Having started with online and 121 sessions, I am now really enjoying Alan's Saturday Workshop series as well as the opportunity to interact with his other students. Alan is a very knowledgeable teacher with a wealth of personal experience. I would thoroughly recommend his classes to anyone who is interested in a holistic approach to developing their own mind body practice.

I’ve really enjoyed attending these classes and found them to be informative and relaxing. Alan teaches the body postures and structures behind the Tai Chi movements as well as practicing the forms. The classes are accessible for complete beginners as well as those wanting to develop their skills further and there is even an online option. I would recommend for anyone wanting to take some breathing space away from busy schedules or shake off the tensions of the working day.

Alan's classes and workshops are very relaxing, energising and fun! I like the dynamics between physical practices and thorough tai chi theory, explaining body postures and movements. I've been to tai chi classes before where all was only about imitating teacher's movements. I feel like theoretical aspect of tai chi is really important to understand what you're doing so you can get the maximum benefit of it. Mindful, knowledgeable and patient, Alan is a great tai chi teacher.

I have attended classes aswell as 1:1 movement sessions with Alan Skirving over a number of years. I've found his teaching style patient and flexible. He helped me to develop a better understanding of how I move. A first-class teacher!

Alan's classes and approach are very thought provoking. I feel I now have a better understanding of different concepts (and the connections between them) and have been able to deepen my practice. I would thoroughly recommend Alan.

I've been to quite a few of Alan's courses and want to say that he's a great teacher. He's easy going and informative. The classes are relaxing. He focuses a lot on the underlying principles which are, to my mind, the essence of the practice. I've been dipping into Tai Chi on and off for nearly 30 years and feel very happy to have found Alan's classes so close to me. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for an instructor.

Alan has been teaching me tai chi for a few years now and continues to be an excellent tutor. His classes are an oasis of calm in my hectic week! They are well pitched for various levels of ability and can be easily picked up by those requiring flexibility in their timetable, whilst following a clear and continuous line of development.

Alan has an abundance of patience and his classes, while concentrating on the technical aspects, are friendly and relaxing. Alan is very skilled at what he does and is a very good teacher. Hopefully classes at the Arlington will resume soon but in the meantime I’m enjoying the zoom classes.
