I can’t fault the school, it doesn’t deserve the negativity being shown over the comments of 1 Dinner lady not reacher, who now no longer works there, the school has dealt with what happened swiftly and the head teacher should be praised for how she has handled everything. The children are extremely well looked after and happy in this school. The children’s safety is their number 1 priority. You can not blame the school for 1 persons comment

I cannot recommend Shaw Wood enough. The first time I visited the school to see if it was suitable for my daughter, I knew instantly that this is where I wanted my children to be educated, and they have not disappointed. The staff are professional but friendly, they are encouraging, determined and considerate of all the individual children and their needs (whatever their gender, religion, ethnic or socio-economic background). I have never had a bad word to say about the school, and I still don't. Recent negative attention, caused by one dinner lady who is no longer employed at the school, has only served to prove to all the staff and parents at Shaw Wood, that the Head and the Board of Governors only have the pupil's best interests at heart. Their swift action in regards to making the children's safety their number 1 priority shows the real ethos of the school, and is a true representation of how the school operates. My husband and I now have 3 children attending here, and they will continue to flourish here until they proceed to secondary school. Keep going Shaw Wood, you are doing amazing!

My children have been attending this school for 10 years now & I could not fault anything about Shaw Wood Academy. It has received a lot of bad press over the last few days which is all from one comment a dinner lady made. The school have handled this situation perfectly. They’ve acted quickly & efficiently in dealing with this member of staff & making sure the children’s safety remained there priority. I have another child starting school next September & I wouldn’t think twice about sending her here. The school is at no fault whatsoever for what’s recently happened & don’t deserve all the bad reviews over one individual. One persons comments DOES NOT represent a full schools staff & the local community

A dinner lady recently made some negative comments about the NZ attacks. This was in no way connected to the school, this was her own private opinion and one for which she has suffered. The school, police and other agencies have dealt with this immediately and the staff member is now not in their employment. These comments were not made by, or indeed the opinion of the school in any way. I have had all four of my children in this school for 11 years altogether. Never once have they let me or my children down. They are a great school which is reflected in their Ofsted report. I wholeheartedly support shaw wood and can only applaud them on their fast actions and discretion during a tough, challenging time. Highly recommend shaw wood for a primary school choice, it is inclusive of everyone and works very hard with families in our community. More importantly the children are happy, well educated And cared for. No brainer really.

One persons vile comments should NOT reflect badly against a school the way they seem to be. The school CANNOT control someone’s thoughts,beliefs or comments only deal with them when brought to their attention. This school has kitchen staff that go above and beyond for special meals to make them exciting for the kids ie Xmas or Red Nose Day etc. Teachers I have known go above and beyond to help kids that need it, shed tears for students/former students pain or loss. Teaching assistants that give that extra little help, support or confidence where needed. Pastoral staff that are worth their weight in gold for kids that need it. A head teacher that changed holiday dates in an attempt for parents to find affordable holidays A group of amazing staff giving up their free time to do a walk to raise money for mental health support in school when the government cut funding. Playtime and dinnertime staff that look after our kids when they fall. A variety of after school clubs/activities and explorers where again all staff are incredible. Considering all rules, regulations and impossible targets set by the government I think this school thanks to amazing staff still manages to push that bit further for its students.

People need to stop giving bad reviews over that one employee. The school has taken the appropriate action, so we need to move on. Even as muslims we cant keeping judging and destroy the reputation of an innocent school. Rather we should applaud them for taking action. Salams and have a good day.

This school doesn't deserve all the hate as it is a good school.Just because one dinner lady made a insensitive careless comment that shouldn't belong on the internet.I would recommend this school. If anyone wants to tell me other wise then go ahead. And Kristy is not a teacher she is in fact a dinner lady.One persons racist comment should not affect shaw wood as a school it should affect her and only her.

Edited Review: After the wake of the news that a (now ex) employee working at Shaw Wood Academy was celebrating the NZ attacks which killed innocent civillians including children, the management team has swifty fired Kristy Baraas Sivitier from their school. I applaud this academy for making the correct decision. For that I have edited my rating to 5 stars. Thank you Jo Campbell.

Year 3 production of YE HA , Absolutely Amazing! Every body involved should be massively proud,, the hard work in putting on a show of this quality just Wow. Thanks to all the teachers and all the helpers that made this truly enjoyable from start to finish, clear to see the kids having so much fun, And nice to see there little characters shining through, Well done to all , fantastic 👏👏👏

Can't praise the school enough in the way the staff and Mrs Campbell have dealt with recent events involving a lunchtime supervisor, the actual teachers of the school are amazing and the unacceptable views of one person who doesn't actually teach the kids should not result in negativity towards the school and it will not change how hard the staff work and how happy the kids are
