I am the vice chair Governor at Eastlea and my son also attends. I couldn't have been happier throughout the five years that he has spent at this school. The children are motivated and the teachers care. It's a pleasure being a part of providing the "Eastlea Experience".

Ofsted rating has gone down but they have a new principal who has made some great improvements at another school in Forest Gate . Newham is not a good borough and a high percent of residents not only live in poverty but also suffer from bad housing and face multiple challenges. The schools here are still better than in Northern cities. Eastlea also has great facilities. The teachers work hard to educate and improve pupil's lives despite of the school being in Canning Town which is one of the worst areas Newham regarding social problems.

The teachers are unfair and also stereotypical. I do enjoy the school but some teachers need to leave and actually have professional teachers, The uniform is dear like one Physical Education is £27.50

This school used to have a bad reputation but I can honestly say this has changed to a truly great school with teachers that work incredibly hard to give the best opportunities to the students. Their vast array of extra curricula activities has earned them a special place in the students' hearts with clubs like BBC School report, Amnesty International club, Eco Champions, Mandarin club, many sports clubs and much more. The school has close ties with many respected institutions such as the BBC and Microsoft, being a lead school in the Microsoft Partner Schools programme which has impacted the school by giving them early access to new computing devices such as the BBC Micro:bit and having the CEO of Microsoft visit the school. Other highlights have been that students who have participated in Mandarin club have also been able to visit China for a study trip! These are only a tiny fraction of the opportunities that Eastlea offers. Am I biased? Well probably yes, but that comes from pouring love and effort in to a place and seeing students grow beyond the expectations of society.

Lovely school. Amazing atmosphere and good multi cultural community . To conclude a real academic school that I would recommend to everyone.

This was a great school when I went to it in 1953-56,back then it was called Pretoria Secondary Modern.Boys at one end girls at the other end, men teachers for boys and Wmen techers for the girls.We were not allowed in the girls end of the school back in those days.I played cricket and footbal for the school and it was the finest schools for sport and education in West Ham in my oppinion.
