Amazing school would definitely recommend wonderful and strict teachers that help your child excel in their learning

Good school, great teachers, decent overall student behaviour, but terrible decisions on sanctions regarding tardiness.
St Thomas More is a school that determines who you are and what you're capable of mainly from punctuality.
Some students live close to the school, but some students live much much further.
In my opinion, the school favours punctuality over grades and behaviour, making it hard for good students who are occasionally late.
I'd definitely recommend this school to those who live close, but if you live far or your journey here requires constant change of transport, it's much better to find another school closer.

A pleasure and a delight to teach in this school where I temporarily occupied the position of Head of History - initially for one term, but then by invitation extended another term to cover the period of an Ofsted inspection. Very challenging, but it went well with excellent results for all. I enjoyed the full support of the children, who were lovely, the rest of the staff and the long standing Headteacher, Miss Burns, who I felt was of the "old fashioned school" but showed me considerable kindness. *
I enjoyed my time at St Thomas tremendously, felt I was able to contribute some of my own extensive experience in prior schools and positions of responsibility, especially in areas of after school clubs, educational trips and curriculum development as well as lesson planning. Recommended 100% But you already know that?
* I was however disappointed by Miss Burns' refusal to offer a reference some six years later (considering what I contributed there in terms of Ofsted) with the reason that she never gave references after three years TO ANYBODY!!!! On a personal level I thought that was rotten. I gather she's now retired to a quiet Catholic life and the school has transformed into a specialised college.

tbh the people are great, you can make such a wonderful group of friends here. the best part is its a small school so everyone looks out for everyone. the one thing that's a bit of a downer is the lack of knowledge you get out of this school. the only way to really learn anything is to teach yourself. I've been here for 5 years, its now year 11 and i have 1 term left to learn everything i should've learned in the course of 5years. the best teacher is Mr. Pope hes teached me so much about english and hes the reason i feel so strongly about it.

Probably the best free education secondary school for pupils who are looking to strive for excellence, I currently attend the school in year 11, leaving next year for 6th from, and i have to say there is an spectrum of teachers waiting to guide you in order to succeed very well. If you are looking for a school which can help you exceed in maths, science, and ICT/Computer Science, I strongly recommend that you come and take a look at the school. I can not stress enough the exemplary support from all members of staff, especially Mr Blinkhorn (Mathematics Teacher) along with the rest of the members of staff, please take into consideration visiting this school, Thank You
