I was a bit nervous to start BJJ at 29 years old, but can honestly say it is now my favourite hobby! Ive trained other Marshal Arts in the past (Karate and kickboxing as a teenager for around 7-8 years) for me, Juijitsu is by far the most rewarding. Been training here regularly for roughly 3 months, classes are all brilliant. Dan is very detail orientated and will invest as much time as needed to ensure you fully understand each technique. The culture at the CRA Cardiff is very friendly and welcoming.

The class and coaches offer a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The techniques are always explained in a very clear manner step by step. I also appreciate that the coaches care about right execution of the movement; when trying the techniques, you get help and tips on how to perform better. The class offers time for pressure testing situations which definitely help you trying to implement the techniques previously learned.

As someone who was looking for a BJJ academy but initially reluctant to join due to not knowing what to expect, I was instantly made to feel welcomed by Coach Dan and put at ease by the friendly atmosphere of the academy. I started in the beginners course and also went to the intermediate classes. Although some of the techniques were complex, they were always broken down to a very basic level and as a complete beginner I found them to be very easy to follow. The techniques were also always explained as to why we do them and how they work. I highly recommend this BJJ academy to anyone.
