I came all the way from Brazil especially to do the Audio Engineering course at SSR London. When I saw the pictures of their Neve studio on their website, I just needed to put my hands on that desk! Luckily they were very helpful and the course was amazing. I learned all about Music Production / Music Technology / Audio Engineering / Post-Production / Sound Design / Dubbing / Film and TV and much much more.
All the tutors are great people and fun but professional, especially Mr. Espinosa (Head of Audio / Post Production)and Mr. Lidbetter (Pro Tools / Logic Pro expert), who both basically changed my life forever teaching me all that I needed to know to make it in the Audio Engineering Industry. Now, 6 months after I finished the course, I’ve got a job engineering in a studio as well as helping out at SSR sometimes too when they hire out their studios commercially. Everything is going great and I’m so glad I made the decision to learn here. Some of fellow students are now working for the BBC, at The Roundhouse and freelance in post-production on feature films. They have amazing industry connections and all the tutors are currently working in the industry which is so important. They also let students come in and use the facilities as much as they want during their course and even after you have finished the course you are allowed to use the facilities at a much cheaper rate than any other similar studio set up.
I have heard of other courses where the tutors are basically retired from the industry or not actively working in the fields they are teaching in, so I am happy I learnt from people who are still active in that industry. As part of the course I also completed an (optional) NCFE Foundation degree (equivalent to a university degree but in 2 years, so quicker and much cheaper in total than uni!), Pro Tools 101, 110 and 201, Logic 101, and the SSR Diploma which is an industry recognised qualification. I can’t thank the guys at SSR enough and guarantee anyone who does any of their courses will not be disappointed.

I'm just completing phase 1 of the ssr audio engineering course. It's a great place to learn how to engineer and the recording facilities made available to students are excellent. I would recommend enrolling to anyone who wants to get to grips with audio engineering in a friendly, hands-on environment.

I just completed my 18 months Audio Engineering and Advance Post Production course and I would recommend it to both experienced or, like me, people with just passion, love for music/audio without any relevant previous studies or experiences in the industry.
Thanks to this course I had the opportunities to work on various projects using industry standard equipment and gaining enough experience to feel confident with using them.
I just started my career in one of the best Post Production Houses in London and I will be always thankful to the Tutors, the Staff and the great people I met at SSR.

I am just about to finish the 'Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology Course' at SSR London including the 'Advanced Audio Post Production' module. During my studies I began to work at an Audio Post Production studio in London.
The technical and practical knowledge I have gained from the course has certainly helped me rise through the ranks. The Pro Tools training has ensured I have a sound understanding of how to operate the leading software in audio-post, which I use on a daily basis.
I would recommended anyone wanting a career in audio to contact the school as the both the 'Audio Engineering Techniques & Technology' and 'Advance Audio Post Production' courses can help open doors, but more importantly give you a sound understanding of the necessary workflows needed to work professionally within the industry. As well as teaching you how to work to broadcast standards and making professional contacts.

I am a DJ and Filmmaker and decided to do the Audio Engineering Course at SSR London to improve my audio and music production skills to help with both my DJing and Filmmaking. I already had a degree in filmmaking so wasn’t sure if I wanted to go back to school again, although now I am so glad I did because unlike uni courses the Audio Engineering Course (which is recognised by all leading employers in the Audio and Post Production Industries) is really vocational and hands on which is so important on a course like this.I am really enjoying my course, it is quite intense but I love a challenge and all the guys at SSR as so passionate about sound and really know their stuff. It’s great being surrounded by so many audiophiles to share their vast amount of knowledge with us. The tutors all work in the industry too which helps you get a really good perspective on using the techniques you are learning in the real world. There are also opportunities for work experience helping out with the sessions at SSR when bands come in to be recorded and lots of other cool things too.
Before taking the course I had tried making music a few times using Ableton Live but now I am not only confident using Ableton, Logic Pro and Pro Tools but also using a mixture of digital and analogue equipment through various mixing decks and even recording live instruments to use within my music, which is something I hadn’t even thought of doing before. Not only is it helping with my music making but also with my knowledge of sound, music and recording in general. This has also helped me with my film making so I can record audio much more confidently and professionally.

Started studying in April 2014. The course is very well done of what I've experienced so far. The studio has great facilities and great experiences for students. After two months I gained some work experience working with Boiler Room TV, working in the very fancy Neve Studio. I had an amazing time working as an engineer's assistant, also working with the band and the TV crew. If your interested in Production or engineering I would definitely recommend studying at SSR. I went to university studying a similar course however it wasn't great. SSR beats university everyday of the week. Study here!

Really good course. Get to use a lot of industry standard equipment and lots of amazing guest lectures from a variety of people in the business; from artist managers to producers and agents. I have learnt so much on this course and could not have reached this level of production without it. Big up yourself.

I went to the Crash Course on Mastering last weekend at SSR London and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone! The course is non platform specific, so you can take part whether you use Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic X or any other DAW. The techniques shown can be applied to any platform, digital or analogue, so each student can apply the techniques to their own set up in their studio / at home. I mainly record bands but the other students made electronic music or recorded other live events, so it was really interesting to see the different techniques that apply to different types of musician / sound engineer and how we can apply them to the style we are doing. I already had a good knowledge of Mixing and Masteirng before the course but wanted to improve my existing skills and I definitely have. I learnt how to improve techniques I was already familiar with as well as learning some really cool new ones that I will be applying in my recordings / productions from now on. Thanks to Sie and SSR for making the weekend so enjoyable! I would love to come back and do another course!

I started my industry course in Audio Engineering at SSR London this April. The course content is well structured and the facilities are amazing! Cannot wait to use the Neve studio in Phase 3...
The teaching staff are all really helpful and friendly. Students can also get work experience through the commercial bookings of their studio amongst other things, which gives you an amazing add-on for your cv, as well as great connections throughout the industry. I have heard that SSR is the BBC’s preferred training provider too, so with credentials like that, I am very happy to have chosen SSR to further my Post-Production career. They balance practical training with industry recognised qualifications, in addition to optional modules to gain other qualifications, including ones that take you to a degree equivalent level.
I think there are still a lot to come and that Audio Engineering Course will not be just a ‘course’ but will be an all-round amazing experience to set me up for my career in Post-Production.

I heard about SSR though one of their tutors who i've known since i can remember. As i work for Defected, I was asked if i could participate n an event to give advice to students and friends of SSR about how to get tracks signed and how to run a record label. After hearing a bit more about SSR i decided to sign up for their Ableton Live Music Production Course and have to say i'm massively impressed. The course is really informative and interesting and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in finding out about Ableton Live. Plus, their studios are ridiculous. A full NEVE mixing desk is a thing of absolute beauty.

I found my whole time at SSR massively enjoyable, I learnt a huge amount on the 18 month audio engineering course but it was really topped off by the extra 6 month post production course, this was an absolutely awesome group to work with and we still work together regularly on projects, not to mention the top notch lecturing of all round champion geezer Mark Apicella! I feel that having done the full 2 years has really provided me with all the skills I need to start out my career in sound

I have now attended the first 2 sessions of the Logic Pro X 12 week course at SSR London and I cannot compliment it enough. I have been doing Music Production for 12 years and have been using Logic Pro since version 8 (quite regularly) and have composed about 25 songs and already at the very early stage of the course I have learnt so much. I knew that being a self taught musician/producer that I possibly had some bad habits but what I have come to learn is that I have good ability but now have an opportunity to enhance it to a very high standard whilst understanding what it is I am doing,
Gio is a very good tutor and keeps the language relevant and appropriate to all pupils.
I highly recommend SSR London and will be continuing further courses once my 12 week stint is completed.
Thanks SSR.

Excellent facilities and tutors that really know their stuff. They taught me in a practical real world way. They also made sure that things are taught the right way first and then how they themselves use the software or equipment second. The skills I learnt I can take to other studio's or translate them easily to other software and hardware platforms. The Ableton Live training has helped me to get some part time work with a short film producer. I will be doing a further course in Pro-Tools with them in the future, very impressed.

Jonathan Espinosa mixed down a track for me in the amazing NEVE studio at SSR London and it sounded immense, much better than anything I could have done on my own! The only problem is that I want to mix down all my tracks there from now on. I signed up to the Mixing and Mastering course straight afterwards though. so I can learn from the man himself! I hope to be as good as him one day... peace and love :-) <3 xxxxx

I visited SSR London from Atlanta, GA and the SSR were very welcoming and hospitable. My contact, Ceri, was great in helping me to get everything booked before my arrival. They paired me with a very knowledgeable engineer named Will and a very talented vocalist named Jack who were both a great help during my recording sessions! I look forward to visiting London again and I do again look forward to booking my sessions with SSR London.

This is a fantastic undiscovered treasure in Camden. The facilities are awesome, great staff and unlike other schools/colleges these guys hire their facilities out commercially! I used the studios to do a mix and get some one to one. Truly Brilliant!

The Ableton short course has been an amazing experience with the most down to earth staff on the planet. I started the course in Manchester and then moved over to the london branch for the latter half of the course due to my circumstances. They were very quick to respond via email and process everything necessary within a blink of an eye credit to Simon lyon and course organiser Andy.
Id like to thank all staff involved -
