Reviews of BIMM London

Really well equipped and both lectures and students seem to enjoy what they are doing. Great place for young people to study music. No accommodation or parking but good transport links.

I have just finished my third year degree at Tech Music School and an year before I did a Diploma course. After these four years I can say that I have get a big library of knowledge and the teachers are AMAZING with loads of experience and a very high standard of preparation.
The school's structure is very well organized and it's very hard to manage a school with a very big number of student and courses.
I will definitely recommend this school and the good thing is that you can confront yourself with other people throughout the world.
Finally, I want to thanks TMS as I am going to play at the ceremonies of the Olympics in London 2012 and they gave me the contact for the audition.

My experience from Tech music school has been amazing for several different reasons.
What was important for me, starting this school, was the obvious. And that was that the level of teaching was high. That the teachers never stopped trying to inspire and help students grow. And that is what I experienced during my 2 years of study. I think the most important part of any studies is that you have to have an idea of what you want to get out of the course when finishing. If you have that and you work hard, Tech music school is the perfect place to develope yourself as a musician and artist. Not only is the teaching great, but what makes it even more great is the students that you work with everyday. People from all over the world come to study at this school and the mix of culture and music is wonderful. It is also a very good place to form proffessional contacts, with both the teachers and some students, working in the music industry. Of course, every school has its flaws, and Tech music school is no exception. The school is, however, open to communication and you can make your voice heard with any issue that you feel needs to be brought up.
So in conclusion: I warmly recommend this school for any musician that wants to be in a intense music enviroment that both the school itself and London as a city creates.

I work here, but truly from behind the scenes can say that BIMM London is an absolutely exceptional place! A seriously high level of tutor integrity, and the heads of the school are really calm and focussed, which filters from the top - down, all the way to students! I would not be going gout of my way to write a review unless I though that it truly was great. The old theory that if you don't have anything good to say, keep it to yourself! Truly, superb learning environment.

Studied the events management course and what an opportuntiy! You get a real insight as to what the industry involves and I don't think I've ever come across a university that gives you so much work experience from this. Only downfall would be the increase in tuition fees on a yearly basis. If you quote a course at a specific price, to change it regularly is not fair on all the students who joined prior!

I did the degree at Tech - and really have to disagree with these previous reviews!!
TMS is a great place for young musicians!! The simple fact that you meet people from all over the world just to make music with is awesome!
I think the course offers a lot as well!! It gives a very widespread view on the what its about to be a professional musician - far beyond just "playing"!
I know that a few people are complaining - but you have them at any college. And from my experience, the guys complaining the most are the ones that don't use their time properly and don't work hard enough. Nothing comes free in life!
To make it in the music business one has to work hard and that far beyond the walls of a university!! But i think tech definitely helps to guide everyone in the right direction..
Life is what you make of it.. ;)

Inspiring & professional lecturers. Lots of resources for students. Expert advice on music industry matters. This college makes you feel very motivated and challenged at the same time. Would always recommend.

I've been a student at Tech since 2008, and so have spent time there under both the old and new management, and during the troubles with the neighbours which led to the unfortunate (but unavoidable) curtailment of some of the facilities. While the situation may not be ideal - and lets face it, no institution is perfect - the college has made every effort to establish a system that makes the most of it. Which, I believe, is the most important thing to understand when undertaking this or any other type of education. You have to make the most of it.
Throughout my time here, I've seen all kinds of people come and go, some of whom seem to think simply being in this environment will transform them into virtuosos overnight, and can't seem to understand why they're being taught things they think they 'don't need to know'. And that's fine. The point, however, is that its what you make of what you're given that counts. Everyone is given the same material, attends the same lessons, has the same teachers. Then why is it that some people progress while others do not?
The thing a lot of people fail to understand is this: there's no way around the fact that with something like music, no one can make you better at what you do but yourself. This holds true no matter where you decide to study. At Tech, the teachers are experienced, excellent at what they do, and the knowledge they impart is vital. But they will be the first to tell you that it is up to you to make the most of it; after a point they can only provide direction (which they do extremely well). It is what you take from what you are given that makes the difference, and they give you a great deal.
Personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here, I've learned a lot, and more importantly I've learned HOW to learn. The most important thing I've gained from being at Tech is empowerment. I now know how to go about achieving any musical goal I set for myself. Not to mention I've been able to meet and play with some great musicians from all over the world. Sure, there are things I would change, but as I said, nothing is perfect. Ultimately, its the effort you put in that determines the result you get.
If you are willing to put in the hard work, and want an education that can give you versatility and independence, this is the place for you. If its magic you're after, I suggest you look elsewhere.
