the restaurant with chatter. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely and is definitely an enjoyable stay which is also dead close to town!

Good food, but felt rushed. The venue is nicely decorated as you'd expect from a Prezzo. The food was tasty and the wine easy to drink. We arrived at 6:30pm having made a booking but we felt rushed to choose our food and drinks. The restaurant became quite empty about 7:15pm and the staff were still making us feel rushed. Italian place, friendly staff, they received us even without reservation (should've reserved first !) But the thing is we were just coming out of st Mary's Van Gogh exhibition, and this place looked promising. I had the salmon, and it was excellent, crunchy skin with a delicious gravy, and some vegetables, probably desserts need to improve a little, but still enjoyable.

I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the service has varied massively from being all but ignored the first time, to having a very attentive server on my last visit. The food is always pretty good, though I wouldn’t suggest upgrading to the larger pizzas as I found they used hardly any toppings (it was a sunblush tomato pizza, with about 6 tomatoes on it). Try to get seated on the right hand side of the door, the tables are more spaced out and the view is nicer. The cheesy garlic bread sharing starter was nice, and the fried mozzarella was a bit of a let down because the sauce that came with it was fridge cold.

We just finished a lovely meal at Prezzo in York, thanks to our wonderful son for arranging this for us. My wife had stuffed mushrooms for starters which were delicious and I had bruschetta. We both had spaghetti Bolognese which is one of our favourites and my honeycomb cheesecake was superb whereas my wife's tiramisu was disappointing The restaurant is situated in a great location and the staff looked after us well throughout the evening. Problems when we don't reserve dining! So although there were some empty tables without reservations of course no table was given. So we did a takeaway. A pizza and a salad. Pizza wasn't cut up and no cutlery was provided, fair enough and great since we are all saving the planet. So this is a point to note for anyone who gets a takeaway and decides to eat it outside. The food was nice, but the whole attitude of if you don't have reservations you are treated like you have committed a crime is really something we did not appreciate.

Great location, on a slightly quieter street compared to other Italian chains in York. Staff were very smiley and friendly. Very tasty pizzas- the goats cheese and pepper pizza was very good with gooey melt-in-the-mouth cheese. The chocolate bombe - oh my, absolutely incredible. Possibly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!! All in all a lovely meal - five stars for the food and friendly service. The toilets could do with a bit more staff/cleaner attention on a busy evening.

(Visited Jun 2019) My family and I came here on Father’s Day: it was one of the only places that accepted tastecard. Our previous visit to a Prezzo was a bit of a let-down, but this time around we were all far more impressed! I ordered the roasted salmon fillet: this already comes with vegetables, but you also get to choose a side. I wasn’t quite sure what to go for, but I’d recommend paying the extra 25p for the fries infused with truffle oil and shavings of cheese. Although chips and veg is a bit of an odd combo, they were lush! For dessert, I went for the Salted Caramel Chocolate tart. I enjoyed it, but a bit more caramel sauce wouldn’t have gone amiss. My dad and brother got the Chocolate Brownie Dome which was an interesting and tasty-looking pudding. My Mam would have got the Honeycomb Smash Cheesecake, but there was none left. Service was prompt and friendly. We were very pleased, especially at the value for money!

Our waitress was an absolute delight and made a great meal that bit more special. The 3 Christmas courses for £19.95, is great value and there is good choice. If you are on a budget, have two courses for £16.95 and share the starter and desert. Prezzo expect this and will bring extra plates. The Humus is an excellent share. The venue is up there with all good Prezzo restaurants. Toilets are downstairs, at the same time those with mobility difficulties are catered for. Great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Prezzo provided an upstairs room at our request ( we didn’t want to disturb other diners!) and a lovely lady who attended to our every need. Very average experience. Service was slow and forgot a couple of things. They had to be prompted to take our order and bring the car machine. Food is average, dont expect great things from this place. The prawn starter was covered in a basic tomato sauce and the pizza looked like it was cooked from frozen. Went to prezzo for a birthday treat for me with my husband and it was the most amazing meal we had wasn't feeling very hungry so decided to have the meal deal of 3 courses for either 14:99 or 14:00 which we thought it would be small and enough but how wrong did we get it. The meal was 3 full meals it was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were lovely, pleasant and very polite. The food was good and the staff were lovely but it seems to take an inordinate amount of time to be served. 45 minutes after we sat down, our starters came (We ordered hummus so it definitely didn't take that long to make.) All in all, good but not where you should go for a quick meal.

My daughter in law and me visited yesterday and it was my first time. We had a lovely lunch and brilliant service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. However, the reason why I've got given you a 5* is because I had a rhubarb and ginger gin with tonic. When it came I didn't notice till I'd taken a couple of sips and there were 2 slices of cucumber in the glass as garnish. I'm sorry but it spoilt it for me. I know I should have said something there but I didn't. I will visit again but no cucumber please.

My wife bought me a Gift Experience Voucher for Christmas (An Activity Superstore Voucher from Next for Italian Dining Experience for Two) and we decided to put it to use this week. On further inspection of the voucher and the accompanying email I noticed it said set menu, so due to the fact that my wife doesnt like her food too spicy, I gave the Prezzo on Clifford Street in York a phone call to check what this "set menu" consisted of. I was told that some of the gift vouchers do have set menus, but the one I had, the manager said it was fine to order any items of the A La Carte menu. I also booked a table whilst on the phone. Great I thought. My wife and I had a look at the menus online and we both (after some to ing and fro ing) decided on our starters, mains, desserts and drinks. On entry to the Prezzo, we were greeted by (I presume) the manager as he was not dressed in any particular Prezzo uniform just a shirt and jeans. He did look just like one of the other diners to be honest. Anyway he looked around for a table for two, and we had to literally squeeze between two other sets of couples who were already seated. We were given our menus and we took a look at them. Around five minutes later, one of the waitresses approached and asked if we wanted to order drinks. As the drinks were included with our voucher, I gave her it and told her that we had a gift voucher. She immediately looked crest fallen and told us to wait, and she disappeared. She reappeared some ten minutes or so later, snatched the menus from us, and gave us other menus, the "set menu" that was printed on an A4 sheet of paper. She then pointed to the top of the menu where it told us what drinks we could choose from. We both went for a Pepsi. As we had already decided before we arrived what meals we were planning on having, we were now having to decide all over again, this time from a very smaller selection, most of which contained chilli, which my wife wouldnt be able to eat. Not even a plain spaghetti bolognaise So out went the calamari fro starters and lobster and prawn linguine instead we both went fro giant meatballs in tomato sauce, my wife went for a plain pizza, and i had some pasta dish. I went for the panacotta for dessert and my wife wanted hot fudge pudding. The starters came and were very good. Basic but good. Nothing too fancy. The main courses were again good, but basic. The pizza was quite large for one person, but the main problem was the crust. It was very hard to cut. The pizza overall was good, but Ive had better from a takeway. The pasta again was tasty but only slightly average. As we were then waiting for desserts, the waitress informed my wife that they were out of Hot fudge pudding, and suggested instead she should have the "chocolate dome". Which when it came consisted of what looked like a half tennis bowl sprayed gold and plonked on top of a bit of chocolate cake. Overall our experience at Prezzo was average. I wouldnt say I would go back, especially paying the over inflated prices for "average" food. The service was adequate although I got the feeling from the waiteress that as soon as we said we had a gift voucher and no monies were exchanging hands that she thought a tip was out of the question. I would give Prezzo 3 out of 5 - there are better places to go at this price

We was a party of four going for food before visiting the theatre. We called the restaurant earlier and they told us that we where not required to book. When we went to Prezzo later in the evening the waitress told us we would need to wait for twenty mins before we could sit. So we waited and then when I told the lady manager about the fact I called earlier in the day, she told me that I was wrong and would of been told we was advised to book. She had a horrible accent was not very polite, customer always been right means nothing! I had the Tre Gusti pizza that I had to wait nearly ONE HOUR whilst my friend had to wait 30 minutes for her Beef pizza. So when mine did eventually come, everyone else had finished. The pizza was also very dry and had very little sauce and cheese. When we complained, this lady manager only offered us coffees. We was most unsatisfied. We got no good service whilst dining at this restaurant and for the price you pay you would expect a proper restaurant experience. Slug and lettuce is cheaper and has a better trained manager and floor team. Don't waste your time and money here.

First time visiting this chain after hearing good reviews about a London branch and wandering around York one lunch time. The restaurant was full when we arrived (always a good sign, but even better on a weekday-Thursday during easter holidays). As we had never been before we were unsure if you seated yourself or had to wait to be shown to a seat. The staff walked past us a few times without letting us know if we should wait or find out own seats which was a bit annoying as we were blocking the doorway not able to move anywhere else. They were very busy so I understand but they could've asked us to bear with them. After about 5 minutes one of the staff gave half of us menus and told us we would be waiting for a family to finish up and then we'd have their table. The table was cleared quickly and once we were seated the service was great. Kids menu was £6.95 for 3 (very generous) courses plus a drink. We were served our food within 15 minutes of ordering ( the child's starter came almost immediately 👍) the food was delicious and portion sizes were enough to have some as a doggy bag! We ordered 2x lasagne and one pollo carbonara. Only downside is that the lasagne is not served with salad so ordered a few sides too. Overall very good experience. Would definitely visit again!
