F. B.I was a pupil at your school from 1941 to 1947 (I was actually the Head Girl in 1947). My sisters (Enid Guerin and Maureen Guerin) were also pupils at your school during WWII. The Head Mistress was Miss Mason during those years, but she had a dog (named Pooh) & in the Summer we would sit outside on the grass & she would read us stories from the Winnie the Pooh books. Our other teachers were Miss Collins and my eldest sister, Maureen, wrote some lovely poems and Miss Collins kept them, much to the disgust of my Mother who wanted them back, but Miss Collins insisted on keeping them. The last teacher I had, before moving to the Senior School across the playground, was Miss Garner. To punish us, when we did something wrong, she would hit us across our arms with a wooden ruler and, boy, did it hurt. I now live in New Zealand, but will always remember my happy years at your school which, back then, was called Kempston Primary School.
Regards from me who was Marion Ellen Guerin but my married surname is Bolli. Felix Bolli is my husband and we used to live in Bedford before we came to NZ in 1966.
