Care In Hand gave me many opportunities to improve myself, learn new skills and gain confidence. They have supported me throughout the whole process and they are always happy to help as much as they can. I was pretty nervous at first as I have never worked in social care but the training and shadowing shifts as well as supportive colleagues helped a lot to gain confidence. Lastly, the company is quite flexible and they always try to do their best to make the shifts suitable for you.

I have worked at care in hand for a couple of years now and overall I really enjoy each and every day. Working during the covid pandemic was hard with staff shortages and sickness, however coming through the other side I realise that it has made me stronger and has enabled me to expanded my knowledge within the care sector. I find the carers that I work with are lovely and caring and are more than happy to show you what to do if you are moved out of area and onto a different run. I personally have found that certain members of the office staff have been extremely helpful when I have needed to change my runs, my days or even my rota. Each and every day at care in hand is different and you never know what you’re going to walk into, however that’s all part of the job and the part I actually wouldn’t change! Since starting with care in hand I feel like I have grown as an individual and it has enabled my confidence to grow. The feeling of being able to care for someone, enabling them to be able to stay and live in their own home is such a rewarding feeling.

I've been working with care in hand for a couple of years now as a mental health support worker, and it's the best job I've had! Management is fantastic! They see you as a person not just a staff member, and really try and work with you and work around any obstacles to help you fit work around your life the best way possible. The training and ongoing work towards qualifications are brilliant! And the skills I'm learning here will be so useful for either progressing within the company or if I want to go in another direction with mental health training in the future. The wage is great too. But the boost to self confidence the job has given me and the understanding of management has really made this job stand out to me above all others I have had. I had never had a job in social care before so I was incredibly nervous, but they offered me extra shadowing shifts etc till I felt confident and that really helped me so much too.

If you’re looking for a career that’s both fulfilling and rewarding this is the job for you! Simply being able to put a smile upon someone’s face or see them giggle. Becoming a care assistant is a fantastic way of putting your interpersonal skills to good use! Care in hand offer great rates or pay, career progression opportunities, as well as the ability to gain more qualifications! The first time I worked for care in hand was before I was a parent, I worked with them for over a year, as soon as my son was old enough I rejoined the team of fantastic carers that I work with now!
