Great school! The teachers relentlessly seek to push students at the school to boundaries which would have otherwise been unfathomable. With the constant motivation that being labelled as some who is from a “disadvantaged background” is nothing (in comparison to those who attend private education) students are able to go above and beyond their potential! The Ofsted Outstanding rating says it all!

My son is currently in Year 9 and he is extremely happy in FGCS and doing well academically with great support from excellent staff and friendship groups. The results in this school speak for themselves...6th best in the country for GCSE results! and outstanding as well! Yes discipline is strict with one-hour detention for even being 1-minute late but detention is never during lessons, instead always after school or on a Saturday. I love that the school discipline system is so strict and consistent resulting in fewer children repeating poor behaviour and respecting staff more as they should be. An inspirational school which defies the assumption that schools have institutional Racism, with a very high percentage of SLT being from BME community, which represents the make-up of the school community hence encouraging children to aim/achieve high. Rarely see schools like FGCS with such a high number of BME staff at SLT level. Please look at their job vaccancy list, rarely jobs advertised because staff do not leave and are clearly happy there! Happy staff=Happy students! Well done FGCS keep on doing what your doing the formula works!

This is an good school for education.. and I recommend it .. but this school needs a little bit more understanding of where there children's are , today my daughter was in detention and I asked the office is they knew where my daughter was and they didn't ??! I came to get her belongings and they say she went home ..? When she was actually in school .. :/

It sounds like a good school. I would've been going there only I moved. I would recommend that if you get a place there don't miss the chance.

My older son is in y11 now sep 2018 as my son has complex needs with the support of the Senco (mr Collins) & mrs Morrison(head of manager since y7 & mr Dixon (heAd of learning ) of all their understanding the needs of my child and working with me through the years has made a lot of difference to my son who felt safe at school no matter how he’s mornings were as it gets quite challenging but I was happy that my son is in a careing place when he leaves home as al the teachers have been so understanding and patient with my son so I’m happy that I chose a lovely school from y7 for my older child and I could not thanked them enough for the continue support it is a lovely safe environment for the kids to go into as my other child is in y8 as well .

This was my school, with the teachers I had I can say that the school is the best school educationally and interactively! I would recommend your children to go there!
