My 8 year old daughter has been taking lessons at this centre for 6 months. She likes to practice, and she always leaves her lessons excited. Mariela is very encouraging and she makes learning fun! My daughter is very happy to learn violin at Highams Park Music Academy. I would happily recommend this music school to others.

Mariela Shaker is an incredibly talented musician and violinist and a very knowledgeable tutor. I had the pleasure of being her student at University. She helped me improve tremendously! I watched her students grow after each lesson and I was amazed to attend the students recital, and witness the success they achieved. The Highams Park Music Academy is a class act. I can personaly say this because it is run by 2 wonderful and accomplished musicions, Mariela Shaker and her husband Riyad. Ive had the pleasure of hearing Mariela play the violin in person right after she graduated with a Master degree from De Paul University in Music here in Chicago USA. Not only is Mariela an accomplished classical violisinist and his played all over the world for World Leaders including President Barak Obama, but is also a political voice for peace in the world. Speaking about her war torn Syria, she advocates politically for peace not only for her country of origan, but also countrys that are in similar situations. There is no one that I would trust more that Mariela and Ryad to teach by son or daughter to play music!

Riyad Nicolas has been tutoring our child on Piano since March 2020 and I have to say that we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful, professional tutor who is committed and dedicated to helping our son achieve his music goals. Riyad has a calm manner and a very supportive teaching style. He has established an excellent rapport with our son who enjoys his lessons and looks forward to the next with eagerness. Lessons are centered around musical expression and interpretation with focus also on technical capabilities. Riyad demonstrates important points and his modeling is exquisite in every respect. During lockdown our lessons were online via Skype. The online lessons did not hinder our son’s progress at all. In fact, with Riyad’s guidance and support our son has progressed from Grade 3 to Grade 5 standard. We highly recommend Riyad. He is an inspirational musician and a role model.
