A. G.The family were most impressed with our recent stay at 'The Mill' on A Brecks Away Holiday. Countryside setting, with easy access to York and surrounding areas.
Our expectations were met, as one would hope, on opening the front door.
Lots of attention to detail, gave our stay a home from home feel; including
a most generous welcome pack and huge beds for a good nights sleep!
Clean accomodation, with modern facilities, whilst retaining original character features. In addition, a private area outside for dining/entertaining.
Would not hesitate to recommend Guy and Tracey's lovely accommodation any time of the year. Thank you.
E. R. w. C.What a beautiful place. Beds were the most comfortable I've ever tried, and unlike some holiday cottages, they managed to provide exactly what you need in a home away from home. Also some lovely extra touches.
Super clean and spacious. The grounds were lovely and the children loved seeing the animals.
Tracey and Guy were really friendly and helpful.
We'd definitely stay again.
L. B.We spent 2 very comfortable nights at The Mill (3-bed). Guy and Tracey really have thought of everything - the kitchen was very well stocked with equipment and milk/tea/coffee/biscuits. We particularly enjoyed the homemade apple juice! The place was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the location was excellent for day-trips into York. We'd definitely stay again next time we're in the area.
K. D.What a fantastic Easter weekend we had in the Tractor shed! Prior to arrival communication was easy, Guy and Tracey made sure we had a travel cot for our youngest and set up the bedrooms as we requested. We had eggs, bread, milk and delicious home made apple juice waiting for us as we arrived and the entire accommodation was really clean and had all we needed for our stay. The location and cottage were perfect us, our kids (4 and 2) absolutely loved seeing the sheep’s and ducks each day and they had the best time. There’s lots to do locally and we will certainly be back to explore more. My 4 year old even gave Guy a drawing she did of ‘the best holiday home’! If you have young children you will not be disappointed, this place is just perfect.
J. L.The Parlour at A Brecks Away is a perfect Holiday Cottage near York. The cottage has outstanding luxurious accommodation for that well deserved break. Set in the rural countryside convenient to the centre of York with easy access to all surrounding areas. With safe off road parking the cottage has everything needed to enjoy a comfortable stay. Relaxed sitting area with log burner, TV and adequate lighting, well equipped kitchen with generous Welcome Pack. A stunning super king bedroom and large shower/bathroom. Under floor heating to welcome your arrival and good wifi throughout the cottage. Guy and Tracey are the hosts and did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We even had a Christmas tree with lights. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit.

The apartment/cottage is spacious, cosy and has everything you would need - especially if you have a dog with you.
The best things is how convenient the location is. You have:
- a field next door in which you can walk your dog (on a lead as there are geese grazing).
- A great cafe with cakes and excellent breakfasts is less than a 10 min walk away.
- Town is a 10 min drive or 35 mins by bus
- You're outside of the city so have easy access to the countryside and the coast is just over an hour away.
- There is a large supermarket, restaurants and a retail park 5 mins drive away.
A great place to base yourself to explore York and the surrounding areas for just a couple of days or longer. The owners are also very friendly and helpful.
Very much recommended - we will be returning.
G. S.Had a lovely start to the New Year staying in Cow Kennels. Modern, spotlessly clean property with everything you need for a home from home stay.
Accommodation was warm and cosy and finished to a high standard. Peaceful location and only 10 minutes drive from York and 5 minutes drive to the supermarket.
Enclosed garden area for the dog.

This was the best cottage we have ever in !
Just out side of York near to park and ride facilities and a retail park.
We stayed for a family wedding so didn’t really get the chance to explore the area
but that gives us the perfect excuse to return to do so !
I would thoroughly recommend A Brecks Away and thank our hosts Guy and Tracey for a fabulous weekend!
