E.Helen is a wonderful, engaging and professional Mandarin teacher! Her lessons are always fun and interactive. She has contributed enormously into expanding my speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese! Helen’s lessons are very well thought through and packed with useful information. The main thing for me is practicing to speak and we do that a lot!

Initially these were for fun but have since inspired a trip to Shanghai with school and culminated in taking his GCSE papers this year. Helen has been a great teacher throughout. Helen, thank you for all your support over these last few years but especially in the last few months as he has prepared for his exams. I think this has been a great experience and opportunity for him and I'd highly recommend Helen's school.
T. H.I really enjoy Helen’s Mandarin lessons and look forward to them every week! She’s an excellent and very engaging teacher. Lessons are held at Helen’s home-school, which is a great environment, and I always feel welcome. Helen uses a fairly holistic approach to teaching, encouraging us to understand the historical and cultural meaning behind Chinese characters and language, alongside learning conversational Mandarin, so that we’re not just speaking/reading Mandarin/pinyin by rote. I find the language fascinating and Helen to be an excellent tutor. She’s a native Chinese speaker, which is essential. G. T.I've just finished a short four week course with Helen whilst visiting the UK from Hong Kong. I've been learning Mandarin for a couple of years and she has been excellent at understanding my current level and forming lessons according to my needs, making sure the lessons were challenging enough but also varied. It's been great to be able to keep up my learning whilst in the UK and I hope to be able to study with her next summer when I am back again. Thank you Helen!
