C. B.Highly recommend Ace motorcycle training. It was really simple to book on to my CBT, plenty of available dates and decent bikes to use. Everyone was really friendly and keen to help. Shane was my instructor for the day. I enjoyed his teaching style. He is an intuitive and creative teacher who is able to tailor his lessons to suit individual students and get the best out of them. He also gave praise and feedback in necessary places as well as making us laugh and not take our mistakes too seriously. Had a great day, thanks very much!

Customer reception even just to book in was great, dates were available far more quickly and conveniently than other places in Bristol, and they didn’t waste time trying to get me to buy a massive package of days that wasn’t required.
When arriving, everyone is very friendly and the atmosphere between instructors is calm and funny. When teaching, they were all completely relaxed yet very professional and always helpful - genuinely enjoyed just riding and having a laugh with them.
Big thanks to Guy and Chris who trained me for the Mod1&2, then to Pete and Martin for taking me down to the test centre - it was great fun to work with you all: I’ll definitely be returning at 21 for the full licence.
k.Both me and my partner did our CBT here yesterday and from booking it, all the way to the very end the team was amazing! The receptionist was super friendly and helped me book us both in at once, and our instructor Shane was amazing! He made us both feel super confident on the bikes whilst have banter and making us feel calm and relaxed but also making sure we are being safe and giving us clear instructions whilst being on the road! Definitely couldn’t have wanted anything better from ace training!

N. P.Well, this was a pretty epic experience! CBT on a geared bike (I was extremely anxious about geared bikes before - been a moped rider for years). The instructor, Shane with his "definitely very wild West" cowboy hat explained everything really well and gave us the time we needed to practice skills until we felt comfortable. The riding experience didn't just feel like an exam, it was actually very enjoyable! I'll be back...

m. m.Shane was my instructor on the day. Very clear explanation on what to do and how to get the most out of my riding. What I liked a lot was the time effectiveness from learning the basics to actual riding. Other CBT’s took hours until you get on the bike. Whilst on the move Shane was giving clear instructions, basically a lot of it simulation for your Mod 1 and 2.

I did my CBT twice with 2 other schools as I renewed it after my first 2 years. After my second CBT, I decided to change school to find a better training team and the first one closed and found the perfect school with Ace.
Kelly is an amazing office manager
and managed to get me booked in for Mod 1 respectively quickly for mod1 considering the covid back log. Mod 2 then was just as quick. I had too postpone mod2 due to injury at shirt notice and not only she was kind and reassuring, but sorted me with a new date straight away will she was on leave.
Neil was a great guy for Mod1 training and made the day good fun and passed mod1 with no faults.
Pete was for Mod2 training and had great tips that led me to pass the test with not a single fault. He is probably the most patients man I've met as the other guy practicing kept getting lost and not following basic instructions. He managed to keep the other student safe, while not waisting my time not practicing instead of looking for him.
Lastly, Martin was great this morning, as asked me if I wanted a safe ride to the test center or a mini mock test. Thank you for taking the time to do this as we did some of the route on the test 20mins later and it greatly calmed me down.
School is just off the ring road so well located as near the area where the test is.
The other guys seems to be all as friendly and professional and you will get your license if doing it with them. Thank you to Ace and I'll be back for advanced riding lessons in a year or two.
l. W.My friends all got their licences so I thought I’d better have a go. I did my cbt with Shane and to my surprise really enjoyed it, So much so Shane just did my mod 1. All the guys and gals at Ace seem sound, a good laugh but also able to switch the “professional instructor” switch on when needed. Cheers

R.I have just passed my MOD 1 test with no faults and hitting an impressive 68kph on the emergency stop exercise, this would not have been possible without the help of ACE Motorcycle Training – My first impressions of ACE Motorcycle training was organised chaos however don’t be fooled the staff and instructors are 100% professional and no their stuff. Big thanks to Peter who trained me how to do a U-turn with power, speed and conviction also a big thanks to Martin for the breathing exercise just before the test (This is a top tip guys/girls – this helps loads with the nerves)
The government has made it hard to get a full bike licence however If you want a pass then use these guys and smash it out of the park – I’m booked in for my MOD 2 in August and I cant wait to “Bingo Like A BOSS”
Update – just done my mod two and passed with one fault, this could not have been possible without the help of Guy at ACE training. Guy is a legend and totally brilliant. massive thanks to Kelly, Martin, Pete, Guy and all the rest of the team. “Totally Brilliant”

D. D.Did a day here a few weeks ago to get familiar on a geared bike as i had passed my CBT previously a few months before on a Moped. Everyone at the center was great especially Shane who has a great method of teaching and brilliant sense of humor!
C. G.I have done my last 4 CBT's here, and they have always been brilliant and help you in every area in order to get you through the course - even checking the air in my tyres.
My instructor was Shane and he was amazing, very down to earth & humorous with it.
He helped me get a rid of some bad habits I've picked up since the last CBT and overall I felt confident he knew all the answers to my questions as well as helping with areas of the law that had been updated in the last few years.
B. T.Took my CBT course with Shane. Absolutely cannot complain, he gave loads of extra advice on different tests and things. Very affable and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and confident.
C.I had a further day’s training on the 8th July. This time, I had Shane as my instructor. He was fantastic and taught in a slightly different way which helped with some of the things that I had found difficult on the first day.
He was really good at helping me to get over my fear of going faster than 19 miles an hour on the road! I agree with him that you are a hazard if you are driving too slowly on the road and can’t accelerate away quickly enough. I learned several tips that have improved my driving and road safety awareness. The trainers are all knowledgeable, professional and also able to make the training fun. Thank you to Shane who organized for ice lollies on what was a very hot day.
The ACE motorcycle training team are brilliant. Special thanks to the team on the the 8th July - Shane, Adrian & Les on the course and Pete & Martin in the office.
I would definitely come back to Ace for further training in the future and would definitely recommend Ace to a friend.

D. S.Excellent company! 2 days of training then passed my Mod 1 first attempt, 2 more days then passed my Mod 2 first attempt, I now have my full unrestricted licence and all in just 9 days. I had some previous experience on a 125 but hadn't ridden in almost a decade.
The majority of my training was done by an instructor called Martin who had an excellent training style, very supportive, positive and confidence building. All the other instructors I met with were also very friendly and knowledgeable.

A very Extremely enjoyable experience, im glad I have chosen this motorcycle training centre to assist me on my journey to a full licence. Shane is a very experienced trainer and rider, couldn’t fault his ability to notice everything and offer pointers where to improve and be mindful of. The relaxed nature and calmness is exactly what is needed to put riders at ease and he went above and beyond that. Everyone was very friendly and the vibe was just have fun and make it enjoyable. I. H.I passed my CBT first time a few weeks ago with Shane. I was nervous to start with as I’ve never been on a bike before but Shane was very professional and made the whole experience fun! I would highly recommend ACE, especially if you can get in with Shane. Great fun and I learnt so much! Ready to get on the roads when I purchase my first bike.
W. T.Just got my full license with ACE. They were fantastic. I had a number of different instructors for each of the stages and they all had various tips and styles to make us more comfortable/prepared, which was so helpful. They have a bunch of CBF 600's, which were really nice to learn on. Some places get you doing the direct access course in 1 week but ACE do things a bit more spaced out which I found really helped learning and allows space to retake a test! They've also got a few things for sale to get you set up.
B. W.Completed my CBT, ably instructed by Vegan Chris. The Honda 125 was as you would expect. The training/ assessment route was suitably diverse and you get to trial yourself in a range of traffic conditions. Good training, a good cup of tea and a good laugh. Recommended.

E. W.Absolutely brilliant experience. Having never ridden a bike I was well outside my comfort zone; but my cycling and car driving experience was transferable and I've now passed my CBT! I was made to feel at ease and safe throughout the entire course. Big props to all of the staff and especially the instructor, Den. His pacing was beautiful chunked into short segments so I didn't feel too overwhelmed trying to pack it all in (explain / demonstrate; try / practice the new skill; review and recover with a few laughs). Thanks for a fab day! You've given me the skills and the confidence to ride!
S. G.Just passed my CBT with Ace yesterday. Had a fantastic (but intense) day and received excellent training from both Pete and Martin who were in charge of our group. Good laughs were had and everybody got on great which was a bonus and believe me when I say that they will literally do everything they can (with their god-tier levels of patience) to make sure that you pass and walk away at the end of the day with your license in hand. Be warned though that they won't pass you unless they're certain that you are competent on the road, so it's definitely not a walk in the park, but as long as you listen and concentrate then you'll be fine.
I can fully see why every single review here is five stars. If you're gonna do your CBT or license then definitely do it here.

J. H.Twiggy , Martin , Kelly , Pete , the Boss (Neil ) & Sue , the whole team are a fantastic bunch of people with a great sense of humour & down to earth. They really sharp identifying people’s skill levels & focusing on the issues that need attention. With very little motorcycle experience they got me & my brother through a very difficult covid year to both get our “A” category license ( chuffed to bits ) on the same day .
They have a fantastic ( high ) pass rate which Instilled great confidence from the get go !

Having not ridden a motorcycle for 25 years and being a bit nervous about the weight of my new bike,
Martin took me through everything from the basics onwards. He listened to my specific concerns and worked with me to overcome them.
The training has made me a much more confident and safer rider.
If you are a born again biker thinking about refresher training my advice is to absolutely do it. You won't regret it.
It might be a bit cliché, but it could be the best money you've ever spent.

V. T.Having never ridden a motorbike before (except pillion) I wasn't sure how I'd adapt to actually driving one. Despite being a cyclist, I really didn't know how I would be able to ride a motorbike with both feet off the floor, given its weight. I needn't have worried. The first part of the day was spent getting to know the bike and it's functions, gradually progressing from walking with it to learning controlled riding using clutch and break (a really useful skill to have) to then learning how to change gear and being able to ride round cones and do u-turns. In the afternoon we were out on the open roads - slightly daunting but my instructor was brilliant, providing a running commentary, tips for improvement and praise when I did something well! Towards the end, he took us out through some beautiful local countryside and minimised the commentary so we could enjoy the ride. It was brilliant! I enjoyed myself so much that I have vowed to buy a bike and prepare for the Direct Access course - the next step, which allows me to ride over a 125cc engine and remove those L plates! I can highly recommend ACE Motorcycles - they are as their name suggests.

M. P.Great bunch. Great learning techniques. Gave clear and sucinct instructions. The bikes (125 and 50cc) are quite old now, but well maintained and easy to learn on. Will be using ACE for my Direct Access scheme when I decide to progress.

A. H.I went to ACE as a mature lady student and a complete novice rider. Even though I really wanted to pass my bike test i was very apprehensive. Right from the very first day that i attended Ace I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. I took my CBT course with Pete. He is a really approachable guy that likes a bit of banter.This helped to reduce my nerves. He gave excellent clear instructions . I could not believe how quickly I was riding the bike and doing u turns.He filled me with confidence and was very knowledgeable. He has so much experience and he is an excellent instructor. I took my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with Martin.He also is an excellent instructor. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge with the patience of a saint. He always went the extra mile for me. He made sure I felt comfortable and confident. He always gave me encouragement to make sure I could achieve what I needed to.He had the ability to boost my confidence on my test days and got me into the correct mind set. K. N.I have used Ace for the last 5Yrs to go from never having ridden a bike to completing my full license and the level of training you get from their instructors is second to none. I have tried other training schools throughout the Covid pandemic due to availability but they lack the quality and character you get from Ace. They are also full of good tips on how to not just pass your test but also how to be safe on the roads. When I passed my Mod 2 the examiner at the test centre said...well, it’s a perfect pass from a top instructor...I don’t think I have to add anything more.

A. B.I went from never riding a motorbike to having a full licence in 5 days with ACE! Passed in November 2019 but only just got around to writing this review. I had the pleasure of Simon for my CBT, and Guy for my Mod 1 and Mod 2; both of them were awesome. They were very patient and understanding, and we had a good laugh at the same time. Martin and Matt helped me pick the right gear afterwards and ordered it for me through ACE so it was all hassle free. Managed to source a bike, CBF600SA, through them as well which has been perfect for starting out. An indicator relay died shortly after and Kelly helped me get it sorted and paid for the cost which was brilliant. Since then nothing has gone wrong with it. Don't hesitate to book with ACE; great instructors and helpful people!

As I was purchasing a new electric moped, I did my training with Ace as they had an electric bike that I could use to do my CBT. Having ridden a geared 125 in the past I’m glad I got to practice with the electric bike as it is different in operation. It is very easy to control once you get going and is virtually silent when riding, so all the tips about making yourself visible are good to take on board.
I would definitely recommend Ace to anyone looking to get their CBT or full license.
G. S.It was 32 years ago when I rode my last bike, hence I enrolled with ACE and Kelly was very helpful in explaining the courses and how to spread the bills over the training packages. I did the CBT course and then both modules. The instructors are excellent, friendly and full of advice. They build your confidence with tips for improvements and can help explain observations in many friendly ways. I did the courses with some non English speaking students sometimes, which tested their patience, speaking skills but also their training skills. They all passed and benefited from their friendly approach. If you wanted a confident and helpful team to train you, and make you more bike aware with the other road users, I highly recommend ACE. You are very prepared for the tests with lots of hands on training and real time feedback on the radios. I was very pleased with the value for money and the super training staff. A great rewarding experience.

Brilliant! I followed Martin with him giving me instructions and reminders in my earpiece and then he followed me, giving me some new riding tips and instilling me with confidence again.

I am a nervous rider and each instructor has such a calm attitude, along with a sense of humour, so I felt very relaxed once on the bike. They are always happy to explain things plainly and without feeling that you have asked a stupid question and they have given me not only the skills to pass my test but skills to keep me safe in my riding life for the future. I will forever remember ‘only a fool breaks the two second rule’ and singing ‘Let it Go’ to get round my figure of eight!
I highly recommend taking the four day course for the A license. I went from my regular 125cc automatic to a 650cc geared bike and passed first time. I even had a panic attack on the morning of the first test and the guys got me going without me feeling pressured or unsafe.
There is always a big mix of riders learning, male and female and of all ages. My first CBT was a women-only day which they can arrange if you prefer. Kelly who looks after the bookings and the many, many questions is brilliant and very patient. They also have kit to buy to get you started without breaking your wallet - they are passionate about getting people riding!
A great team who look after each other and will look after you.
W.After reading several reviews, I chose ACE Motorcycle Training to book up my own CBT. If anything, ACE excelled my expectations and I passed within the day, feeling pretty confident and absolutely chuffed to bits, had a great and enjoyable day with the instructors and fellow students.
Without much thought, I returned to ACE to undertake my A2 training and subsequent tests, the training days were massively enjoyable, even if I had failed I'd still walk away happy. My module 1 and module 2 where passed and I was left once again, chuffed to bits. I've since recommended ACE to friends, two of which have gone onto take CBTs, both of which have passed.
The training you receive might be fast paced, and every student will pick up the information and also the confidence to actually carry out manoeuvres at different rates. ACE and its instructors are able to fit that time scale for most students, into no more than a working day which I found pretty impressive. I went from a 125cc L Plate rider, nervous to go much higher than 40 mph, to rocketing at 70 mph down duel carriage ways, in a day.
Incredible friendly, competent and superb staff. Highly recommended. I'll be back in 2 years for my A test!

S.Done my CBT all the way up to my full A with them over the years. The instructors will always make sure you're confident and ready for each test, no matter how long it takes. Some other schools will have newer, flashier bikes but for a learner, their fleet was fine and the instructors will make sure you enjoy your training too as it can be a long day!

Done my second CBT today, didn’t pass, but had an amazing experience, I can see my own massive improvement and where I need to practice.
If you are an absolute beginner they will take you aside and try to support you 1-to-1 and always push you to your limit of your comfort zone, which is key in learning.
Booked in for my 3rd (hopefully final) CBT and couldn’t be happier with the work they put into their jobs/ hobbies.
I would recommend everyone I know to go with Ace motorcycls!
C. C.I signed in for Mod1 and Mod2 training in ACE with minimal experience (CBT done week earlier in another training center, so I have comparison).
I had no motorcycle gear whatsoever (everything was provided by training center). During my training it was hard for me, I accidentally dropped motorbike, staggered and made countless mistakes - as I'm simply far from being talented rider :)))
But regardless of that - thanks to great work done by Instructors - I was able to PASS BOTH TESTS ON FIRST TRY!
Training center facilities are OK, good enough for their purpose, training yard as well, and some of the Mod1 elements click in to place after using them on the road.
Hope this will help people to make decision.

Kelly at the office does a superb job, I've always got a very timely reply to my emails/questions and contact was overall very very friendly and professional.
This applies unconditionally to the instructor I did my training with as to all the instructors I've met and talked to during "my stay".
Had quite a few laughs in a generally relaxed atmosphere without losing focus on the task ahead.
I got some very useful advice for the exams themselves (singing while doing the tricky bits of Mod1 was the best advice ever) and loads of advice for the time after passing the last exam.
Without knowing how other schools do it... I can absolutely recommend Ace and would send every future biker to train with them.
B. E.These are top notch guys. Good banter which keeps the days fun and they really know what they are doing. By the time it came to do my mod2 full test I was completely confident that I knew everything the examiner was looking for, all the roads and all the little things people trip up on. I passed first time ( passed first time on CBT and mod1 as well). They have the brilliant skill of being able to correct your riding constantly while keeping everything fun and positive.

M.Fantastic Experience! As a total novice to both bikes, cars and any type of vehicle on a public road, my first experience with Ace has been brilliant. I went along for CBT course and was taught by Den, through his guidance, I very quickly went from someone who had never even sat on a motorbike to successfully controlling and driving around on one in a closed car park within the space of a few hours. I have to say that Den was very patient with me, and whilst he made sure he told me what i was doing wrong at any one point in time ( for my own safety sake!) he also was extremely approachable and an excellent teacher. To my surprise i was competent enough to then make it out onto the roads, which was a very challenging experience all to do with my nerves getting the better of me, but i have to commend Den for keeping the learner riders safe on the road and making sure we learned and got to grips with it. I admittedly struggled on the roads due to my nerves however, am ready to return for a quick road ride after reading up on my highway code and rules etc so that I can complete and acquire my CBT certificate. Overall, excellent team, i cannot recommend them enough.

He is very good at explaining things and gave us a great understanding of what we needed to do to pass the test, but also how to ride safely, it wasn't just about the test.
N. C.I’d Just like to thank you for all your help and advice from my first call to book my CBT through to your help afterwards. I’m a complete new learner and at the young age of 45? I was made to to feel relaxed and safe from the first moment I turned up at your Wells training site. Dan the instructor was very relaxed and positive and gave great advice through out the days coarse and training.
We had a mixed group of three of us myself doing my CBT for the first time and first time riding a geared motor bike, a young guy taking his CBT again as it had expired and a sixteen girl doing her 50cc moped CBT and the instructor was very attentive to all of us with equal amounts of one to one advice. I will add we didn’t all go out together only two at a time and we all had at least two hours out riding on the roads around Wells in Somerset.
Hopefully I’ll be back soon to take my next module to progress on to a biker bike, once a again great training and people throughly recommended anyone using Ace for their motor bike training.
M. S.Took my CBT yesterday with ACE and the whole day was a lot of fun! Started with a talk about what to wear etc, then we headed to a car park for some maintenance info, cones work and our first go on the bikes. I had no experience riding a moped on my own but quickly felt more confident. It is broken up into really simple steps with memoroable and humorous ways of getting out of the mistakes I kept making! Then we went back to the centre for lunch and had a theory chat before hitting the road for 2 hours with the instructor. It was definitely challenging but I did pass - all 4 of us did! Even if I hadn't, it was a really fun day either way and gave me a good bit of experience! I've ridden my moped a couple of times since then and already feel really confident! Would highly recommend!

c. v.I have just completed my CBT with ACE Motorcycle training and would recommend them. They offer a very well organised course and the instructors are friendly and supportive whilst at the same time being very professional in the training given. The morning part of the course included safety aspects, basic motorcycle checks and riding around an off road area in order to familiarise ourselves with the controls on the bike. In the afternoon we were taken out onto the road. At no point did I feel forced beyond my capabilities and at the end of the day was given my CBT certificate. I shall definitely go back to ACE for the rest of my training.
j. c.Final Update: Got my full motorbike license June 2017 - passed at 2nd attempt. Should have been first time round except for some loose clutch control first time. I reckon I had time with all of ACE's trainers at some point and all were top notch - getting the right balance between teaching for test and teaching for safe confident riding after test. Big thanks to Kelly too for arranging training and test days that best suited me. Final recommendation from me - great people and great service, if you wanna learn to ride a motorbike look no further than ACE.
Update May 2017: Now passed my Mod1 first time after a day each with Martin & Phil. Once again I have no hesitation in recommending ACE and their team if you want to get into motorcycling. Patient and professional and they work hard to give you the confidence you need to develop your motorcycling skills. Mod2 booked for a few weeks time....
February 2017 - Just completed CBT with ACE and trainer Den. Only previous bike experience was on a 'twist and go' moped 15 years previously. After a day with Den I ended the day looking forward to going for my full license with ACE. Den's sense of humour, relaxed attitude and constant encouragement helped overcome initial nerves to finish the day on a high.
The team couldn't have been more helpful throughout the day going so far as dropping a fellow CBT'er home after her bike developed problems late in the afternoon. In summary, a great day learning to ride a bike despite the cold and intermittent snow!

a. h.I would highly recommend Ace Motorcycle if you are looking to get any motorcycle licence. From CBT to a full licence. I recently completed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with them and they were excellent.
I called through a few training schools before deciding on Ace. I decided to go with Ace over the rest as 1. Their fees were better and 2. Kelly had a very welcoming approach. She was very informative and generally sold their service in a positive way. I have no issue in paying extra if it means the experience is better, but the fact that kelly was great at the start sold it for me. The fact that the fees were lower than the rest was a bonus!
Ace have a great teaching approach and they don't just tell you what to do but they explain why and trust me this helps when you are on the road!
All members of the tean are friendly and the banter between them and the students gives a relaxed atmosphere. If you listen to them and take on board their advice then you can't go wrong!

J.Seriously happy with these guys. Despite failing my mod 2 the first time (due to the fact that I'm an idiot and ignore speed limits) I had absolutely no qualms about going back to them for my re test. Every instructor I had (and I went out with five different people over the full course of my training!) was genuinely friendly and I felt immediately welcomed by them. It was really reassuring to be learning with people who obviously have such good knowledge of how to get you through your test but could also put it across to you in such a positive and friendly way, with the odd bit of friendly banter and gentle hazing thrown in for good measure. If you are in any doubt about whether to use these guys all I can say is that I would happily have a few pints with any one of them and that between them they somehow managed te get me to pass my mod 2 with no faults(much to everyone's surprise). If you want to get on with your two wheeled life and are anywhere near these guys then I really advise them. Happy riding!
A. W.Completed the CBT course with Ace, and the course was Ace. The instructors are friendly yet professional with technical aspects of riding a bike covered. We had plenty of time in the large carpark and lots of time out on different road types. Different people's abilites were catered for and I have booked my Direct Access Full licence with them.

P. W.Really good school, these guys know what they're talking about when it comes to riding. I did a few days worth of mod 1 and mod 2 training with them (along with actual tests at DSA) and each day with a different instructor.
They're also nice blokes and one of them even helped me figure out what was wrong with the clutch on my 125 cc.

J. D.I suffer from extreme social anxiety and was at ease all day during my CBT. The staff are very easy to get along with and very fair. Staff took the time to give everyone individual attention and instruction when needed. Looking forward to using them again in future.
