Our youngest child has been going to the German Kindergarten for almost 2 years now and we are very happy. Staff is well trained, professional and very child-oriented. I very much favour the play-centered approach, and I'm really happy they spend a lot of time outdoors. They offer lots of fun activities for the kids and their food options are healthy.
Far better than any English nursery we visited.
Our child is also well supported in learning German.

Our child has attended the German Kindergarten Bermondsey for over two years.
We have had experience of five nurseries in the area and have found the Kindergarten to be the best by far!
We do not have any German connection in our family, however are simply grateful that our child is learning a second language.
We love the space (outside and inside), the staff and the ethos. We have found the German style nursery to be better than the typical English style ones. So much so that we have considered a German bilingual primary school.
We are so grateful to have found this nursery and to have gotten a space there, and are going to be very sad when our child has to leave for school.
We 100% recommend this wonderful nursery.

Our daughter is attending German Kindergarten Bermondsey since she was 2 years and we cannot be more happier with it. Great space, professional and caring teaches and German language as a bonus on the top:) All kids are happy their and feel safe and as at home away from home. And the food is just great: healthy and kids love it. Always detailed feedback from teachers regarding kids and their progress on all stages of their development. Can highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a strong foundation start for their kids. We specially goes every morning from the other side of the Tower Bridge just for this kindergarten.

Great place. My son loves it. It's a small place, with caring staff that feels like a second home for him.
They provide top quality food and engage the kids in lots of interesting activities:
- messy play
- park visits
- buying bread at the bakery nearby
- baking healthy snacks
- mixing colours from primary colours
- poems
- kids yoga
- exploring continents and countries with songs, touching shells and stones or tasting food and spices
- activities that help develop courage, self-confidence and taking responsibility like dark room, creating support system with badges to help tidy up, help younger kids get dressed, ...
- music

The setup and location is also superb. Since it's a small Kindergarten you can get feedback every day if you are interested.
There are non German speaking kids there too. In case you want a great place but are worried about the language barrier, my son did not understand/speak German before he started there. After half a year, his listening comprehension is really good. At the same time, his English improved as well as kids from varying backgrounds naturally tend to communicate in English.

The Kindergarten are fantastic. They focus on individual learning as well as having the children engage and interact with each other. The focus is on play through learning with lots of time spent outdoors. The reports and development watching of the children is at another level compared to most nurseries in the U.K. their assessment of our child was individualised and showed his progress and focus areas in detail.
My child loves it and can’t wait to go in the next day. The Kindergarten were incredibly helpful in the beginning when he struggled to settle in and reminded us that we needed to settle in at his place not ours.
In terms of the food, it is very healthy and delicious. There are only a few things my cold won’t eat. When that happens there are always vegetables he can eat instead. Pea soup days are his absolute favourite.
The staff are fantastic about engaging with parents and listening to us. The weekly newsletter keeps us informed on what is happening in the classroom and allows us to reinforce this topic and learning at home.
Additionally, the parents of children here are great. We feel a real sense of community.
Worth noting that only one of us speaks German. We are so delighted for our child to be learning a second language at such a young age and naturally.

Both our kids attended the German Kindergarten and we were really pleased with it. The staff is friendly and well trained. They are all native German speakers and our bi-lingual kids were very happy. Kids can get outside every day as they have a little garden and playground next door. This was something we really appreciated! The staff is also able to speak English with non-German speaking kids if necessary

A lovely bilingual nursery for 2-5 year olds in Bermondsey with a family feel and caring stuff. Our son has been there for about a year and we have already added his little brother to the waiting list once he turns 2. Love reading the weekly menu which is vegetarian and sounds like a gourmand restaurant. The kids go to a local bakery to buy bread every Monday and bake various snacks with a teacher on Tuesdays in addition to dozens of other activities, messy plays, yoga, experiments, parties and festival celebrations. Messy play with soil, grass, stones and daisies, baking banana-pear blondies, a singing circle with live guitar music which one of the teachers plays, rose coloring experiment, rainbow crafting - to give you an idea... Our toddler keeps singing German nursery rhymes when cycling back home and Christmas songs is still a hit months later :) They have a small outside space (with a sandpit!) which is adjacent to a local playground, it has recently been expanded to include a new wooden slide. There are parents representatives and the feedback loop with the nursery is excellent. You can also spend time with the teachers at the pickup to discuss any issues. We love periodic meetings with our key person to go through the development milestones - never seen a more comprehensive report about my child’s development.

The German Kindergarten is just wonderful. Our daughter has been there for almost a year now and she loves it. The teachers are excellent and she has learnt so much. We couldn’t be happier.

We had an amazing experience at the German Kindergarten Bermondsey. Our child was there for 1.5 years until going to school. The staff are exceptionally well trained, excellent with the children, and there is a very loving atmosphere at the place. It’s a small kindergarten, which is rare in London and makes the experience more personal and intimate.

This is an excellent kindergarten. Very caring and competent staff (especially the branch manager Caroline) Unlike many nurseries the area, it has an outdoor space and access to a playground right outside. Our son had the best time.

My daughter loves it there. The staff are great and it's next to the park so the kids can go there frequently. Also have noticed good progress in my daughter's German.
