I started learning German with Katja and am currently B1. I've found Katja to be an excellent teacher - among other things, she has been able to adapt the pace of her lessons based on what I had already covered on e.g. Duolingo when I first started, or later on whatever additional learning materials I had been using. Lessons are interesting and engaging; she is patient, but also encourages me to try to push my skills further.

Katja helped me prepare for the Goethe Zertifikat B1 exam. It was a pleasure to study with her because she managed to make each session engaging and interesting, while making sure I was expanding my vocabulary and improving my grammar. She also tailored our face-to face classes to my learning style and preferences. Katja not only provided me with the specific knowledge to pass the exam with flying colours, but also made me feel much more comfortable when speaking and writing in German. Katja is an extremely patient, talented teacher who has helped me immensely. I only wish I had teachers like Katja when I was at school! Katja is an outstanding tutor, I have taken weekly lessons with her for the past couple of years to regain the command of German that I lost after having little contact with it for a number of years. Working with students who have rusty prior knowledge and bad habits is difficult, but for Katja it comes naturally. The lessons are always well-structured and interesting and Katja tailors the material to individual students to make sure that everything is covered. I had learnt German for work but quite some time ago and since then, my German ability had declined considerably. In lockdown, I decided to restart and at first tried several Apps and even a couple of online courses. Nothing was particularly successful. I was either bored or lost. Finally I thought to try one to one lessons and happily found Katja. Her lessons are well structured, yet with flexibility to cover any questions I may have. Katja is a fantastic German tutor! I've been taking a small group lesson once a week with her for the last couple of years to develop my German. Under her tutelage, my German has advanced by leaps and bounds. I started our lessons knowing only a bit of grammatically incorrect conversational German (with no ability to write), and through our studies together I've passed all portions of the Goethe B2 exam (including writing) on the first attempt! While she comes prepared to each lesson with a lesson plan, she is flexible and very willing to pivot to topics that you want/need help with.
