I have had 16 lessons with Zainab and it has been a great experience. She is a very thoughtful teacher who puts a lot of thought into how she presents the material and adjusts it to your individual needs. Her lessons were engaging, useful, and she was very patient, always encouraging to try harder, persuading that you can do it. I would highly recommend Zainab and Pronunciation Studio to anyone interested in learning English pronunciation.

I highly recommend it. After 16 individual one-hour classes with Zainab, I couldn't be happier. They offered me a very professional approach, nicely tailored to what I needed and wanted, given the influences from my native language, my personal goals, etc. In terms of content, we covered everything from elementary sounds to nuanced intonations. Amazing place, amazing teachers. I’ve been studying with David for a year, and every time I go to our sessions I enjoy myself. I love our conversations and having fun is the best way to learn. My accent has improved massively since last year and David is helping me to improve my American accent as well (I need it in my profession!). Every session is tailored on your needs and goals, but be aware, you have to practice a lot on your own if you want to get the best results. Even I'm in London for few years, there was a lot of new things to discover and learn. Both of the teachers ( Zeinab & Tom ) were very professional and friendly, excellent attitude. I attended phonetics courses in Pronunciation Studio, Level 1 & 2 consecutively and enjoyed it tremendously. Both of my teachers, Tom and Katie John manifested a lot of skills and professionalism. Being myself a French phonetic teacher for Russians, having a PhD in Linguistics, I was impressed by the level of professionalism and creativity in classes. Throughout the course my British pronunciation dramatically improved, I am able now to put aside my Russian accent and my listening skills improved as well. Particularly I appreciate Katie's class, she manages to provide high level of explanations and enjoyable repetitiveness of training simultaneously for people of completely different linguistic background and different capacities. She is a very talented teacher regardless her young age! I had as well an incredible private class with David Bauckham who helped me to prepare for the entrance exam to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, which I successfully passed.

Background: I had been living in English-speaking country for 3 years. I have good English writing & speaking proficiency, however, pronunciation is a different beast. The high price of the courses was my biggest consideration, but I decided that it's worth the investment. I took Level 1 & Level 2 group course + several private sessions. Level 1 course: 10/10 It teaches you 45 sounds of English. It will be fascinating to learn that you've been pronouncing several words wrong your whole life. My teacher, Zainab, was brilliant. She identified the sounds that each person had the most trouble with and gave homework to practice accordingly. This course is worth every penny if you want to improve your English pronunciation. Level 2 course: 3/10 To be fair, I only attended 2 out of 8 classes in this level. I missed 3 because of business trip and I missed the other 3 because I decided that it's not worth my time. Level 2 teaches the intonation in sentence. The lessons are unnecessarily long and repetitive. The teacher also wasn't as passionate as Zainab. He let go mistakes and didn't ask us to repeat the sentences with improvements. 1:1 sessions: 10/10 Although expensive, 1:1 sessions worth every penny if your teacher is Zainab. "Teachers who love teaching help the students love learning" - that's what my dad, a teacher for 35 years, always said. Zainab is definitely a living example of this. I found 1:1 sessions were much more effective & efficient because Zainab personalised the lesson according to my pronunciation strengths and weaknesses. In hindsight, I should have booked Level 1 course and several 1:1 sessions rather than booking Level 2. I hope this review is useful for those who are considering to take pronunciation course. In few years, you'll regret not doing it earlier!

I joined the 4 Day Intensive Class in February 2018. The course consisted of two three-hour sessions each day. First and foremost, it was a really really useful course. I’ve taken many an English course in my life, but this was something completely different. I discovered that I’d pronounced many words, including those I frequently use, quite incorrectly. Of course, improving pronunciation will take time and practice, but I definitely have a better idea of where I need to work on. There were 4-5 of us in the class, which was perfect. Perhaps a bigger class might have been less effective. The atmosphere was not intimidating in any way, and we had a good comradery among us. The setting is not quite as bright and shiny as we might imagine from the website. But the building is in a nice and practical area, very good for grabbing a coffee or venturing out for lunch. I was quite sad when the course was over. I’d recommend it to anyone for whom English pronunciation does not come naturally, both beginners and advanced speakers alike.

Incredible experience! Have been taking classes with Zainab Tapas for a few months and could see a progress after the first few weeks already. Friends and colleagues also noticed that my speech became more clear and melodic. The schedule is very systematic and thoroughly organised and Zainab is always there to help adjusting the intensity of the classes / homework to my lifestyle. There are times when my job gets too intense and I don't have enough time for regular homework - in such cases we are just having general speaking classes once in a fortnight and this is still incredibly efficient and helpful. I really love how positive, patient and encouraging Zainab is - sometimes it takes me a while to understand a particular sound and she doesn't stop until I fully get it. Without any doubt speech improvement requires very hard work, but with a right trainer the progress comes sooner than you might think.

Purchased introductory session and block of 5 individual lessons in November 2017. Administrator is responsive and effective quickly arranged me sessions. On introductory session we discussed my goals, and analysed my problem areas. While I didn't have any major issues this course contributed greatly to my clarity of speech, improved my vocal presence and make me feel more confident with public presentations. Lessons are interesting and well structured and I'm looking to take few more lessons to track my progress. I wish I had this course few years ago when just moved to London.

It was exciting to study how English pronunciation works - no one would teach that at school. Many new and sometimes unexpected rules to learn, a lot to practice - and you can actually see progress. This place is great to improve your pronunciation. I took the weekend courses and then some individual lessons via Skype. The teachers are very passionate and will look at each student's specific issues. Weekend intensive courses are always with small groups of students, so you know you'll get all the individual help you need. Last but not least: the service is great! Years ago I got a bunch of courses paid as a present, but I couldn't use them all at the time. Two years later, when I asked to use the remaining credit, there was no problem at all. They even let me switch one of the intensive weekend courses (which had been discontinued in the meantime) to private lessons.

I totally recommend pronunciation studio, they have been very professionals since the first minute, I am in a group of Spanish people and our teacher "Karen" has a great knowledge of our Mediterranean accent, which help us a lot to avoid our pronunciation mistakes. I found the studio online and I've been hooked by the stellar reviews, I have to say I've been very pleased with the choice. I bought both levels and did the first over a weekend and the second one as an evenings course. I suggest you go for the 8 weeks form if you can, it gives yourself the time to better understand and process the information. Zainab and Tom are passionate about what their teaching and competent, going to the classes was pleasent and rewarding.

She made things easier because she had studied the subject so thoroughly. The pronunciation book is first class too. I have not found a better one despite having looked at several others. The only downside is that the school’s fees are on the high side in my view.

I have attended the individual classes at Pronunciation Studio where Karen was my teacher. It was very good language experience. Karen is interested in languages and you can see that she really enjoys teaching. Karen is very patient, friendly and genuine. I have been taking classes here after I moved to London for doing business studies last autumn and I feel that it has really helped my pronunciation skills. Some people laughed at me when I said I was taking pronunciation classes, saying "what a waste, you'll learn as you stay here". I had lived in an English-speaking country before (some months in the USA) and realized that at some point, what I was able to pick up from solely interacting with people was limited. As a child you might be able to just "pick up" things, but as an adult you need to know what you are doing wrong and how the proper sound should be done. I think that's why you can meet foreign-born taxi drivers in London who have been here for 25 years but still speak with their native sounds and intonation. As taxi drivers, it's truly not because they haven't interacted enough, but because they never have bothered learning to speak the language properly and because to few people correct them. This part is what Pronunciation Studio really have helped me with. Correcting me in the way I produce sounds with my mouth. Your friends might be able to correct you too, maybe with the pronunciation of simple words, but not so much on how sounds are created. Native speakers don't think about how they create sounds when they speak. That's why one might benefit for professional help.

One of the exciting aspects of the course at the Pronunciation Studio was the realisation that most sounds in English are related to the position of the tongue, lips, mouth, etc. etc. So it is gratifying when one can improve the pronunciation of many words after being exposed through its phonetics! So I enjoyed the course of 10 classes thoroughly, and I will highly recommend it to anyone interested. I appreciated the teacher, her professionalism, and helpfulness while teaching me! I like the book and the exercises as well. It will be terrific if the audio part of the book will be more accessible currently while one is not connected to the internet. It was not very useful that one has to be connected to the internet to access the audio part of the book when doing it from the mobile in the tube!

I wish I had taken many years ago the time to concentrate in my English pronuntion. Unfortunately pronunciation is not included in most English language courses. I'd had several English classes at different academies ,but at pronunciation studio it was the first time someone explained me about English phonetics and pronunciation. Now I can read phonetics and check it in the phonetic dictionary and pronounce perfectly which is important for me as I am Spanish and we have different sounds with vowels and consonants. I did the first course, 45 Sounds. I really liked it because I learned a lot of things I didn't realise before about my pronunciation. Like for example I used to miss the aspiration on certain consonants or that there are two types of L sounds. Also I got some very useful rules to identify when to use some sounds and when to use some other. After the first course I was able to read phonetic transcriptions. If you want to know how to pronounce the sounds or what you are doing wrong I absolutely recommend you this course.
