The Carlton Nursery is absolutely brilliant, with passionate staff and great management. The children’s best interest and development are always the highest priority to all staff. The changes that have been made recently have significantly improved the nursery with the introduction of ‘baby day’s’ software, which enables parents to have an insight into the children’s care from an app, other changes include the development of outdoor areas and improvement of indoor facilities ( IT room etc). The nursery also has a soft play which my daughter absolutely loves. I cannot recommended them enough you get flexibility which I haven’t seen at any other nursery (flexibility needed due to changing shift patterns) and an overall welcoming reception. My daughter has been attending nursery for over a year and what an amazing experience it has been for both of us... The staff are brilliant, they are always happy to adjust to your needs. With me being at university they have supported not only my daughter but myself by being very flexible. Everyone at Carlton nursery are happy to help in whatever they can. Staff have supported my daughter with her development, it is so nice to see what she has learnt each day. Also, all the amazing activities they do throughout the day and being able to see these through "Baby Days" (app that they use to log their daily key points). The Carlton nursery is an amazing place!!

I have been working at the Carlton for over a year now and I honestly haven’t felt happier. Working at the Carlton is the best decision I have ever made, the management have supported me through difficult times. All off the staff are lovely to work with and have a heart of gold. The owner of the nursery pops in everyday to check to see if we need anything, to see if all of the staff are ok and helps around the nursery. For me personal I think that is very professional and magnificent. I have received the correct training and support to develop my knowledge and understanding of childcare within my role as a Practitioner. As a staff member at the Carlton we make sure all our children are supported within their development and time at setting. We do many activities with the children to assist their needs within the framework. I love being creative with the children and making a mess! The Carlton Nursery is a great opportunity for your children to be as creative as they want and as messy! Thank you Carlton nursery for making me feel valued and enjoy my job every single day! I can’t wait for many more years working here :)

My son started at Carlton nursery 6 months ago and he has loved every minute of it. We visited a few nurseries but knew straight away this is the one we wanted to bring him to. Everyone is so friendly and helpful which made leaving him a lot easier. They have loads of different toys and rooms for them to play with, they also do a lot of activities each day to keep them entertained which my son really enjoys. We are so pleased we chose this nursery and would definitely recommend it.

My little boy started nursery over 6 months ago and he loves coming. The staff are very friendly, the nursery set up is lovely with plenty of toys and activities inside and outside. The staff keep me updated throughout the day via app called baby days on how my little boy is getting on, e.g photos, what time he goes to sleep, what he has to eat etc etc which is lovely see when you’re at work as it reassures me in in safe hands! I looked round a few nurseries before choosing the Carlton, but something just felt ‘right’ about bringing my little one here. I would highly recommend the Carlton Nursery to anyone thinking of taking their little one to nursery.

My son loves going to nursery here, there's a fantastic family atmosphere and he has progressed so much in the six months he's been there. He loves the variety of activities that they provide and the app to track what your child has done is great to put your mind at ease. I would highly recommend The Carlton Nursery to any parent

Our son has been attending The Carlton Nursery for 10 months now and I honestly don't know what we would do without them! The staff are amazing - so personable and actually get to know your child one on one. He started nursery a little earlier than I would have liked but due to work commitments, I had to take him in. I was really anxious about it but there was no need for me to be - it only took a few days to realise that he was in the best hands! He has come on so much since starting and does something different every day. He loves going to nursery and doesn't bat an eyelid when I leave or pick him up. The service that you get is amazing - I have heard such horror stories about nurseries and how inflexible they are, whereas The Carlton Nursery is so flexible and there to lend a hand even at short notice. The staff are brilliant - Jo, Emily and Amy make taking him in a lovely experience and I can't fault a thing! A decision I am 100% happy with!

Over the past year I have seen many improvements made to The Carlton Nursery including new outdoor play areas, decorated rooms and the new baby days app. The app allows the staff to keep parents updated daily with information and photograph updates, as a result, communication is now exceptional. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to support the children and liaise with parents to cater for individual needs. They make a great effort to support the children with their learning and development which is now all recorded and monitored within the app. The staff deliver a variety of exciting activities to make special events fun for the children including Easter, Halloween and Christmas games and activities. They serve a variety of good quality, healthy food which my children enjoy. The management are supportive and have been extremely flexible throughout my maternity leave and furlough and they allow us to fit the children in around my husbands shift work which is invaluable. The main reason why we appreciate The Carlton Nursery is because my children are happy there. Thank you very much 😁

My daughter has been going to the Carlton Nursery for about 15 months. I have to admit I was on the brink of moving her ... then I met Emily ... and then Jo. What a difference they have made! The staff are brilliant with both the children, and with me as a parent. They’re supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble. I don’t have to worry about being called out of work because they’re too short staffed or there’s something they can’t handle. She has a milk allergy that they’re prepared and equipped to support. This was very severe when she was younger and a real source of anxiety, so finding a nursery that I could trust was very important to me. The nursery itself has had a face lift. The staff are friendly and engaging. My daughter is always coming home with things she’s made or drawn; she literally runs in in a morning and reluctantly comes home in the evening! She has a real bond with a number of the staff, which gives me the confidence that she is getting the care and attention she needs. I honestly can’t recommend this nursery enough.

Our child attends this nursery and we are very happy. The staff take the time to really know your child and to help them develop during their time at nursery. Since the current manager started there have been loads of developments and improvements made to the nursery such as more outdoor play areas for all the children and an app called Baby Days which is used to log all key information such as food eaten, sleep times, toileting, observations, next steps and even termly reports. Our child is well looked after and is very fond of the staff at the nursery, she has grown in confidence and made lots of friends there. It’s a great nursery and good location, especially for students/staff of the University of Derby as it’s right next door and the nursery provides a parking permit so you can use the nursery car park. This is super convenient for me on my University days.

My son started the Carlton day nursery when he was 2, he is now 6! My youngest son has also been at this nursery since he was 5 months old, he’s now 4 and still in pre school. I cannot recommend this nursery enough! The staff are absolutely amazing, they have been so wonderful with both my children and their extra needs. They helped me get support for me and my children, and still continue to help support my son every day. He loves going!! The staff are understanding, reliable and professional but also very down to earth and love a good natter with the parents :) the nursery is like a magical wonderland with all the lovely new gardens they have built, toys and equipment for the children! My son comes home every day with many stories about all the activities he he has been doing! Massive bonus as well is they have a soft play area! Honestly wish I could give them more than 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you to jo and the team for such a lovely experience for both me and my children x

Our daughters Isabella (age 4) & Alessandra (age 2) attends this nursery. They absolutely love it here and always looking forward to attending their school every day. As parents, we always have these doubts and fears about what school to choose, ratings, etc. But for me and my husband, I can definitely say that we had a very good decision to put our kids to Carlton Nursery. First off, it is very clean ( and the staff always make sure that they look after the rooms and activity areas). Second, amazingly upgraded playgrounds, activity rooms, IT rooms, their very own soft play area, and a lot more which any kid will truly enjoy. Third, lovely and professional staff, for me as a Mum I always have peace of mind leaving my girls with them; (they have the baby app that you can download and keeps you up-to-date with literally everything; daily notes, temperature, activities, photos,etc) In addition, the support of the whole school employees/staff is always there in times of need, and that's the important thing you need most especially this pandemic. I can't thank you enough for everything and we would highly recommend this nursery. So enroll your kids now and you will not regret it.. :)

I have to say the improvements I have seen the nursery make within the last 9 months have been amazing! The nursery is so much cleaner and nice to be in. The staff new and old have helped my two children and I feel more comfortable around the setting. The nursery have really taken massive steps to help achieve a real nursery vibe by providing new equipment and play areas that my children often come home and talk about. The new manager and deputy have really taken their time to get to know children and parents making us feel at ease. I know my children love it here and I love to hear about there day, especially now I can see what they have been up to using the new baby days app the nursery is using.

I have been the manager of The Carlton Nursery for just over 11 months now and I can't believe how much it has flown by! It has been a roller-coaster with the current situation, but with my great new team who work hard every day to provide the best for all the children in our care. They are full of amazing ideas and it is a pleasure to see how much the children thrive off their passion for their roles. I have over 20 years experience working in nurseries, as well as a parent myself, with the knowledge I have gained over the years, I am confident I can continue to develop The Carlton Nursery. We have made so many improvements over the last 11 months, ensuring the needs of the children and parents are met. We have introduced a new management system and a online learning journey for the parents, as well as decorating and changing rooms around and ensuring we are following guidance to covid-19. We understand the importance of outdoor play, so we have been busy developing our outside play areas and will be introducing new outdoor areas for 2021. I feel very valued at The Carlton Nursery and everyone is very supportive of each other. I am very proud to work for The Carlton and would recommend it to anyone.

My little boy started at The Carlton January 21 in the baby room and its safe to say that its one of the best things we have done for him. The facilities at the nursery are outstanding and the staff even more so! His development has come on so much under the careful supervision of the staff and he genuinely gets excited when he arrives. Every day he does a new activity and experiences new things! The Nursery is extreamly clean and covid safe, personally witnessing the staff scrubbing the place down. Also the use of the "Baby Days" app is so good and helps us have a clear pitcure of what the little man gets up to every day! Would highly recommend to all parents!

My little one has attended the Carlton since July of last year, after our previous childcare provider closed overnight due to the pandemic. Needless to say this was a very stressful time for us, but the staff at the Carlton were so supportive. We attended a taster session and my little one didn’t want to leave; from day one the staff and the atmosphere they help to create have put us all at ease. At the point my child joined, the Carlton under Jo, were beginning a period of refurbishment and modernisation which included outside garden, plant beds and indoor spaces, as well as providing a parent app. This has been a great way to get updates throughout the day and has allowed me to have even more detailed conversations with my child about their day. My child is thriving, has plenty of friends and enjoys every day at the Carlton. The staff know my child, and also take the time to know us as a family and we are very happy we chose the Carlton. We are all especially grateful to Abby and Amy for the care and genuine affection they give day in day out! I would happily recommend the Carlton to any parent!

We are so happy with this nursery, Millie and the team do an amazing job and work so hard. The staff are caring, thoughtful and so welcoming. The nursery offer a great deal of flexibility which is great. Our children have come on so well whilst at Carlton. The facilities are great, my daughter loves the big soft play and outdoor area! She comes home telling us what a fun day she's had with her friends. You can tell that she's being encouraged and is learning a lot. Whenever we've asked about development and next stages Millie the nursery manager along with our daughters Key Worker has always taken the time to discuss this with us and answer any questions we have. Our youngest has settled in well, and we feel that is due to the staff taking such good care of him and getting to know him. We are so happy we chose this nursery and we'd highly recommend it to others.

My little girl loves the nursery. She's currently in the 'Tykes' room which is the step before Pre school. It's been excellent seeing her start to develop the skills needed, and grow in confidence. The staff are fantastic, working to keep the children engaged in new and exciting activities and the room is clean and well organised. I was a little worried about how she would cope transitioning to the new room during lockdown, but the staff worked with me to ensure her naps were consistent and kept me informed of her development at all stages. Largely helped by the introduction of a new app which helps you see their progression and observations from the staff. I'll be sad when she leaves this Summer but know that my little girl has received all the necessary support to move to her pre-school and i'm sure she will be more emotionally ready as a result. Thank you to Abby, Nicky and Amy in particular for going out of their way to ensure my little girl is always included in tasks despite an allergy. Biscuit decorating was tweaked to become safe and special treats during their parties are always tailored so she can enjoy too.

I would highly recommend the calton nursery, the staff have been so kind to my daughter and I find it so easy to talk to all of them! having looked around lots of nurserys during lockdown I couldn't find a nursery that allowed me to do a few settling in days most of them said a hour or two at the most which I didn't think was enough for my clingy lockdown baby! then I viewed carlton and they said I could do as many settling in days as I wanted which was amazing and really helped ease her into nursery befor me going back to work. the rooms are always lovely and clean and there's tons of toys and sensory toys so I no she's always occupied. deffo reccomend

My little boy started in January at the age of 2. At first I was a little worried and nervous about him starting a new setting as he had no speech but its the best thing I have ever done. My son has come on leaps and bounds with the team he has. His speech has come on loads and each day hes coming home with a new word. In the past month he has learnt most of his colours and is so happy to go. Everywhere has painted and decorated, new equipment and garden's have been extended. The new parent app is just amazing. I get notifications when my child has been to sleep when hes woke up, what he has eaten and what hes been up to. I also get to see the observations as soon as they are loaded up onto the system. I cant priase the staff enough. I definitely recommend this nursery to anyone.

I would recommend this nursery, the improvements I have seen over the last 6 months have been outstanding and made a huge impact on my child, he is always coming home saying he has been playing outside on the new climbing frame and driving the new boat. Both of my children go to this nursery and have done for the past year. I have never had any problems whist sending my children to this nursery. Both have come on leaps and bounds and are both extremely happy here. All the staff are polite and friendly and are always happy to help. I would strongly recommend this nursery to all my friends and family. I have read recent reviews on this nursery, and I strongly disagree with things people have written, it saddens me to see things like this written as I feel the statements are untrue and written out of spite.
