I really really like this school it’s really fun and education wise it’s amazing and a good environment to learn in but one thing I struggle with and many other do too is the no phones policy first thing is that it’s sometimes unsafe for stunners going home especially in the winter when it’s dark earlier and from my experience is that many ppl follow me and I have had many experiences with this and having my phone with me when I’m outside of school makes it safer knowing that I can call my parents when I’m coming home if I’m going to end up late and if I miss my bus so I may reach home a little bit late so having your phone with you is really good for not just me many other students in the school and yes phones do get stolen but advice the students to keep their phones in a secure place where they know it will be no matter what their blazer pocket where the zip is a safe compartment bin their bags and many other places to store their phone so I’m pleading you head teacher please look on lifting the no phones policy it will really help not just me but many other students and their safety after school and for addition if the student is caught using their phones during the school time it would be reasonable to confiscate the phone and wait for their parents to come and collect it in their own time and if this happens the second time keep if for 2 weeks and if another ban that one individual from bringing it and another thing is if you are looking upon taking the no phones policy please advice the students to power off their phones as soon as they enter the school grounds in so I would really appreciate it if you head teacher looked up upon the no phones policy in st Bonaventure’s.

Very good school, great five years of my life spend there. Nowadays i look back and want to go back. Good facilities, pretty good teachers. I just hope that they put more focus on religion and convert non-catholics as i don't believe that non-catholics should be in this school without being Catholic.

great school.
Joined in yr 9 and left last August with top grades.
Great teachers and excellent discipline.
I am proud to have been a part of the St bons family, and have great memories of my time here.
Also,
For any parents reading this i would highly recommend St bons, it is the perfect school for any child.
Its sad to see how people troll such a good school. This school is up there with the best in Newham, and is frankly miles better than most other schools in the borough for many reasons.

Good school. the classrooms are good, this is a good place for students to respect God and others. We give 4 star becaude some students were not listening and they bring mobile phones(you can bring mobile phones in 6th form). Please dont do that. Im a student at this school.

Personally I really love the education, most teachers are dedicated to teaching us. The teachers are really guiding and caring. What makes my experience of the school bad is the fact that most of the students are rude, arrogant and make fun quite often. They swear, kick, push, punch and tease for almost no reason. Love the school's education but hate the students, a lot of which are rowdy and out of control. The facilities are not the best, but who cares? It is what they offer that counts, and st bons offers a lot to pupils. I generally always liked education but It has been very stressful and tiring dealing with the constant violence and rudeness of some of the pupils here. I think the school should be more specific with who they let in.

Great school, I attended but left in year 8, good building, and great teachers (when I was there)
The head teacher was a polite and well understanding person, and the students were okay, honestly I wish I’d stayed but I’m in year 11 now and there’s no going back! (5 stars for being a great school)👍🏻
edit: thank you! too whom i assume is the head?

I can not understand why some people go on here and give an anonymous review. These will be boys with a chip because they have just been given a detention. I work in a school and my son goes to St Bonaventure's. I can tel you ALL the staff here are brilliant - Teachers and support staff. I have never met anyone that doesn't listen and do everything possible for parents and pupils. So pleased my boy is at this school.

Some teachers are truly brilliant but there are the odd few that do not necessarily know how to teach properly, some teachers are unnecessarily intimidating. English, Maths and Science have brilliant teachers but the same cannot be said for some of the other departments which are half-good/half-bad.
The students are the same, half good and half bad. Some are rowdy, some are funny though I'd assume it is like this with most schools.
In reply to the owner, I remain anonymous because despite assurances I'd rather not be judged for my comments on the school seeing as how I'm still a student here.
Instead of constantly ranting against everyone who chooses to remain anonymous to protect themselves, why don't you actually work on the problem.

In my opinion the school is a good place... The work ethic is good and so is the religious aspect. I faced many good teachers such as Mr Miah in science. He is a legend can't find a teacher like him anywhere... But there are some teachers to bring the standards down. Mentioning no names... there is a science teacher who I believe is quite not that good. He sniffs people's scarfs like it is an addiction. Yep found that a bit creepy. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE). Despite that the school is actually a nice place. I made a lot for friends who are kind and caring.

Great School, Great Teachers, Great pupils. I live by the school and see the pupils in school and on the road. They are always well behaved and polite. Yesterday there was a bad car crash right outside school just as the school was starting. The pupils did exactly what the teachers told them to do. Not many schools would be as calm and well ordered as this. It is remarkable.

I am really sorry to say this but I was about to go to this school but I went to Lister instead.
It's because I'm a Non-Christian and my mum said that there were too many Christian crosses in the hallways and I had to pray in a Christianity place. Not being racist but I would be weird for Non-Christians to come to this school. "Live, Love and Learn In The Presence Of The Lord"
Edit: Thanks for the response. It seems like there are not only Muslims, but other religions such as Hindu, Sikh and other Christian denominations. It still doesn’t change the fact that I have an actual place to study now. But thank you.

I went to St Bons and my son goes here now. High standards in everything. They expect the boys to do well with everything, the way they dress, behave, speak to each other. It pays off, That is why so many boys do well as adults. Best school.

The education is fine, I enjoy learning and everything, the facilities they gave there I am quite fond of; not the best, but I can manage it. The teachers are kind and caring for us, as well as accompanying to our needs, but there is one thing that I dislike about the school and is the reason for 3 stars. The students here are like a wild bunch, you can't control them at times, and when you don't, they break out into fights and a load of other things these 'perfect' students shouldn't be doing. Waiting in line at the canteen can be a hell-hole sometimes; the seniors push in front of others who have been waiting for over like 5-10 minutes, and no teachers are there to inspect the situation. Overall, this school is mediocre but lacks in discipline for the students, even though it seems they are disciplined. Studies:Excellent. Teachers: Excellent. Facilities: Ok. Behaviour: Awful

All of my son's have been through this school. I have been so happy and now my last one is here, I still am. The teachers all care so much. They spend time with the boys and help them all the time. Well done St Bons and thank you.

I left St Bon's in July 1962 and it is pleasing to see that the values instilled in pupils by the Franciscan friars still apply nearly 66 years later. Of course, you cannot please everybody in a school of 1400 pupils but it is clear that a large majority of contributors are happy. We live over 140 miles in Herefordshire but will be returning to St Antony's Church next Monday for the funeral of my brother, who was also a past pupil. One of the best lessons that I learned at the school, which was comprehensive before they were established, is that everybody has talents that need to be nurtured, so that those with academic abilities recognised that there were others with better vocational and sporting abilities. Ad multos annos.

St Bonaventure's is an amazing school, there are understanding teachers who teach to a high standard, most facilities are outstanding and extra curricular activities are as good. Life at St. Bonaventure's is busy however fun, it is a great change from primary so it did take a while to get used to the school system. However, some children ruin this experience because of their behavior.

These boys at St Bons are taught good values. My Mum collapsed in the street and some Bons Boys stayed and helped her. There was lots of others around and no one else did anything. We were so pleased. As a Bons Boy myself I was pleased and proud.
God bless everyone in the school.

Great Students and great staff (well most of them...), I appreciate the fact the some teachers are looking out for us but when teachers tell us to shut up for no reason, it gets on my nerves. That is the only reason why i gave it four stars.

After beating up john cena easily .... I Would Destroy And PUNISH MR RICE at a Steel Cage Match in addition to putting my WWE title on the linee AND ONCE AGAIN Putting THAT UGLY PLASTER BACK ON HIS FOREHEAD...grazing and smashing his head on that cage!

Good teachers but the violent and badly adjusted kids ruin it all. Today someone asked me for money when I said I didnt have any he pushed me and said "f*** you" Like the teachers and facilties hate the kids.
H. C.
Teacher's shout at little kids 11-16 years old too much over minor things its like they're screaming their lungs out. But in terms of teaching its good.
V. M.
Wish it was mixed with st Angelas as boys will be more mature around the girls therefore competition and possibly better grades.
