J.My Dad suffered a severe stroke in January 2021 which left him paralysed, very little speech and unable to eat or drink (peg fed) and had very complex medical needs which sadly meant we had to look for a full time care facility and Hengoed Court was highly recommended by the district nurse and other medical professionals.
From day 1, he was so warmly welcomed and was impeccably cared for by all staff members.
Sadly, he was only there for 4 months before he passed away but in that time he was treated with great dignity and respect, thought of all the staff as friends and loved to laugh with them.
All of the care team and nurses became an extended part of our family and helped make a very sad, difficult time more bearable and for this we will be eternally grateful.
During my Dad’s stay we were always made to feel comfortable and welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble! We will always be grateful for the endless cups of tea and biscuits which were always offered.
From the beginning we were 100% confident that my Dad was being so well cared for and he was treated like a cherished family member by all the carers, nurses and staff who were all equally devastated when he passed away.
We will be forever grateful for all the lovely people that we met and thank everyone at Hengoed Court from the bottom of our hearts.

s. h.I would like to comment on the care at Hengoed Court care home. the staff are absolutely fantastic. The dignity and respect that they showed towards my mother in law was second to none. I would recommend this home as it gave me and my husband such peace of mind with the care that was given. It took us a long time to come to terms with putting our loved one in the care of someone else but after a few days we realised that it was the right choice . Hengoed Court was like home from home.You can visit at any time and you are always greeted with a smile and a friendly face.
I. L.My wife and I were very reluctant about her father having to go into a nursing home having had a very bad experience with my father, but when we visited this home we were absolutely blown away with the very caring disposition displayed by all the staff.
My father in law needed 24hr nursing care and, although his stay was for only a few weeks as he suddenly passed away, the care given to him by all the staff was absolutely amazing. They were all very friendly nothing was too much trouble. When the time came they showed great empathy and consideration of our needs, as well as my father in law's, making this very distressing and emotional time that bit more bearable. We were given as much time as needed before and after his passing to try to come to terms with our grief, and we cannot thank the staff enough for this.
This home is a shining example of how a care home should be run: tremendous facilities and outstanding staff. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

J. B.Recently put my mother in Hengoed. (Dementia). The staff are truly ‘person centred’ and really care. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
The place itself is wonderful. Clean, spacious, roomy.
The grounds are amazing.
If you are hesitating about putting your loved one in - stop hesitating. You won’t regret it. I now sleep at night knowing she’s safe, secure, warm, clean.
