Reviews of Acting Coach Scotland
A. C.
I had a fantastic and fascinating year at ACS on their one year Professional Diploma. Even in the dreaded year of 2020, I was still able to learn so much of the craft of acting, and I really felt like I arrived as an amateur, but left as a professional. We covered so many disciplines: stage, screen, voice, and even clowning, giving me great confidence to tackle every corner of this industry. The coaches are inspiring, energetic, and deeply invested in their students' journeys, even standing by them and continuing to offer them guidance long after graduation, as they have done for me.
As a comparatively young school, ACS is not set in its ways like other institutions can be. The coaches clearly make a great effort every year to make that year's course as relevant to the requirements of the modern industry as possible, and to tune it in line with their ever-developing ideas on acting technique. While this means that ACS is an incredibly exciting and dynamic place to study, it does also mean that in the excitement (and especially in such an extraordinary and traumatic year as 2020) the course basics such as feedback and predictable scheduling/course planning can be a bit neglected. But with that said, the coaches really do care about their students' experience, and so are always seeking to improve their courses in every way.
Ultimately, if you can roll with a bit of unpredictability, you will have a life-changing, rip-roaring education with a full time course at ACS. You won't be taught any chaff, you won't spend any lessons finding out what your character had for elevenses last week, and you won't waste your time. What you will do is gain a technical toolbox of many approaches to the craft from which you can choose what works for you, you will discover things about yourself and the industry that you didn't know you didn't know, and of course, you'll gain friends and mentors for life to boot.
So I'd say, do it.

After doing the part time classes at Acting Coach Scotland I was so impressed with the technique that I applied for and was accepted on the full time diploma course which was incredibly rewarding, intense and enjoyable. If you’re on the fence I can wholeheartedly recommend ACS as a place to start or continue your acting training, Mark and Nick taught me so much not only in different acting techniques for stage and screen but also a major part of the teaching is centred around the “inner game” of performance and how to get out of your own way to progress in your acting skills and career. This course is great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their acting skills.

Been going here since May this year. I love it. The coaches are all so lovely. Tharan, Mark and Cat ( haven't met Nick ) Even Hayley the receptionist is lovely. Value for money is spot on £145 for 4 week course and I can guarantee you they are quality. Weather your looking for a confidence boost , want to brush up on some skills or pursue a career in acting ( me ) then book!

I have completed 2 full time courses at ACS and I can honestly say that they have changed my life. It's more than a school. When you go to ACS you will enter a family of people who truly care for you and your development. I have developed into a great performer and I know I couldn't have done it without their continues support and guidance, even after graduation. If you want to not only change your career but also your life... choose ACS.

An acting studio that will give you everything you need to take with you into the industry and begin a professional acting career.
The coaches are knowledgeable, practical and supportive who will push you further then you can imagine!
Even my course finished the support I received and continue to revive from the coaches is second to none.
Whether you’re looking for a full time qualified acting course, one to one coaching or weekly classes. ACS is the place to go.
I couldn’t recommend highly enough!

The full time course at Acting Coach Scotland was more than I imagined it would be.
And after almost a year since graduation, I'm still learning lessons we explored in class.
Coach Westbrook and Coach Field's own thirst for knowledge and understanding is infectious. My eyes were opened to topics of study I didn't know existed. Just the awareness of this knowledge base helps me to hold firm in a room. But surely the biggest gift: I KNOW SO MUCH MORE OF WHAT I DONT KNOW.
Whilst we as drama students can wince in the pain of our acting journey, all the Coaches at ACS strive to help you enjoy the process. They do this by helping to get past doubt and fear and all the BS that we might tell ourselves.
There is no magic key or bullet to acting, but layers of knowledge and skill. ACS taught me this, through continuous challenge and building our resilience.
The PD course is intense, very challenging and relentless.
I consider myself lucky to have attended it.

I have just completed Stage 1 of the Online Zoom Class. It is amazing what you learn and how much more confident I am in such a short time. My first class I couldn't even introduce myself properly. I would freeze up when asked a question. My last class you couldn't get me to stop talking. It was such a pleasure meeting new people who are going through the same journey too and realising that I'm not alone in the process of learning about becoming an actor and industry.
Kat is an amazing coach at ACS. She encourages you to push yourself and makes everyone feel that they CAN do it. She has a loving strict technique that makes you want to break out of your bubble and to just have fun. It's your time to shine.
I know zoom is difficult to get the full experience, as to if it was an in person class but it really helped me. As it was difficult for me to travel to the ACS studio. It has changed my perspective and opened my eyes to the possibility of that you can do anything if you put in the work.
Thank you so much Kat. I wouldn't recommend ACS enough. I am so excited and keen to continue to the next stages and hopefully one day in person.

I am currently doing my stage 2 part time course at ACS and so far it has been an eye opening experience. It is unreal how much you learn in such a short space of time all due to having such a fantastic coach. One of the directors of the studio Mark Westbrook is my coach and everything I’ve learned so far is because of him and the fantastic people in my class. You can see from the number of hours, effort and true brilliance of Mark and everyone involved that they really want you to succeed in whatever you’re looking to achieve!

If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, Acting Coach Scotland is the place to be! They really work very hard there to give you great experience and as much learning as possible, both during the classes or if you need help individually. The full time diploma course is very extended as it is not only - yet of course primarily - about acting, but it looks into all aspects associated with acting like the power of mindset, learning methods and business side of things which means you are going into the big bad world very well prepared and much more developed person. Acting Coach Scotland believes in learning in practice and the full time course has plenty of shows for the public. And I confirm - it is the best learning and unforgettable experience! The studio has fun and playful atmosphere and coaches and staff are very easy to talk to. I loved my experience there, I will be back for more and would highly recommend it.

I am finishing up the 1 year intensive acting diploma and I can easily say that this course has changed my life. I feel confident, prepared and ready to be a professional actor and this course has given me all the tools to do so. Mark, Nick and Olivia (the coaches at ACS) are honest, hard working and brilliant coaches. The relationships I have built with them will acompany me through my career. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. They have awesome part time courses as well as 1 to 1 coaching!
