Just finished my 9 day intensive tiling course here with Stu. It was a great experience and has given me a very detailed overview of different types of tiling and the industry as a whole. It is mostly hands-on with plenty of tiling practice, and lots of use of the different tiling tools and machines. We had a great time and I'd thoroughly recommend the course. I came over from Sheffield to do the course, and stayed in some nearby hotels. It was definitely worth it. Tony W, Sheffield.

I have Just competed the four day intense Tiling course at the Tiling Acadamy Liverpool it was great from start to finish you are learning and practising in the work bays straight away on day 1 after some theory and Intros. Everything is provided tool wise and there are good facilities on site. It teaches you everything you need to know to start out in wall tiling and explaining the Importance of setting out and the theory behind it. Stu the instructor was great and there at all times through out. I have improved my knowledge and practical side of tiling just from the four days. Just completed a course at the Tile Academy, fantastic. Couldn't recommend it enough. Great facilities, resources and Stu the course Tutor was brilliant. Got to use lots of different tiling equipment and tools such as angle grinders, tile cutters, wet saws and washboys. Nice relaxed learning environment with real hands on tasks to learn from. Felt loads more confident at the end of the day; cutting tiles, grouting, finishing up surfaces etc. Great course and hope to do another more indepth course at the Tiling Academy soon.

The course is put together extremely well for you to learn everything you need to know. Stu the teacher is extremely knowledgeable and funny. I have recently just complete a 4 day tiling course at the Tiling Academy. Stu is a very friendly person and a great tutor who will teach you everything you need to know. The Theory/practical sessions are explained really well, theory sessions are short and sweet to allow you more time on the practical. If you pay attention to Stu and follow what he says it will make the practical alot easier. I am so glad i chose the Tiling academy to complete my course. I had never laid a tile in my life and within the four days I have learnt how to set out, tiling around a window, floor tiling, cutting/laying tiles around a toilet/sink and grouting. Just finished the course and after 9 days of tiling from a career in offices and warhouses and now experience im now ready to tile the country from top to bottom. Learnt so much in the 9 days and was pretty gutted it ended. Lots of fun but also very intense to get you up to scratch and earning money from tiling. If your thinking about it... just do it. If i can anyone can. Already have a few appointments for quotes and hopefully convert to paying jobs. I can't recommend The Tiling Academy enough. If you're looking to start career or even change career to become a tiler. The course is run by Stu, an all round nice bloke (helped by Cheryl and Jay, also nice!) who has been in the industry for years. Each day starts with an hour or so in the classroom talking about what is going to be done that day and giving the theory instructions. A lot of time is spent on guidance on setting out, probably the most important element of tiling. After that its straight into the well appointed practical area with your own individual booth. Stu is on hand for advice/guidance and any queries you have. A short stop for lunch then back on it, tiling walls, corners, recesses and windows. It's a fantastic course, I'd done a bit of tiling but wanted to know how to do it properly. It gave me the confidence I needed to 'go for it' and 3 weeks after the course I'm now a self employed tiler working on both private work and as a sub-contractor for a local building firm. Don't delay, do it today!

Just completed the nine day course last week with The Tiling Academy, always wanted to learn about the trade and was very happy I attended. From day one Stuart was very friendly which puts you at ease and very knowledgeable on what he teaches you as a tutor, stu gave us different tasks to do, from learning how to cut any shapes, different designs of tile work etc. Every day was different which made it more challenging but also rewarding, knowing that you were achieving the skills on what you could do.It was a excellent course to learn from and as a plus, got to meet a great bunch of lads who made the course even better. I rarely leave reviews but TheTilingAcadamy deserves a 5-Star review for exceeding my expectations. I came on the course with the aim of being able to tile my own bathroom and kitchen but left with the confidence and skillset to set up a tiling business. No experience is necessary to take on the 9 day course but there are a few "tilers" out there that would benefit from taking this course too! Other reviews will lay out the structure of the course so no need to repeat here. Stu was very relaxed and eased everyone into the course very quickly. The facilities at the academy are excellent and is easily accessible from the M56 and M6. Stu likes to challenge people by placing awkward obstacles on your wall to tile around which is a great exercise to improve your tile cutting and shaping skills. The nuggets of knowledge gained from hard won experience that Stu freely speaks are invaluable, he tries to guide you around potential banana skins, and is always available post course should you encounter a tiling problem and need some advice. If you want a friendly and supportive environment to learn how to tile then look no further, the 9 day course was worth every penny.

Cracking 9 days with Stu. Great little set up on the business park. Perfect amount of time to work around work and home life. Majority of time spent in the workshop using virtually every tool you will come across when starting out. I’d done a little bit of research before I attended and had plenty of questions I wanted clearing up, Stu was more than happy to help with any queries and can back it up with his experience. Wow what a course is all We can both say . I recently took my son who has never tiled before and me who has thrown a few down but never really been shown . Stu and Jay are absolutely fantastic. Honestly I’ve done some courses in my time and Stu really does know his stuff . Helpful, Hands On , and so genuine making us both feel so welcome . Tea , Coffee and biscuits all day long , chocolate bars , his wife even made us some fresh scones and cream and jam . Can't recommend The Tiling Academy enough! Stu makes you feel at ease right away on Day 1. Each day is set out perfectly, a brief theory session then into the workshop to get your hands dirty. Very clear concise instruction which gives you the confidence to crack on with the task ahead. Stu is a Tileapedia, and is always on hand to answer any question you may have. The kettle is always boiled with an unlimited amount of Tea, Coffee, Chocolates etc. A very comfortable environment to learn. I’ve just finished my two week course with Stu at the Tiling Academy. I’ve done a few tiling jobs in the past for friends as favours but my tiling knowledge was below minimal. I went there as an empty glass wanting to be taught the write way of doing things. For starters, it’s a really relaxed environment and very small class number of 8. so there’s no pressure but also the coaching from Stu was fantastic. Always on hand for tips during the practical phases of the course and really informative during the theory. Alls he asked was for us to respect the academy and respect each other. I’ve been on so many courses where it was death by power point, but here wasn’t the case. We got the theory out the way in the morning while our minds where fresh and then practical for the rest of the day. This worked so well. With a good mix of both males and females on the course, even when everyone was stressed when things didn’t go quite right, everyone got round each other and it was a really supportive environment. I can safely say I will be starting my full time tiling career in the next few weeks based on the knowledge received during this course. Not just practically as a tiler, but also the business side of things. How to speak to customers, how to approach customers for payment, how to gain work and how to price. All invaluable skills to any tradesman. Thanks for everything Stu and the team, with indefinite support, how can I not succeed. I’ve attached some pictures of my work from the course. I went on the 4 day tiling course and I was sincerely blown away by the amount of knowledge and experience I picked up in the duration of the course. On day 1 my expectations had already been met and the next 3 days Stu put us to work. The environment is set for you to get as many tiles down as possible, Stu is an open encyclopedia of tiling and combines it very well with humour and real life stories. I could keep typing on things I liked but Google would need a new server. I have an entire bathroom to tile booked in and a long kitchen splash back. I feel confident in taking these jobs on which just shows how confident I left the academy. I recommend you take this course come prepared to work and get dirty and you'll leave ready to take on jobs.

The course was an incredibly comprehensive 9 days worth of learning. It was good to be so hands on so soon and being taught good habits and techniques right from the off was very helpful. I really feel what I have learnt from The Tiling Academy has given me an excellent foundation to start tiling as a profession by myself. Although the course was physically tough at times it was always made fun with a great atmosphere created from the team from the off. Course is suitable for a wide range of buliding related professionals but as a complete newbe I learnt loads from use of required equipment - tile cutters, laser levels, angle grinders. I was introduced to all by Stu. Also learnt all the skills such as measuring, setting out and laying wall and floor tiles. Mitrering and fitting trim too. Cutting into windows and niches too. Also tanking, screed and underfloor heating. Really informative and detailed course with the majority of time spent on us actually carrying out all the tasks ourselves. Stu always there to keep an eye, advise as necessary and for us to ask questions of as needed. Stu has a good motivational approach to his teaching, provides a really enjoyable course and really got me up to speed. I attended the Sept 2021 - 9 day course. Stu was exactly what we needed to learn how to tile. It's a lot more hands on than I realized and we only did theory when it was absolutely necessary. Stu split the days into specific units and helped us when we needed it. His instructions were direct and straight to the point, it was a lot of information so I really appreciated this. He had lots of goodies for us to keep us going as its physical hard work, and the atmosphere was great. We were all having a laugh whilst we worked. From the minute we entered the tiling academy we was made to feel right at home and rob spends all his time giving you the correct methods to lay and remove all aspects of tile properly and does it from his own experiences . From the beginning of the course my car broke down and without hesitation and barely knowing me, stu very kindly offered me his own van for the duration of the course, not to mention it being full of his personal belongings. Again stu thank you for your kindness! The course is delivered in perfect format allowing all attendees to flow at a similar pace regardless off tiling experience. A perfect mix of theory and practical, allowing you to become comfortable and competent with all the tools and real life situations you will face. I feel more than capable and confident to go out there and tackle 99% of situations. I also have a friend that chose a different course, (uk pro tiling) and he was shocked at the amount I'd learnt that he hadnt. The tutor Stu is very very knowledgeable concerning all things Re, tiling. I came away from there with a wealth of knowledge and will definitely now have the confidence to take that plunge in to the real world of tiling. We learnt all about the different styles, methods, tools and their uses. Also learnt about tanking and wet rooms, underfloor heating. This was an excellent 9 day course. We laid so many tiles in different sizes and shapes in different patterns. I must say from never using an angle grinder before I can now cut around basically any obstacle in front of me. The course uses brand new tiles out the box and simulates real life situations like a bathroom, splashback, floor tiling, mosaics, wet room tanking, Under floor heating, enveloping falls into shower trays and importance of grouting. Plus loads more. Ive since bought myself a laser and a washboy and i am soooo much more quicker and confident now than before. You do loads of tiling and its quite demanding but you get through it and its well worth the money. Nice cert and free tub of adhesive at the end. Many Thanks to Stu and the Academy. Nate.

Hi all I just want to say a massive thankyou to stuart and all the family at the tiling academy .I started a 9 day course on the 04/08/20. I gained so much confidence from the guys at the tiling academy in the 9 days. I decided to set up a Facebook business page when I got home on sat 16th. I was shocked I had my first job come in the next day . A small splashback. I was feeling a little nervous about going into a customers home and quoting for a job . But I did it ...and got the job.. all done with no problems . By the next week I got half a bathroom to do . Done a fireplace today. And got to go and quote for 60 square metres of floor tiling job tomorrow. All this in 1 week. after only ever doing repair work (break a tile fix underneath and replace) i have never had the confidence or skill set to take on any other job larger than that myself. completed a course and with the knowledge passed on plus the enormous amount of time given tiling during the course i managed to gain confidence and skills to tile a full bathroom for myself rather than hiring a tiler. excellent work and definitely would recommend! thanks all!
