Simply the best.
A solid beginners program that gets everyone up to speed with the rest
Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable coaches with concept based learning to help understand not just individual techniques but why we do them and how to apply this to other areas
daily classes day and night
a great team environment which is nurtured from the top down to help eachother improve and train in an effective and safe way
a fantastic main competition team
caters to hobbyists and hardcore alike
the guys and girls here are just great people who you enjoy being around from white to black belt.
i could go on but you are really better off just trying a class or beginners block yourself and coming to your own conclusion like i did. you wont regret it!

First rate club. Coaches are well versed in BJJ and the skill of transmitting the art to students.
Great friendly environment, ideal for beginners.
If you have have ever wanted to try grappling/BJJ then you should definitely try SBG Aberdeen.

Fantastic club with great coaching and training partners. For anyone looking to start BJJ I can’t recommend the beginners block enough. It gives you a great introduction to BJJ with the option of joining the club at the end. When you join there are classes every day which makes it great for fitting around your schedule. I highly recommend it for beginners and those experienced in BJJ.

Couldn't recommend the place enough.
Great atmosphere, a range of experiance on the mats and a variety of grappling classes available everyday, with dedicated high level coaching.
If you're thinking of giving the sport a go, look out for their beginners blocks. You'll learn some valuable skills and gain an understanding of some core positions and mechanics in jiu jitsu giving you a good foundation to continue your training from.

I did the beginner course starting mid September 2021 and it was a perfect start to get into BJJ, highly recommend it for anyone wanting to start! Very friendly group of people that train here too.

Started training last year at SBG Aberdeen as a complete beginner to BJJ. Fundamental classes allowed me to gain a basic understanding of the core movements at my own pace. Very welcoming atmosphere with excellent coaching and supportive training partners. Training at SBG Aberdeen is fun, challenging and set up well. Highly recommended.

I don't know what kind of evil magick they've put into this gym, but I'm obsessed with it.
I started freebasing some introductory classes and my eyes were opened. I just recently started going to more advanced ones and my pants exploded. However, wouldn't recommend starting it if you value your social life as THIS place is so good you will keep coming here every night, even Friday nights. Thereunto, tunes here are better than in 99% of two Aberdonian clubs.

Very friendly environment with varied levels of experience. Very high level of instructors and a brilliant atmosphere to train in!

Great gym to train at. The atmosphere is very friendly, everyone leaves their ego at the door before they train. All of the coaches are excellent, very patient and approachable. Highly recommend SBG Aberdeen to anyone interested in jiu jitsu.

I have trained in most BJJ gyms in Aberdeen and can tell you with 100% certainty SBG is by far the best quality of training in the area. The classes are very well structured and very technically proficient. Coach Ross has a knack for teaching in a way that really helps you retain knowledge. Whether you're in Aberdeen for a short time or considering switching gyms SBG is the place to be.

Great classes to suit every level.
I started with fundamental classes on Thursdays because its was no Gi, I just turned up in a t-shirt and shorts to get started.
The coaches are brilliant at breaking information down so it's easy to understand core concepts and I really enjoyed my experience from the first night.
The coaches and members are all very welcoming adapting the intensity of training to suit each individual so less experienced people like myself are never overwhelmed and get the support needed for learning.
Because of the way SBG teach and train in a safe and friendly environment it was only a few sessions before I had fundamental movements I could use in other sessions so I began attending more of the classes and progress each session on my BJJ

SBG Aberdeen has a friendly and down to earth atmosphere with highly knowledgable, and supportive coaches. You can progress at your own pace with no pressure to jump straight into rolling before you feel you are ready. The fundamentals classes are great for beginners to get to grips with basic movements, positions and principles of BJJ, and I would highly recommend anyone considering it to come along and give it a try.

I started training at SBG recently and absolutely love it. The vibe is very relaxed whilst being extremely informative. Excellent training partners who are always willing to help out and the coaches are top notch. I would highly recommend SBG Aberdeen to complete beginners or experienced BJJ practitioners.

I was in Aberdeen for a month and trained here as much as I could. SBG Aberdeen is a great club and Ross does a great class, well structured and explains techniques very well. Michael teaches wrestling technique now and again which is also very enjoyable.
All the Purple and Brown belts I rolled with had superior skills to me and I didn’t have any easy rolls with fellow Blue belts.
Everyone is made to feel welcome here, really good bunch of guys! The prices are very reasonable, the impression I get is that the club is run out of their passion for Jiu Jitsu as opposed to being run as a business.

Started here as an out of shape 40 y.o last year, and can't recommend it highly enough - it's changed my life. Brilliant coaching and a wealth of knowledge throughout the team. Super friendly, laid back and supportive atmosphere, great value - train 7 days/week for £60/month! If you're thinking about getting into BJJ, this is the place.

I returned to SBG Aberdeen after a few years away and it’s great to see familiar, friendly faces still there.
What great people to train with. They truly make the club what it is.
The more I go, the happier I am to be there. It’s such a positive environment to be in.
Ross and everyone are very welcoming, more than happy to help you, they’re very patient and knowledgeable.
If you are looking to start or move club I can’t recommend SBG Aberdeen enough!

Hi I try Brazilian jiu-jitsu so many times in many gyms even in back home Portugal I'm a little bit lacking in English, am a foreigner and when I try this. Brazilian jiu-jitsu school I fill so good and joy because all the people are so friendly I don't have words to describe, Ross the professor is so nice guy he's got everything to teach , a very skilled man in terms of jiu-jitsu. Very humble and kind .i got big memory issues and he teach. So well I would say it's very very very recommend it's the right place in all Aberdeen shire to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I. Really easy place to learn. Coach is so patient with going over technique and everyone is very helpful and friendly. You can roll at your own pace here as well unlike other gyms. I highly recommend anyone thinking of stopping by to go for it.

Ross and the team at SBG Aberdeen are a great bunch of guys who travel all over the world to garner the very latest in BJJ developments. They also frequently bring in top BJJ players to Aberdeen for seminars and training. I thoroughly recommend them for beginners and advanced players alike.

I've trained in many gyms over the years but this is the place I consider my jits home and it's where I have done most of my learning. The gym is a team and everyone works together to bring everyone on. As a consequence of this the development of new starts and competent players is well supported.

I have trained at a few BJJ clubs but SBG Aberdeen ticks all the boxes for what makes a great place to train. The coaches are knowledgable, friendly and welcoming, as are the guys and girls that train there.

Best I have found in Aberdeen. Great people, with big experience and little ego. So, perfect opportunity to pick up this knowledge and make yourself a better person. Variety of classes, so you are not forced to roll if you don’t know how to do it . Coaches can really well explain what they teach in words, not only to show. Highly recommend this place!

The knowledge and skill level are so good.

You'll learn no matter your level and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun. All the coaches are great and break things down to the fundamentals of BJJ, so that anything you're learning can be applied to suit your game/skills.

Great place to train. Since I started a few years ago I've made good friends and improved as a person. The coaches all have amazing knowledge and break everything down very well. Everyone who trains here improves every week.

Everyone is really friendly and helpful. As a complete novice I would never have continued if the atmosphere wasn't as friendly and welcoming as it is. A great place to learn and train. I highly recommend SBG Aberdeen.
