Reviews of Ivy Court

My father has been at Ivy Court since March 2016 so over 5 years now, following a serious stroke. I have seen many changes in staff over those years and many managers. Throughout everything I have never doubted that my father's well being and care has been paramount. He has huge health issues and staff are always caring and helpful. I fear his time at this nursing home may be nearing the end now but my siblings and I will be forever grateful to the staff at Ivy Court for everything they have done for him over the years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursing home.

We have had dealings with Ivy Court Care Home since May 2019, We were in the unfortunate position of my father having had a massive stroke which left him needing 24hour care and he previously to this was my mothers carer as she has Alzheimers.
So we needed a care home that could cope with both their very different needs and most importantly we wanted them to remain together in the same care home, whilst getting the right care for each of them.
Ivy Court fitted this bill perfectly, the minute we walked in the door we knew this was the one! We were greeted immediately and shown round, every member of staff that passed us, said hello and even stopped for a chat. The facilities are just incredible and in fact it really is more like a hotel. The corridors are wide and everything is spotless, every room is nicely decorated, the bistro area is just perfect for not only the residents but for relatives visiting and such a fantastic garden for them to spend time in.
Over the last 2 years we have visited too many times to mention and never once has there been any issues.
The management and staff cannot do enough for you and any questions are all answered. The food is incredible and very varied, the chef goes round and asks the residents what they would like and any dietary requirements are all dealt with seamlessly.
The activities team are out of this world!! they are incredible with the residents and get them all joining in, something my mother particularly likes to do. They do baking, colouring, knitting, flower arranging, exersize, dancing, pampering and so many other things far too many to list. But there is always something going on. They have outside singers come and entertain which seems to be very popular, as well as family events.
There are trips out which are always looked forward to, but obviously due to the pandemic things have been a lot different.
We have been extremely impressed by the way they have handled the Covid pandemic. Although very sad we couldn’t visit, their priority was the safety of all their residents of which we totally agreed with them. They not only upped the activities for them, they arranged for families to have wassap / zoom calls so we could always keep in touch.
Very sadly for us my father passed away a couple of weeks ago, he in the end received palliative care and in our opinion the nursing staff & all staff could not have done any more. He was made as comfortable as possible and we were given updates at every change, he was never in any pain.
There are not enough words for us to express how grateful we are for how they treated my dad and mum at this time and in turn us. They were and still are so good with my mum as she really didn’t grasp it all. They were always at the end of a phone and the managers door was always open!
Since my fathers passing they have been keeping an excellent watch on our mum to make sure she’s ok, and she’s got company.
Ivy Court is just incredible and there is not one single thing we had or have any concerns about. They just naturally go the extra mile.
The management and staff are just the best from the top to the bottom. Its lovely to see and be a part of, its like home from home!
Our decision 2 years ago was one of the best we have ever made!! Thank you all the staff at Ivy Court, we cannot thank you enough!!!

My precious Mum has been looked after at Ivy Court Care Home since June 2019. As a family we feel at great peace knowing Mum is in such excellent, expert and caring hands. The staff are lovely and since the new manager Alison came on board the home has gone from good to great. During this past year of incredible stress for all, the home have been incredible at keeping the home Covid free - sacrificing their own social activities outside of work to safeguard residents and colleagues - and we have been so thrilled to have regular Skype calls with Mum. We were also able to visit in person (socially distanced, PPE & screens in place of course), when lockdown restrictions allowed, and the organisation of these visits has been impressive. I am thankful daily that my Mum is in the excellent and compassionate care of Ivy Court. I whole-heartedly recommend this care home.

My auntie has been living at Ivy Court for a couple of months now and when I went down to visit her I was really impressed by the place, both the physical environment and the friendliness and caring nature of the staff.

The care under Alison's clear leadership has been impressive, transparent, professional and above filled with real kindness. Processes to safeguard residents and staff around covid were outstanding with decisions on access - difficult when emotions are fragile and people are fearful - clear and well considered. Above all, the thoughtful and dignified care at the end of mum's life for which my family will alway be grateful. Thank you.

As a new member of the Ivy Court team, the holistic approach to the care which residents receive is phenomenal. Person centered, meaningful and with widespread core values of fulfillment and enjoyment, the residents needs and choices are at the forefront of all that is planned as activities. The home offers social events, physical exercise, arts and craft, music therapy, mental stimulation, Holistic and spiritual support, sensory stimulation and fully supports all types of important family communication through all technology and platforms. This is a full and varied program and delivered by wonderful people. The extra support for the wellbeing of both the residents and their families during these recent tough times have seen the very best come out in all.
The past should not cloud the present and the very positive future direction of this amazing home and all that work within. I always truthfully say if I had a grandparent needing care, this would certainly be the place I would want them.

Since the appointment of Alison as home manager I have seen so many positive changes, she leads a team who are passionate and dedicated in providing the best possible care for the residents and their families at Ivy Court. Well done Alison and the team!
