Big love to Stuart, Ken, Peter, Wynne, and the rest of the team. I booked in for my CBT mainly out of lockdown boredom and curiosity, having some friends who ride but never having sat on one myself, and fully caught the bug during the road ride that afternoon. 7 months later I was back for my DAS Mod 1 & 2, both of which I passed first time. Calm, straightforward instruction, with usable feedback, and all really easy to chat to about what you want and need to work on. They’re clearly all passionate bikers who care about giving you the skills and knowledge you need to be a safe rider, pass the test, and get on the road. Office staff were great to deal with too, always a pleasure to chat to on the phone. After the CBT it had been suggested I’d need to do the improver day before my DAS, but when calling up to book later in the year they recommended I took the Big Bike Assessment to assess where my skill level was. £10 to spend 30 minutes doing some Mod 1 basics (slow control, slalom, etc.) on a 650cc that ultimately ended up saving me around £200, as they decided I didn’t need the extra day. Good honest service. Couldn’t have picked a better place to learn, and I expect I’ll be back for some of the advanced training in the future. Thank you!

I have just completed my full motorcycle license training and tests successfully first time. From the initial assessment through to the Mod 2 test every member of the Phoenix team I have come into contact with has been so kind, approachable and encouraging. Particular kudos needs to go to the main trainers I had the pleasure of learning with at Crystal Palace. Sam was there from day one, a genuinely cool guy and insightful rider with gems of advice! Keith, who delivered my Mod 1 training, had such a calm and methodical style, it felt he only had to tell you once to let you understand! Steve gave me a day of Mod 2 training and hammered the final nails of wisdom to bring me to the road test. My final day I was lead out by Mark who instilled the confidence to carry me through the test. Money well spent and I am so grateful to all of you to getting me rolling!

I had a fabulous day with an incredibly knowledgeable and humorous instructor called Joe/Jose who put us all at ease. He instilled confidence through his clear communication making instructions easy to follow. Loads of fun, would thoroughly recommend. Once again my experience with Phoenix instructors was as good as the first one taken a more then a few years ago? I will definitely come to Phoenix to take my full motorcycle license, Clear and calm when it came to instructions, patience with mistakes and praise when demonstrated the correct manoeuvres no pressure.

Found the booking process easy. The website is clear and has great detail, I understand what I needed to bring and where the place was. Getting there was quickand effortless; living south west of London and there are lots of bus connections and trains stations near by. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, they have a huge amount of experience and patience. The course taught me a few things that I was doing wrong(bad practices) and showed me the areas I need work on and areas I need to be more confident in. On the road I got a little nervous but after 10mins I got over it and enjoyed riding until I had to show i could do a U-turn but my instructor was extremely patient till I got it right, that brought but my nervous side again and started to think the worst 😅 but the instructor get kept telling me to try again and again. The whole 2h went by so fast and I really enjoyed it. I can't recommend Phoenix training enough and they really do give it their best for you to get though the CBT. I hope to be back for my full licence next year and thank you to an amazing experience, all the best

Great team, very passionate and knowledgeable. The bikes provided are in good condition and the track to practice is designed to mirror DVSA's testing facilities. They can provide gear if needed and are always there to help and advice. Great for beginner riders, returning riders or current riders looking to jump to a different license category.

After passing my CBT with Pheonix last April, I went back for my full licence. Once again, every instructor is friendly, knowledgable and knows how to teach and instruct. There is a real feeling of togetherness there, with each instructor interested in every step of your journey to your big bike licence. All the bikes are of top quality and very well looked after. They put me at ease even allowing me, when we went out the road to go first on quieter roads first then I was up and down hills on the main road with the buses. Loved it. Very pleased and impressed with the instruction I received from the various instructors at Phoenix delivered in a friendly and professional manner. I have had lessons at an another school and I found Phoenix to be incredibly well organised and efficient. I've successfully passed my Mod 1 and as of a few days ago, my Mod 2 for a full category A license and I am now looking forward to riding on a bigger bike and continuing to learn this awesome skill set. A couple of points you may find helpful, the area at Crystal Palace has enough space to thoroughly practise ALL the Mod 1 exercises and they have lowered bikes which as a short rider (5' 4) was very helpful as I could flat foot comfortably! I would highly recommend this school!

I have done two CBT's and now my big bike intensive with Phoenix over the last 4 years. The team are always incredible, from Helen and Mark at the office through to the guys on the pad, everyone is full of character and keen to get you over the line. Helen is a credit to the company, always patient and kind on the phone, she has the knowledge of the training modules and can talk you through exactly what to expect. I hadn't ridden since my last CBT in February 2020 so I was not overly confident of a first time pass with 2 days training and Mod 1 & 2 tests on the third day. Steve Hutt took me through the Mod 1 training after a refresher on the roads and by the end of the day I had successfully completed the course several times. Steve took time to understand my weak points and push me to improve them in a narrow timeframe. At the start of the day I couldn't get close to finishing the course, but was competent enough to pass by the end. Sam St Julian Brown took my through my Mod 2 training on the roads and was fantastic. His calm demeanour and reassurance quickly helped me build confidence on a very different machine. He also made time at the end of the day for me to do another run at the Mod 1 course and then again early on test day. His little tips and tricks really pushed me over the line. Finally the relationships the guys have with the staff at the test centre is a real ace in the sleeve. You will get little tips on the things different examiners like to see and tend to pick up on more, plus greater flexibility if you have any issues with paperwork. I feel very lucky to have been able to do all my training with Phoenix, it's a really slick operation with some talented and knowledgeable individuals running it. The bikes are top notch Honda's and the massive training area at Palace is everything you could need. Thanks again guys for getting me through my test in such a short timeframe.

After years of re doing cbt’s and riding twist and gos i decided to go for my full license, i redid my cbt with Phoenix and then the getting on a bigger bike course, followed up by mod1 and mod2. The whole procedure is abit of a pain in the backside if im being honest but its something thats gota be done and everyone at Phoenix made it as easy as possible to deal with. Helen and the office team are lovely and so helpful and everyone at the centre was great. It took me a few attempts on mod1 and mod2 so i had to keep going back, and ended up meeting and riding with most of the instructors and they were all brilliant. Great teachers who’ve been riding for years who i felt confident learning with. Patient and willing to take the time to go over things i asked no matter how petty or silly. Was able to get loads of practise in on the roads i did my actual test on, which i know made a massive difference and had loads of room and time to practise mod1. The bikes are all in decent condition and being checked all the time! Overall glad i done it with these guys and would recommend them to anyone whos about to embark on the mission of obtaining a license from the dvla. Good luck!

I did my CBT and full licence under the DAS route with Phoenix - and cannot praise them enough. Basking in the glow of passing the test in my first attempt (both Mod 1 and 2) - I couldn't be more thankful and grateful for the excellent training and prep provided. In no uncertain terms - may I say - I couldn't have done it without Phoenix - from Instructor Peter, whose kind encouragement spurred me on, to Instructor Steve's matter of fact feedback - "for you the Highway Code doesn't seem to exist" and "you ride like 'em Delivery riders", to Instructor Marc (who also did my CBT) and his sharp eye and tongue lashing at my cutting corners (even by inches!)...to Instructor Ken's zen-like ken - to finally getting a pass in the first attempt at the Test is, I feel, no mean feat! All thanks to the awesome folks at Phoenix. Oh btw, the bike they provided me (black Kawasaki Z650) was brilliant, loved riding it and it fit the bill perfectly for me. Truly the best 700 quid I've spent in these crazy times! I hope to get some miles under my belt and perhaps be back at Phoenix for one of the advanced skills courses in the near future. Side note: The facilities are great, the training pad layout for the Module 1 exactly like the DVSA test centre in Mitcham. The instructors took us to and around the test centre multiple times so all the roads on the actual test were so comfortingly familiar. Each of the instructors is great, but have a bit of their own personal style, so the variety of feedback helped me a lot too (I think).

Great training centre with great instructors and staff. I completed both my CBT and full license (Category A - mods 1 and 2) with Phoenix Motorcycle at Crystal Palace. After my CBT I booked a Getting on a Bigger Bike session where the instructor recommended me for the three day fast track course, which I completed and passed first time. The two days leading up to the big test day were great fun and we did a LOT of riding. They were intense days and definitely worth it. The bikes, PPE and facilities are clean and well kept and the instructors and staff very friendly, approachable, accommodating and certainly put you through your paces. I highly recommend Phoenix Motorcycle Training Crystal Palace. I'm looking for the next course I can do with them.

I really enjoyed my time with Phoenix Motorcycle Training Crystal Palace. In six months (and during a pandemic), these guys have taken me from someone who was quite apprehensive about turning up for the CBT (having never ridden a motorcycle in my life) through to having completed my full licence training (both Mods 1 and 2 with first time passes). All the instructors I have met on this journey (and there have been a few as I also did the Beyond CBT with Getting on a Big Bike and Commuter Training) have been really friendly, professional and inclusive. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them so, if you are thinking about doing your training with Phoenix, just go for it, they won't let you down. Thanks to everyone at Phoenix!!

I did my DAS training with Phoenix. I didn't have any riding experience and don't even know how to drive a manual transmission car, hence had a lot of hard work ahead of me. Phoenix instructors are very professional and most importantly patient. I managed to finally get my A license, despite struggling with Mod 2 a few times. After all the instruction I feel very confident and safe on the road. Despite not passing Mod 2 a few times the additional training has really benefited me in becoming a better rider. My only comment (and this is a personal preference) is to have the option to have the same instructor throughout the entire training and take you to the exam. On one occasion I had a different instructor for 2 days of training for Mod 2 and a different instructor took me to the exam. Not a real issue but given how nerve-wracking the exam for Mod 2 I personally felt this would have put more more at ease.

I used Phoenix from my CBT (in New Addington) to Big Bike (Crystal palace). I probably wasn't the easiest / most natural biker, but these guys are so good they even managed to help me pass even when I fell off the bike the morning before my test! For any curious ladies: if you're interested in bikes but a bit nervous if you're slightly smaller / lighter / don't feel 'strong enough', it's all rubbish and practice makes perfect! I found Phoenix through a google search and was impressed by the reviews. I completed my CBT in October 19 having not ridden a 125cc for ten years. My instructor (Mark) recommended that I attend the fast track big bike licence which is 3 days (mod 1 training day 1, mod 2 training day 2 and both tests on day 4). After great instruction by Sam and then Steve I successfully passed both elements picking up only one minor! A credit to the team, from the administrative support through to the instructional element it was top notch.

These guys are amazing at what they do! Such a helpful, friendly and accommodating school. I had a lot of issues with my previous instructor in which he ended up taking my money and leaving for Spain! Phoenix gave me some free assessment time to see where my riding experience was, even during this assessment I felt a huge difference between my last school and phoenix. The instructors have so much presence and awareness of what the students are doing. They're able to spot your mistakes a mile away (slight exaggeration I don't think they have hawk eyes) and can iron them all out before your tests. I was recommended the 3 day fast track DAS course but I wasn't confident in my ability and paid extra to have a longer training course and with the tests on separate days. Turns out the 3 days would've been enough with their training but I'm happy enough to pay extra for the amazing service I got from all the instructors and the office people. The training days were quite long and tiring, as training should be, but they really drill it into your head and muscles how to be in control of the machine in a safe manner. Passing your test isn't the top priority, your skill and safety is, once you achieve that passing the tests is simple. I hope to continue seeing them during some advanced training in the future and some social rides. I really cannot recommend these guys enough!

Phoenix have seen me all the way through from initially doing my CBT on a scooter to getting my full licence on a 1000cc Africa Twin (auto). From not being able to turn right (!!) on my first lesson and dropping the bike on a number of occasions (I didn’t find it naturally easy learning to ride), they got me through my Mod 1 passing 1st time with no minors, and my Mod 2 passed 2nd time with just 2 minors. The instructors’ endless patience, supportive attitude, good humour and sense of fun kept me going even when I felt like giving up completely, because it was too difficult! My instructor was Marc and I’d highly recommend him as an excellent teacher, who really cares about his students and works hard to ensure they are fully prepared and confident. He’s also a good laugh, which helps a lot! A massive THANKS to Marc and the team at Phoenix, for all your help. I’m amazed I’ve actually now got a full licence and I really could not have done it without you!!

Just passed my mod1/2 with these guys and honestly couldn’t of asked for better. Very informative and gave good clear instructions. Answered all the questions I asked them and cleared everything up for me. At no point did they give up or seem like they didn’t enjoy it as much as the trainee was. This is the third time doing a CBT with Pheonix. My first CBT at New Addington was great, I enjoyed the day and learned a lot. The instructors were really friendly and patient. My second and third times I booked the Crystal Palace centre. This wasn’t as great. The second time, even though I had specified that I wanted to do it on a manual bike they didn’t have a 125cc for me that day. They offered a bigger bike for me to do it on ( it was either a 500 cc I believe ) and of course I agreed as I didn’t want to waste the day. I made it though just fine. The third time I also booked at Crystal Palace, and again my experience wasn’t great. I had mentioned I usually rode an automatic for commute and would need a refresher on how a manual worked. As the rest of the candidates were booked on an automatic the instructor spent time going through the basics on the automatic scooter but neglected to go through the manual bike with me. I had to ask for the 1 minute briefing (yes, it was that brief) on the manual bike that I got. The 2 hour ride through instructor I had was Peter ( which was same instructor as I had for my 2nd CBT) . This time he was grumpy, abrupt, and impatient and I did not at all feel at ease riding with him. Ironically, although I had completed the CBT on a big bike with Peter last time, this time Peter felt I wasn’t great on even a smaller 125 and suggested I do an improver course for an extra 180 pounds before my module 1. As I didn’t enjoy my last two experiences, I probably will be going with another school for further training.

They are 100% honest and fair with the way by which they issue CBT certificates. I cannot recommend this training centre enough. My instructor was patient with me during my 2 hour road ride and pointed out both what i was doing correctly and what was wrong with my riding. Thank you to P.D Stevens for making my CBT a pleasant experience. All those who say that this training centre is only out to take your money from you are completely wrong and probably think they are far better riders that they actually are.

Just completed my progression from an A2 licence to the full category A unrestricted, offered me a nice 2 day package, first day including a brush up training for both mod 1 and 2 and the second morning having both the test back to back, only training who was able to give me these dates in a week and a half in advance. Training was good and informative, straight to the point and no wasting time, instructors are friendly and very helpful, a nice space to practice a mod1 mock test and also good knowledge regarding test routes for the mod2 which I was able to ride through before hand, all in all definitely recommend to anyone, added bonus it was also one of the cheaper quotes than I was offered from other schools

I have just passed my test via DAS thanks to Phoenix and couldn't have been more impressed with their training. I had been looking to do this for a while and looked into a number of schools and none had convinced me they were worth the investment. Phoenix were in a totally different class from the start: professional, organised and focused on providing fun but thorough training. Their administration team were very helpful and everything was properly organised. The training centre itself is huge, far bigger than any other one saw which means they can set out a full replica of the module 1 test to work on. I was trained by 3 different trainers and all were excellent. The training was demanding and focused on turning out good riders and in the process getting through the test easily, rather than just training for the test. Everyone went the extra mile, even staying late to give extra coaching if people were struggling. I did the majority of the training one to one. The bikes were brand new and all the kit was in excellent condition. I cannot recommend these guys enough and will be back for advanced rider training.

First of all I'm in no way an average story. Although I have 20+ years of car driving XP in different countries and driving cultures, some of them quite extreme, then 3 years of motorcycle scooting in London, I was still one of those I just can't pass this !@£$!£$ test. 1) in the module one I did a number 0 instead of a number 8 2) then I passed module 1 but while doing module 2 I was told I failed because I stop on a give way sign, because "there was nothing coming" and stoping under those circumstances can be dangerous. I took it a second time and didn't stop, and guess what they failed me this time for not stoping. Anyways, I share this just so you understand the amount of patience this whole team of professional instructors had to have with me. After taking module 2 for a forth time I managed to pass it. They gave me the best advice and emotional support, really big team of nice people. Can't really recommend better them, and to be honest all I saw while I was training is people passing in one shot except for me!!!

Excellent training. I did the fast-track Big Bike full licence course and sat the Mod 1 + Mod 2 on the same day. I had second thoughts about if I had done the right thing booking this but once I started my training with Steve Hutt and Wynne Pritchard I settled down and my confidence started to build. They gave me plenty of practice and put a lot of emphasis on control with the clutch and rear brake. I passed both first time! They are both great instructors and I highly recommend them. I shall be returning to Phoenix do Advance Training
