Been on the acting for film course a couple of times now, and had very different experiences. Most recent was with the outlander actor Scott who was great. I agree with others that the course lacked structure but the practical tips and advice about working on set was invaluable as was the fact we were working with someone famous. While we used less equipment during practice in class, Scott explained that in his big films or tv shows like outlander, they use iPhones to capture the shots and rehearse before the real footage records. So learning how to work with them is also important, as is turning up on the day and not knowing what will be shot as a previous reviewer mentioned. I found that realistic, and experiencing that was actually helpful. That said, the term before I was working with a less established director but I got more acting training and the class was very structured. I guess it’s a balance of what you are looking for, to network and gain actual training and insights into the professional industry right now, or get structured training from a less well known actor and teacher. For me they both worked and I took all the positives from them. I would enrol on another term if it were a coach I hadn’t worked with, as it’s always good to learn new things.

Training with Acting Out has been life changing. I started off with beginners drama and progressed to intermediate and then onto advanced. Clare has been a fabulous teacher. She has a wealth of knowledge and I've already been cast in several roles worldwide. I recommend this Drama School to everyone! I'm also a member of the professional performer association and their Facebook group and online courses have been great! A++++

I've been studying with Acting Out for a couple of years now. I started with the Beginner's class and have progressed each term. Now I have completed the Advanced class, and I loved it so much that I have already re-enrolled for next term. I also studied for the Acting Diploma this year. I have found that the Advanced class and the Diploma course complement each other really well. On the Diploma course, we learned about a wide variety of acting techniques and tools, and I was able to apply this knowledge to a full length performance in the Advanced class. I've enjoyed all the courses I've taken so far, but the Advanced class has been my favourite because I loved having a role that I could really get my teeth into. James knows how to get the best performance out of every actor in the group. Additionally, I've gained some amazing friendships through studying with Acting Out. During the pandemic we kept learning via Zoom, and the human connection has helped me to maintain some level of sanity during this crazy time. I'm super looking forward to getting back into a real theatre, sooner rather than later I hope!

Excellent Courses, I have taken part in Beginners Acting, Intermediate and Advanced. I also did the Screen Acting course with Marion which was brilliant. I've worked with quite a few of the teachers and they have all been really good. I have just started to consider taking acting as a career now and will be auditioning for the Acting diploma and applying for the directing diploma because I'm also interested in making up my own theatre with fellow actors I've met along the way. That's also a good thing, you meet other inspiring people not just your teachers or the professionals they bring in to meet you and work with you, but most of the other students are also excellent performers the higher up you go in the levels. Finally, they are really good at getting back to me about any questions I have, from the office people to the coaches. Like most courses, they don't give you refunds if you pull out of a class midway through but that's made clear at the start and because becoming a performer takes commitment. They are very understanding and any classes I've missed, I've been able to catch up with the teachers help. I'm changing my life because of everything that's happened this year, and I'm looking forward to working with Acting Out again and making this possible.

I completed beginners and intermediate drama online during lockdown and I'm looking to audition for advanced drama starting next Sep. I've heard its quite hard to get into so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Either way I'll book onto another course. I've had great experiences with Acting Out and their customer service is A+++

Brilliant school! So positive and energetic. Not only have I been enjoying studying acting and working my way through the courses, getting better and more equipped to deal with the professional world (eventually, lol) but I also have met so many lovely people including the teachers. They are always there when you need them. You can also get a student card and a certificate (they cost more as it’s from other organisations but the student card is WELL worth it). Overall I’m really enjoying my classes and learning loads. Thanks!!

Loved doing the classes at acting out with Calum for 9 weeks. Despite lockdown the classes were really engaging and a fun new way to meet new people without leaving home. The classes have improved my confidence and knowledge of the different types of acting. Would recommend!

I took the beginners acting course to try something a little bit out of my comfort zone. The classes had a good mixture of ice-breakers/warm-ups, improv and performance. Overall, they were a great introduction to acting and really fun.
The teacher, Calum, brought a lot of energy to the classes and was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about acting.

I have just finished a wonderful year with Acting Out doing the Acting Diploma Course. I had been looking at this course for a few years before I eventually auditioned. I had put it off as I was unsure how I’d manage to fit it in with a full-time job etc. Well last year I decided to just go for it, and funnily enough it blended into my life just nicely.
I have attended various acting classes over the last few years, yet never had the confidence to call myself an ‘actor’. When people found out I acted, I would humbly reply “I’m not really an actor, it’s just for fun”. Well I now have the confidence to proudly call myself an actor. The course was more than just a certificate, for me, its been a life changing experience and given me the foundation and tools I require to take my acting career to the next level.
The classes themselves were very informative, fun, yet challenging. Taught by the most amazing teachers who are wholly supportive throughout. We were seriously blessed with a wonderful class who continue to support each other even after the course has finished. My only regret is not doing the course sooner. If you are considering this course I wouldn’t hesitate, just do it! It will be the quickest year of your life and you’ll wish you could do it all again.

Thank you so much for an amazing year at acting out I thoroughly enjoyed myself while studying. It was such a great atmosphere learning in the classes. John one of the lecturers was extremely patient and went into so much detail with us and helped me understand so much more . He was brilliant!
I like it that much I enrolled into tv and film which was really interesting and fun with Marion . I have still to finish my final scene which I can't wait to do .it's been really good even though some of classes were online. Marion's always asked a good thing and a bad thing that's happened that day and I do this every single day now which has kept me positive even though my two businesses are non existent at the moment due to covid but good thing is I had more time to study.
Thank you again

I have just completed the Acting Diploma Course with Acting Out, and can honestly say it was an amazing course where I learned invaluable skills and experience, as well as met some amazing people. The main thing I gained from this was confidence, something I have always struggled with to the point it held me back from pursuing acting ventures and drama school. After a few years out the game, I enrolled in Acting Outs Summer Week which was amazing and so helpful/fun, which then gave me the confidence to audition for the diploma. The teachers at Acting Out are amazing - especially Clare, John and Marion who we worked with. It is so refreshing to be at a drama class/school where they are encouraging, inspiring and constructive; rather than tearing you down and constantly reminding you of how hard the industry is. They are so positive and offer constructive & helpful feedback which only makes you more driven and determined to improve, rather than bog you down! I cannot explain how great the teachers are and how lovely/friendly/approachable they are too - not scary and intimidating like a lot of drama teachers. You learn LOADS of skills, techniques and go in depth to famous practitioners, you also get a chance to explore different methods of acting to see what suits you best. The only thing is that you will wish you are in for class more often! But the one Saturday a month is packed full of information and is a lot of FUN. You then ramp it up before exam time and this is where you realise just how far you have came and how much you have learned!
You will challenge yourself, learn a lot and you will meet great and talented peers and teachers and build connections for life. But again mainly for me, I now have the confidence and self-belief I lacked before. It has really changed my life in that aspect and changed my outlook on Acting and the industry. I wish I could do it again! DO this course if you have been thinking about it, as it will be worth it :)

I recently attended the beginners course with Calum (the teacher) and had a fantastic experience learning about acting and meeting so many great people. I was a bit nervous at first as I hadn't done any acting and was new to the city also. I needn't have worried. The class had a mixture of people and ages and quite a few from were from different countries, like me (an Aussie!)
Calum ensured the class was really good fun and high energy. We learned so much in a short space of time. By the 3rd week, I felt comfortable enough to show a small performance we had made to the class and that's because of the friendliness and openness of the group and the games and prep we did to get to that point. I'm going to sign up for the next level soon and I recommend this course to everyone who wants to get into acting. Thanks very much to Calum, and Acting Out!

I would recommend the beginner course! I attended last year and I chosen this shook due excellent location and cheap pricing. Personally I can say that it’s worth it’s monies. Received lots of interesting tips on Acting from Calum.
