We couldn’t be happier with the effect Heathside has had on our son over the last six years. The improvement in his confidence and academic performance has been nothing short of remarkable. The nurturing ethos is embodied throughout the school, and my observation is that for my son, it quickly made a noticeable difference on how ‘seen’ and safe he felt and therefore how engaged and eager to learn he was, both academically and socially. Heathside has always attracted sparky, charismatic and kind teachers, many of whom are amongst the best I have met. My son became comfortable in his own skin, at ease with who he is and excited about school. He joined in Year 3, and as parents, we knew he was in the right place from the beginning, despite elements of chaos under the original ownership. Nevertheless, it was obvious that they had lovingly created something special that was exactly right for us and for which we were very grateful. The positives far outweighed the negatives and the atmosphere for the kids in the lower and middle school seemed uniquely wonderful. The storm of three years ago was upsetting for all. We are so glad we weathered it. The new owners and fantastic Head have maintained all the unique strengths, brought in more excellent teaching talent and added greater rigour and structure. The result is that the parents’ experience is now as good as the kids’, as was exemplified in the lockdown provision. As for my son, he is in Y8 and is flourishing. He could not be happier . He loves being part of this stimulating, vibrant and kind community. Heathside has helped him become a resilient, academically curious and committed young man, ready to take on the world. Sadly, all just wish he didn’t actually have to leave… We will remember Heathside as an exceedingly happy time.

Heathside is an incredible school. Our son, under the exceptional guidance and care of the teachers, blossomed here.
The staff offer a unique mix of social, emotional and academic development resulting in a beautiful, diverse and inclusive educational experience for children.
It is much more than just a school, it is a unique inspiring group of people who nurture your children and treat you as part of a family.
Miss Fouzia, in the nursery, is an incredible example of that. Before our son arrived at Heathside we knew all about her having been told by many many neighbours and parents around the Hampstead area that we had to go to Heathside because of her. She treats each child as her own and gave our son the most wonderful introduction to his educational journey. She is a true example of how great teachers change lives.
Huge congratulations to Jonathan, Kate & the team for their recent ofsted report.

We cannot emphasize how fantastic Heathside has been for our son. The care and attention from the teachers is outstanding. This is a school that has the children's well being and happiness at the heart of everything they do.

I have had children at Heathside since 2015 and sadly my youngest is now in Y6 and so my Heathside days are soon over. I couldn’t have wished for better primary school days; the most wonderful teachers, family, community. I am thrilled that the school has come through a tricky period with a great Ofsted report and the expectation of a top one very soon as it is so well deserved. Lessons and topics are exciting and hands on, teachers kind and warm, leadership keen to innovate and introduce interesting, stretching experiences for the children which you normally only see in secondary schools. I love that the nearby heath is central to the school and it is joyful (except for the washing!) to have muddy children to pick up each day knowing that they have played and climbed trees and had fun! I can’t recommend the school enough and will miss it terribly this September.

We love Heathside. Our children couldn’t be happier. They combine strong academics with lots of outdoor fun, creative arts and support.

The staff are very good and the children are very happy, my kids go the school and I have peace of mind that they are in good hands, as well knowing they are academically encouraging and bring out the best in the children.

after everything the school has done for us this year some of us parents wanted to come on here and make sure people know what an amazing place Heathside is. No doubt it’s been a challenge couple of years but the school and leadership team have come out stronger and I can say from all the parents and our little ones that we are so grateful. Onwards and upwards! Glad to see the positive reviews recently :)

When I went to this school in year 7, It. Was. Brilliant. I LOVED all of the teachers there (especially my science teacher, Katy Deacon) and deeply enjoyed going to school (no matter how much homework I would receive that day.). They were also EXTREMELY organised and dealt with problems successfully and efficiently which, as a slightly autistic kid, found helpful as I can not stand loud noises and etc.
Move into year 7 is like crossing into a different world in the book "His Dark Materials". You have no clue where, when, and what is hiding behind that portal and it is scary. When I entered Heathside, I honestly thought year 8s and 9s would make fun and tease us generally because we don't know much about what to do. I now look back at myself for EVER being silly enough to believe that would happen in heathside.
Sadly, Barnett Council could not let us stay in the wonderful building we were previously in (2019). I therefore had to make the very hard decision to move schools. The only two reasons I decided to move was because:
1. Heathside was planning to move into their middle school which therefore meant it would be a bit cramped.
2. By the time the school would of entered their new building, I would of been in year 9 (which was the last year for the school at that time.)
I want to point out that the reasons that I moved had nothing to do with the staff there. As I have already said already, I love all of the teachers there.
Overall, the time I spent at Heathside, as far as I've seen, has not been recreated by ANY school that I have been to. It was purely unique in its own special way.
As I am writing this now, I am in year 8. I have two friends in the school and every now and then, I ask them: "So... How's Heathside?"
90% of the responses I get from them: So good.
Heathside is for everyone and anyone. I would honestly be BEYOND surprised if someone said they didn't like Heathside.
Thanks
- Oscar.

I have had the pleasure of watching four nephews and nieces thrive and grow at Heathside Preparatory School over the last 14 years. In fact, I have recommended the school to two professional colleagues from the United States who were moving to London for work and both had excellent experiences. One of those families missed the school so much after returning to the US that they moved back to London. Of the eight children I know who loved Heathside, a couple of them are still enrolled and doing very well. I was just there visiting and was able to see them perform at a concert, play chess, and study their French lessons. I am always blown away by the kids - they are smart, funny, and dedicated to their work and extra curricular activities. They are also polite and sweet. I can't say enough good things about the teachers I have met and the school.
