I have just completed "The 3 countries advanced training course". If you think you can ride think again! What Andy and his team teach you on this course is invaluable. It will make you a safer and a better rider. The teaching style is informative and hands on yet delivered in a non threatening manner, making you feel at ease from the beginning. It is a well organised trip with all levels of riders catered for. I cannot stress enough how important this kind of training is for every motorcyclist.

Had a fantastic experience with Andy and his exceptional team. In 6 days I managed to travel through 3 countries and ride with some of the best trained instructors that you can meet. Achieved my ERS, RoSPA and IAM qualifications and even won a special 'post course award'........an amazing experience that provided me access to riders who have decades of riding expertise and insight and can share and transfer that to the student in a matter of hours - I would encourage anyone who loves riding to do this course as it will only make you better and will enhance your riding for the rest of your riding days......looking forward to going back and doing it all over again.....

1st class - What an experience. If you want to learn to ride then look no further than this School. I've learnt so much in my time training with Andy and the guys from doing my CBT to my MOD 2. Andy is a great educator with a wealth of knowledge and skills under his belt. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend Andy and his team. I've just completed the 3 Countries advanced course in Scotland, and I'm heading home with passes for IAM and RoSPA under my belt.
This course will teach you to be a better rider, with six weeks of police standard tuition rolled down into just a few days. You'll be amazed at how much you were doing wrong before!
The course and routes are all flawlessly researched and delivered, with focus on what you're doing wrong, and more importantly, what you need to do it right. Your mistakes - and you'll make them! - are talked through with you, and the instructors will work you time and time again until you've got it right.
This is not a course on how to ride fast: it's a course on how to ride safely, smoothly and systematically, and speed just happens when you know what you're doing!

The Three Countries Advanced Rider Course will save lives. Maybe your own, maybe someone else’s. Because you’ll come back a much better rider. I just did and so did every other rider on the course, even those who were excellent to start with. If you’re serious about riding well, safely and progressively then this is probably the best course in Europe. It also helps if you enjoy high-end banter with Andy and his superb team of instructors, whose willingness to engage with us all both on and off the bikes makes them legends, one and all.

Fantastic day of CBT with Andy Smith. Learnt so much from the clear and well thought out course. Ann and I were nervous about the road driving but Andy got us through it with his calm instructions. Would recommend 1st class rider training very highly.

Andy is a great down to earth instructor.
He doesn't just teach you to pass a test he teaches you how to ride, some of the things he taught me I will never forget.
He will happily tell you if your doing somthing wrong and tell you what to do to correct it.
More importantly he will teach you how become a better rider and not make the same mistakes in the future.
I highly recomend any new or old rider to give his course a go the expiriance he has and the fountain of knowledge is incredibly valuable.

Excellent, no nonsense training from a fantastic instructor, Andy Smith. They have a lowered bike which was perfect for me being 5'2" and being nervous of the bigger bikes, Andy's practical approach to training was exactly what I needed. Would highly recommend this training school to all 😃

Me and my partner did the CBT with Andy last weekend and it was fantastic. Andy is an exceptional tutor and he made us both feel really confident and at ease with each step through all the way to the 2 hours on the road. I can't recommend 1st Class Rider Training enough to any beginners and will certainly be back to progress through the licenses. 1st Class training and Andy is a 1st class bloke, and now we are 1st Class Riders!

A month ago I was in the middle of Andy's 3 Countries Advanced Rider Course. I got to ride fantastic roads all day long for a week, with direct observation by an Advanced Riding instructor for 50% of the time (which is plenty!). I spent breaks and dinners with a fantastic group of motorcycle enthusiasts many of whom I'll stay in touch with after the course. I came out IAM and RoSPA certified, having massively improved my cornering, positioning, road speed choice and therefore safety, but most importantly I've begun to learn to think on behalf of other road users. This will be one to hone continuously, but the observation skills taught in Andy's course allow me to see hazards and potential hazards before they become an issue. It's invaluable. I'll do the course again in the near future and bring my partner. Do it if you can. You'll most likely ride faster and live longer for it!

I attended the advanced course to improve my knowledge and gain a new level of skill, I live in London and having the ability of tackling traffic as well as open roads was a must for me. Upon reflection I would happily have paid double as the quality of the instruction, the ability to ride in Wales, Scotland and England coupled with an informative class room session meant learning was both fun and rewarding. I went alone and came away with a dozen friends from all over the country... What was meant to be a course felt like a holiday. If you are thinking of improving your skills then look no further!

Thank you, Andy and the instructors. I have just and come back from one of the best weeks of my life, after completing this course. What an eye opener, the course will challenge anyone, will test your knowledge, and regardless of your riding abilities, you will learn a huge amount. It must be said, as challenging as the course is, it is also seriously fun.
This course will leave you grinning from ear to ear every day and give you a hint of sadness on going home day. Andy choice of accommodation for our week was fantastic and the course running so smoothly shows a great deal of planning. I guess Andy plans his course the same way he and all instructors ride their bikes, with quiet efficiency, made to look seriously easy when in fact it isn’t always. Touching on how Andy and the instructor’s rides is just inspirational, listening to a live commentary from the instructor whilst riding is jaw dropping and must be experienced. If you want to ride to a good standard, be a safer rider and keep on learning, then this course is for you. If you have just passed your test, then this course if for you. Actually regardless of skill level this course is for you.
Again, Diolch yn Fawr et a bientot

Andy is a brilliant and helpful instructor, with loads of patients. He teaches you over and above what is needed to pass your test. Can't wait to go out on some arranged trips on my bike with Andy.
I would and will be recommending 1st class rider training to others. Well worth the money :-)

What an experience! Finished the 3 Country training course. Passing my advanced qualifications in the process.
Could not recommend these guys highly enough.
The training was brilliant and challenging. The knowledge of all the instructors are fantastic and they are always encouraging and want to see you improve. The communication and organisation was fantastic throughout and the roads that you get taken on are fantastic!!
I would do this again in a heart beat!!

Just saw the picture of my ugly mug on the web site. I cannot thank Andy Smith enough .He looked like death in a bike helmet today due to a really nasty stomach bug he has had for a few days .But still we left Cardiff at 7am and got up to the test centre on time . If you are looking for someone to train you properly and safely who has the respect of all the other instructors and more importantly the test inspectors ,then 1st class training is the one to go to. Thank you Andy……. Dai Hawthorne. (Motorcyclist)

Andy was a great instructor, knew when to be stern and when to be reassuring. Really easy to get along with, would definitely recommend to anyone else thinking of riding a motorbike

Just had a cheeky CBT from these guys and they were beyond good. I had little to no confidence and sucked in the training ground. Once andy gave me enough confidence to head out on the road, it was liking riding with a true pro, always in your ear with enough encouragement and criticism to help you on your way. A truly great guy and cannot wait to get on a 125 now! Thanks Andy!

Hi Andy,
I was out today with a friend on our bikes. Heading up to Brecon through Ebbw Vale. He had a pretty bad smash in front of me and just by pure luck he didn't end up under the wheels of the oncoming car (cm's in it). He was too close to the car in front on a bend and as they slammed their brakes on to avoid an oncoming car that was just over the white line that was passing a cyclist. He snatched the front brake and the bike went from under him. I was in the right Position, I had the right Speed, right Gear and was at a safe Distance. Thanks to yourself , Jeff and Kev I was able to avoid being involved in the incident. You could quadruple the cost of your training course because the knowledge and skills I have gained were invaluable today. So this is just a big thank you from me! Keep up the great work and everything you are doing.
Best wishes
Chris
